Norman A. MacKeen

The death occurred at Isaac's Harbor, Guys. Go.,
of Mr. Norman A. McKeen at the age of 86 years.
Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel P. McKeen, of Aspen.

Mr. MacKeen was taken ill little more than a week ago
with a heart attack from which he never rallied
and passed away at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, Jan. 19.

In his youth Mr. MacKeen spent several years
in Boston Mass, returning home he entered the lumbering industry
which he carried on for a number of years,
later going to Isaac's Harbor where he became interested in mining.

Mr. MacKeen was widely known and respected
and his sterling character will long be remembered by his friends
and associates who mourn his passing.

He is survived by three sister Mrs. Boyle,
(Charlotte) Boston, Mrs. Fisher, (Jessie) Springhill,
Mrs. Fenton, (Laura) Saltsprings, and three brothers,
Kenneth, New Hampshire, Campbell and Emroe, Saugus, Mass.
One niece of this place, Mrs. Forrest MacKeen
and several nieces and nephews in the province and U.S.A.

The funeral was held from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest MacKeen
on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 1 p.m.
and was largely attended. The Service was conducted
by Rev. Mr. T. J. Humphrey assisted
by Wm. Malloy of Lochaber, N.S.

The Hymns sung were "The Old Rugged Cross" "Rock of Ages"
and "Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross" a favorite hymn
of the deceased and "Some day the Silver Cord Will Break"
and at the grave "Shall We Gather at the River."

Interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery at Aspen.
