GOSHEN - Joseph Harold Day, 82, of Goshen, Guysborough County,
died in St. Martha's Hospital, Friday.
Born in Birmingham, England, he was a son of the late Fred and Molly (Biddle) Day.
He worked as a fireman on a freight ship, and also mined gold in Timmon's, Ont.
He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in England.
He was a member of the Arras branch #59, Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Michaud, Antigonish;
a son John Francis, Goshen;
four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Winnifred Grinnall;
several brothers and sisters.
The body will be in Curry's Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from King's United Church, Loch Katrine,
Rev. Marion Stewart, officiating.
Burial will be in the Goshen cemetery.
