Gertrude Mae Mason, 88, Cross Roads, Country Harbour,
died Saturday in St Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Country Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Victoria (Horton) Mason.
For 32 years she was chief operator for Maritime Tel & Tel
in Cross Roads, retiring in 1976. She was a member of
Cross Roads United Church, a member of the Ladies Aid Society,
a member of Sunset Senior Citizens Club, Country Harbour.
She is survived by three daughters, Vera (Mrs Merritt Feltmate),
Goshen; Shirley (Mrs Harland Mills), Burlington, Ont;
Maxine (Mrs Robert White) Country Harbour Lake; four sons, Wesley,
Loch Katrine; Earl, Victor, both of Goshen;
Edgar, Brantford, Ont; 28 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm; a daughter, Greta;
an infant son, Edgar; three sisters, Stella Fenton, Laura Jones,
Mabel; six brothers, Levison, Fraser, Faulkner,
Walter, Ernest, Washington. The body is in
G W Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour,
visiting 3-4, 6-9 pm today. Funeral will be 2 pm
Tuesday in Cross Roads United Baptist Church,
Rev Bob Mather-Dyer and Rev Lola Mather-Dyer officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Donations may be made
to Cross Roads United Baptist Church or Evergreen Cemetery Fund.
