Glenelg Native Passes Away

GLENELG -- Ernest Frederick Hattie
died in the Aberdeen Hospital Wednesday evening following a two month illness.

Born in Glenelg, 79 years ago he was a son of the late James and Mary (Fraser) Hattie.
He farmed all of his life and was a member of Glenelg Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, the former Jean Fisher of Aspen;
three daughters,
Ella (Mrs. Hugh Archibald), New Town;
Mable (Mrs. Joseph MacDonald), Lochaber;
Ethel (Mrs. Robert Archibald), Denver, Guysboro County;
three sons,
Stanley in Dorchester, N.B.;
Clayton, East River St. Mary's, and;
Cecil, Glenelg
and 25 grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters,
Mrs. Ethel Sutherland, Lower Caledonia, and;
Mrs. Laura MacKean, Garfield, Colchester County.

Two brothers, John Hugh and Frank predeceased him.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Glenelg Presbyterian Church conducted by Frank Canning with interment in Evergreen cemetery, Aspen.

The remains will be transferred from the Angus Funeral Home to his late residence after 8 o'clock this evening.
