NEW GLASGOW - Emma Blanche McBain, of New Town, Guysborough County,
died Tuesday morning at King Ritchie Nursing Home in New Glasgow,
after an illness of two years.
Born in New Town, 86 years ago, she was the daughter of the late
Thomas and Mary (Norton) McBain.
She was a life-long resident of New Town and had lived with
Mr. and Mrs. Lowell MacDonald in New Town.
She was an assistant-postmaster in New Town for 50 years and
then postmaster for another 20 years.
She was a member of the East River-St. Mary's United Church and a
member of the United Church Women.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The body is at Angus Funeral Home in New Glasgow.
Funeral service will be on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the East River-St Mary's United Church.
Rev. John Powell will officiate.
Burial will be in New Town cemetery.
