COOK, Walter Frederick - 67, Sherbrooke, Guysborough County,
died Wednesday in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in Sherbrooke,
he was a son of the later Walter and Bertha (Baker) Cook.
He served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a bombardier from 1954-1973.
He was a well-known folk artist in Canada and the United States.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy LaPointe;
three sons, Gordon, Vernon, B.C.;
Owen, Sundre, Alta.;
Michael, West Germany;
two daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Alex Playfair), Kelly (Mrs. Ronnie Kaiser) both of Sherbrooke;
a brother, Leo, Sherbrooke;
two sisters, Effie Wilson; Marion Jordan, both of Sherbrooke;
eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph, Simeon;
two sisters, Edith Laing, Hazel Hines;
two nephews, Jackie Laing, Richard Wilson.
The body has been cremated.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. James Anglican Church, Sherbrooke, Rev. David Curry officiating.
Burial will follow in church cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Memorial Hospital.
