SMITHFIELD, Guysborough County --
Sidney F. MacIntosh, 71,
of Smithfield, died Thursday in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.

Born in Smithfield, he was a son of the late Lewis and Rose (Glencross) MacIntosh.

He spent most of his life as a self-employed trucker retiring as a school bus driver for St. Mary's District.
He was a member of St. Mary's Rifle and Snowmobile Club, St. Mary's Salmon Association and was past Noble Grand of Radium I.O.O.F. Lodge in East River, St. Mary's. He was a member of Glenelg Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jean MacIntosh;
a son Sidney (Sonny), Linacy;
three daughters,
Mary Lou (Mrs. Howard Kaiser),Bickerton West;
Judy (Mrs. Leonard Silver), Ottawa, and
Patsy (Mrs. Gordon Burns) Antigonish;
a sister Lillian (Mrs. Harry Tate), Riverton Heights;
two brothers, Lawerence, Trenton, and Francis, Churchville,
and seven grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister Mazie and a brother Weston.

The body is in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater, Guysborough County.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Glenelg Presbyterian Church,
Rev. Jane Johnson officiating, assisted by Rev. Keith Lewis, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
