Abner Allison MacMillan
Sherbrooke-Abner Allison MacMillan, 86, of Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, died Monday, April 4, in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke. Born in Isaacs Harbour, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late John Hugh and Cyrilla (Reid) MacMillan. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Canada Post for 12 years as a mail courier between Antigonish and Sherbrooke. He also worked as a clerk in local stores. An ardent horse race fan, he regularly attended races at Sackville Downs and Truro Raceway. He is survived by a brother, Hugh, Sherbrooke. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald; a sister, Mildred. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in the family residence, Sherbrooke. Interment will be in the family plot in Isaacs Harbour United Baptist Church under the direction of G. W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour. Donations may be made to St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital or any charity.
