J. Edwin Cruickshank, 86, of Lower Caledonia, Guysborough County, died Thursday in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.

Born in Lower Caledonia, he was a son of the late John Duncan and Mary Ellen (Hattie) Cruickshank.
He lived in Lower Caledonia all of his married life and was a resident of B.C. some six years before his marriage.
He was a member of Kirk Memorial United Church in Glenelg, Guysborough County.
He was a retired carpenter and former employee with the Antigonish-Guysborough Assessment Region.

Surviving besides his wife, the former Jessie Urquhart, is a daughter, Karen (Mrs. Paul Bambrick), Middle Sackville, Halifax County;
Two sons, Lawrence, Kamloops, B.C. and Melvin, Caledonia, Guysborough County;
Seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Florence Fraser, Sherbrooke Guysborough County; three brothers, Trueman, Sherbrooke;
Charles, New Westminster, B.C.,
Ellis, Burnaby, B.C.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Jessie Mae in infancy, and Hattie (Mrs. Bruce MacDonald); a brother, Robert.

His remains are resting in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater, Guysborough County, after 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Kirk Memorial United Church.
Interment in the Cruickshank Cemetery, Lower Caledonia.
Donations may be made to St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
