GOSHEN - John Fisher Polson, 99, Goshen, Guysborough County,
died Wednesday in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Goshen, he was a son of the late John F. and Rachael (Fisher) Polson.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was a member of King's United Church, Loch Katrine.
He was also a member of Queen's Masonic Lodge 34 A.F. and A.M. Sherbrooke
and was recently presented with a 70-year bar.
He was an active Progressive Conservative until his retirement
and was a resident of R.K. MacDonald Guest House, Antigonish, for the past three years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Jennie M. Polson;
four sons, Robert V., Montreal;
T. Stewart, St. Catharine, Ont.;
Alex, Goshen; C. Lloyd, Ottawa;
three daughters, Lillie (Mrs. Stuart McKeen) Aspen, Guysborough County;
Margaret (Mrs. Herbert McLein) Bristol, N.B.;
Kathryn (Mrs. Subbert MacHattie) Goshen.
He was predeceased by two sons, J. Fisher and Clarence.
The body is in MacIsaac Funeral Home, Antigonish.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday from King's United Church,
Rev. Marion Stewart officiating, assisted by Rev. R.G.R. Webber,
with burial in Goshen Cemetery.
