GLENELG, Guysborough County -- J. George Cruickshank, 84,
of Glenelg, died Tuesday in St. Mary's Hospital, Sherbrooke.

Born in Smithfield, he was a son of the late Levi and Catherine (MacIntosh) Cruickshank.

He lived in Glenelg for most of his life and was a retired woodsman.
He was a member of Kirk Memorial United Church, Glenelg.

He is survived by his wife, the former Blanche Furlong;
two daughters,
Claire (Mrs. Doug McKeen), Glenelg;and
Sharon (Mrs. Earl MacDonald), Antigonish;
a sister Mrs. Janie Jordan, New Town;
12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Etta, Dora and Ena;
and two brothers, Harry and Otto.

The body in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater, Guysborough County.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday from Kirk Memorial United Church, Glenelg, Rev. Keith Lewis officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
