MacKENZIE, James Hemel - 77,
Durrells Island, Guysborough County, died April 8, 1994,
in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso,
he was a son of the late Charles and Mae (Ryan) MacKenzie.
He was a retired commerical fisherman. He is survived by his wife,
the former Elsie Ellen (Essie) Dort; son, Donald,
Canso; daughter, Gladys (Mrs. Frank Cohoon), Canso;
sister, Mable (Mrs. Elmer McInnis), Montaque, P.E.I.;
five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Ethel;
two brothers, George, Charles, five sisters, Carrie MacKenzie,
Mamie McGann, Lil Dudley, Viola Smith, Enid Taylor. Cremation has taken place.
A private family burial will take place in Canso at a later date.
Donations may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Arrangements are under the direction of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
