E. L. SUTTIS

E. Laura Suttis, B.A., M.A., M.Ed.,
died in Halifax, aged 89.
She was born at Indian Harbor Lake, Guysborough County,
the daughter of James Suttis and Mrs. David Rood,
the former E. Sophia Atwater of Bayfield.
Surviving are three half-sisters, Amanda (Mrs. Carl H. Schulz),
Batrice Rood, and Gertrude (Mrs. J.A. Jewers),
all of Halifax. She was predeceased by
a half-sister Georgina (Mrs. Percy Reid) and a half-brother
Courtney James Rood. Miss Suttis received her early education
in Guysborough and Truro and attended the University of Manitoba
and Harvard. She retired in 1959 after 52 years
in the education field. Funeral services were held
at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Indian Harbour Lake,
and burial was in the parish cemetery.
