PARKER ELMO DARR

BORNEO - Parker Elmo Darr, 91,
of Borneo, Guysborough County, died Saturday, August 29 at home.
Born in Borneo, he was a son of the
late Albert Parker and Maryann (Mason) Darr.
He was a retired woodsman and miner.
A past member of Sunset Senior Citizens Club,
Country Harbour, he was known throughout Guysborough County
for his poems about local people and events.
His poetry was published by the Guysborough Gazette,
where he was the subject of a feature article in the past year.
He is survived by a son, Stewart, Shoal Lake, Man.,
a daughter, Ruth (Mrs. Raymond Rudolph), Larry's River, Guysborough County;
eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Althea MacLean, Lethbridge, Alta.; Dorothy Baird, Summerville, Mass.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lillian Sponagle;
four brothers, George, Edward, Clarence, Forest;
two sisters, Lyda Driscoll; Nellie Burke.
His remins are resting in G.W Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour,
with visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday
in Zion United Church, Country Harbour.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Country Harbour.
Donations may be made to Zion United Church or Evergreen Cemetery.
