Sherbrooke, October 16----
The death occurred at his home in Sonora October 14th,
of C. Russell Burns, prominent merchant
and highly esteemed citizen of that place
and for many years Municipal Councillor.
Although in poor health for several years,
he was always active in community interests
and will be greatly missed.
A son of the late Captain and Mrs. R.D. Burns,
he is survived by his wife, formerly Edith Black
of Amherst; one son, Cyril in Pictou;
two daughters; Winifred, Halifax;
and Ivy, at home; also three sisters;
Mrs. Lena Steen, Halifax; Mrs. Edith MacDonald, Halifax;
Mrs. Ruby MacDonald, Akron, Ohio;
and three brothers; C. Frank, Sonora; Robert L., Halifax;
and Borden, Sydney.
The funeral was held from home today.
