Obituary for Mrs. John O'Hara ~

Mrs John O'Hara, Canso, Sept 29 -
The town of Canso was saddened on September 20
on learning of the death of Mrs John O'Hara which occurred at the home of her daughter,
Mrs W E Hagar. She was born at Canso,
the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Fanning) Berrigan,
where she spent the entire 89 years of her life.
She was noted for her dedication to her family,
for her unfailing kindness and the warmth of her hospitality.
She is survived by one brother, Herbert, of Canso;
three daughters, (Myrtle) Mrs D M MacDonnell,
(Claire) Mrs W E Hagar, both of Canso
(Beatrice) Mrs Francis Delehanty, Moncton, NB,
three sons, Kenneth, Montreal; John W, Chatham, NB; Ernest, Moncton;
thirty five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1963
and by her daughter, Pearl in 1967.
The funeral was held from her home to Star of the Sea church,
where Requiem Mass was celebrated by the Rev Robert W Wicks
who also officiated at the burial in the Parish Cemetery.
The pallbearers, all grandsons of the deceased were
Alex D. Harris, Capt. M W Hagar, C.A.F., John C. Hagar,
Kenneth Delehanty, Terrence Delehanty, and John Keating.
