OLDEST RESIDENT OF STILLWATER

Alexander (Hugh) MacDonald

STILLWATER - Alexander (Hugh) MacDonald, 79,
of Stillwater, Guysborough County, died Wednesday at home.
Born in Stillwater, he was a son of the late
Alexander and Janet (Whidden) MacDonald.
He was a resident of Stillwater most of his life.
He was a former member of Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church,
Stillwater, and a member and elder of St. James Presbyterian Church,
Sherbrooke. He was a retired construction worker and service truck driver,
having worked with Acadian Construction Company, Bridgewater,
for many years. He was also a former employee at Bickerton Fish Plant
and a security officer at Sherbrooke Village.
He is survived by his wife, the former Grace (Barbara) Archibald;
five daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Owen Smith), Moncton;
Elizabeth (Mrs. Logan Flecks), Judy (Mrs. Robert Boudreau),
both of Halifax; Mrs. Patricia (Patsy) Waugh, Malagash;
Diane (Mrs. Ted Allen), Bedford; a son, David A.,
Brooks, Alta.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Winnifred.
His remains are resting in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater,
with visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in St. James Presbyterian Church.
Interment will be in Waternish Cemetery.
