Bessie Leigh Feltmate

Unnamed, dated 1968. {Her name was Bessie Leigh (Munroe) Feltmate }

Mrs Angus Feltmate, White Head, Dec 31 -
There passed away at midnight December 24, in Eastern Memorial Hospital,
Mrs Angus Feltmate in her 84th year.
Although in failing health for some time her passing came
as a shock to her relatives and friends.
She was the last surviving member of the family of
the late Mr and Mrs Reuben Munroe.
All her life was spent in this community
where she gave of her time and talent, having been church organist
at Grace United Church since her early teens.
She was also Sunday School Superintendant
and teacher for many years and also a valued member of the UCW.
She is survived by her husband in his 90th year,
also by four sons, harry and Austin ,
of this community, Everett of Port Morien, C.B.
and Donald of Halifax; by two daughters
(Ada) Mrs Vernon Munroe of Halifax and (Dora)
Mrs Lawrence Snyder of Sheet Harbour; by 15 grandchildren
and 16 great grandchildren. One daughter predeceased her
in infancy. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The burial service took place from Grace United Church
with Rev D L Nicol of Guysboro officiating at the Church as well as at graveside.
Mrs Ira George of Upper White Head was organist and hymns sung were
"Safe In The Arms of Jesus" and "Abide With ME."
The choir sang the anthem, "Out of my Bondage"
which was a favourite of the deceased.
Pallbearers were four sons, Harry, Austin, Everett and Donald
and two sons-in-law, Vernon Munroe and Lawrence Snyder.
Interment was in the United Church cemetery
with undertakers, Rhynolds of Queensport in attendance.
