COOK, Ruth Catherine ~ 77, Roachvale, Guysborough Co., died February 24, 1996, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born at Cook’s Cove, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Taylor) Whitman. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for a number of years in Guysborough County. She was a member of Wesley United Church and the UCW. Surviving are daughter Margaret (Mrs. William Todd), Brule; Mrs. Mona Smith, Truro; Jo-Ann (Mrs. John U. MacDonald), Ardness; sons, Scott, Robin (Bobby), Roachvale; sister, Esther (Mrs. William Innis), Roachvale; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; brother, George. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wesley United Church, Guysborough, Rev. Bill Ford officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Donations to Guysborough Memorial Hospital or any charity.
