Baker, Capt. Leonard Maxwell (Max) – 70, Liscomb, died May 13, 1994, at home. Born in Little Liscomb, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Archibald and Jennie (Dingle) Baker. He was a member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Liscomb; past master of Queens Lodge AF & AM, Sherbrooke; district deputy grand master of Nova Scotia; a veteran of the Second World War and a member of St. Mary’s Hospital Board, Sherbrooke. He received his 50-year pin from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 86, Spanish Ship Bay, where he was also a life member and past president. He retired after 27 years from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in 1988. He is survived by his wife, the former Lauretta Reid; three daughters, Nancy M. (Mrs. Gerry Archibald), Fall River; Vera (Mrs. Dana Dean), Vedder Crossing, B.C.; Marcia, at home; son John, Dartmouth; granddaughter, Nadine; two grandsons, Eugene, Geoffrey; two sisters, Helen (Mrs. Herbert Ellis), Bowmanville, Ont.; Eliza Creaser, Riverport; two brothers, Clarence, Bridgewater; Walter, Liscombe. He was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara; two brothers, Billy, Burnham; sister, Marjorie; two brothers and a sister in infancy. Funeral will be 3 p.m. today in St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Rev. David……….
