SHRADER,EDGAR ARCHIBALD - 74,
Torbay, Guys. Co., died April 17, 1993,
in Guys. Memorial Hospital. Born in Torbay,
he was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Webber) Schrader.
He was a retired assistant lighthouse keeper,
serving with the Department of Transport and the Canadian Coast Guard
for 20 years. More than 18 of those years were served
at Port Bickerton. Prior to joining the Dept. Of Transport,
he fished commercially for 18 years.
A veteran of the Second World War, he served
in Canada and overseas from 1942-45. He was also a member of
the Royal Canadian Legion, Torbay Branch 117.
He is survived by his wife, the former Pearl Webber;
daughter, Nancy (Mrs.Darrell Barss) New Harbour; son,
Christopher, at home; brother, William (Mac),Torbay;
sister, Myrtle (Mrs.George Ervin) Black Point,
Pictou Co.; 3 grandchildren. He was predeceased by
a sister, Reta. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9pm today
in New Harbour United Church, where funeral will take place,
Tuesday, Rev. Sheila McColloch-Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Torbay Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made
to the Canadian Cancer Society or
Torbay Community Cemetery Fund. Arrangements under
the direction of G.W.Giffen Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
