Mrs Angus Munroe, Canso, June 24 -
the death of Mrs Angus Munroe, an elderly citizen of this town,
occurred on Thursday at the home of her son, Clayton,
with whom she had resided for a long time.
Mrs Munroe who was 83 years of age,
was a native of Newfoundland. She is survived by three sons,
Walter and Frederick in New York, and Clayton, Canso;
five sisters, Mabel (Mrs Clifford Cameron), Liverpool;
Elsie (Mrs H Munroe) Halifax; Vera (Mrs Walls), Boston;
Isabel (Mrs Prosser), New York; and Winnie (Mrs Filleul), New York;
five grand children, and two great grandchildren. Her husband and one brother
predeceased her some years ago. The funeral was conducted
by the Rev Murray Favier, Pastor of St Paul's United Church.
Hymns sung were Lead Kindly Light, Rock of Ages, and Safe In The Arms of Jesus
and the pallbearers were Chester Duncan, Donald George, Keith Guptill,
Kingston Myers, Melvin Schrader, and Cecil Boyd, with interment in the Union Cemetery.
