Mrs. Archibald of New Town Passes Away

SHERBROOKE - On Sunday afternoon, Dec. 1, there passed away in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke, Guysboro Co.,
Mrs. Arthur Archibald, New Town, at the age of 73.
She was formerly Emma Jane Cameron,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex E. Cameron of Willowdale, Pictou Co.
Mrs. Archibald always took an active part in the work of the community in which she lived and was of a kindly disposition.
On Nov. 25 she suffered a paralytic stroke and was rushed to St. Mary's Memorial Hospital and passed away Sunday afternoon.
She was a faithful member of East River United Church.
Woman's Missionary Society, Christian Endeavor,
Sunlight Rebekah Lodge, No. 110 and the Sons of Temperance, No. 1107.
She is survived by her husband;
three sons, Cecil and Hugh, New Town, and Henry, Kentville;
five daughters,
Margaret (Mrs. Eric Cleveland), Wolfville;
Marie (Mrs. Allison Illsley), Berwick;
Elsie (Mrs. George MacDonald), Rocky Mountain;
Violet (Mrs. Scott Fraser), Sherbrooke;
Edna (Mrs. Fred Fraser), Garden of Eden;
three brothers, Baxter, Willowdale;
William, Saskatoon;
Duncan, Belmont, Mass.;
and two sisters, Florence (Mrs. J.J. MacKay), and Lilla, both of Willowdale, Pictou Co.
She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and a host of friends.
She was predeceased by one brother Hugh, who died in the First World War, and one sister, Christie Ann.
