Frank Archibald Jordan

JORDANVILLE, Sept. 8 -
The death of Frank Archibald Jordan,
son of the late Thomas and Mary Jordan, Jordanville,
occurred in Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax, on September 3.

Born at Jordanville 78 years ago,
he lived his early life here. He was a veteran
of World War I where he served as stretcher-bearer.
After the war he lived with his wife and family
at Sherbrooke for many years where Mr. Jordan served as local jailer.
At the outbreak of World War II he enlisted again and served
in The Veterans Guard of Canada. Since the second war
they have lived at Dartmouth and kept a boarding house until recently.

A vesper service was held Sunday evening
at the Francis MacDonald Funeral Home, Dartmouth,
with Archdeacon A.S. Hart officiating. On Monday,
the remains were brought to Indian Harbour Lake
where a funeral service was held at St. Paul's Anglican Church
in charge of Archdeacon Hart.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Hymns sung were, "Softly and Tenderly", "The Old Rugged Cross,"
and at the grave, "Good Night."

Left to mourn are his wife, Eva;
sons Percy, Basil, and Victor, Dartmouth;
Murray, Enfield; daughters (Jennie), Mrs. James McGowan,
Dartmouth; Mrs. Dorothy Brown, and a foster son, John Grey,
Dartmouth; 23 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
One brother Arnold, Jordanville; two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Jordan,
Jordanville, and (Lillian) Mrs. Stanley Hiltz,
Port Bickerton; two half sisters, (Margaret) Mrs. Farley Fraser,
and (Elmira), Mrs. Earl Hingley, both of East River St. Mary's,
and his step mother, Mrs. Sadie Jordan, of Lochaber.
