SMITHFIELD -- Stanley Irvin Morrison,
82, of Smithfield, Guysborough County,
died Monday, Feb. 22, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Smithfield, he was a son of the late Alexander and Margaret (MacKeen) Morrison.
He was a resident of Smithfield all of his life.
He was employed in the lumber industry and was a former employee of the
Department of Transportation.
He was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church, Lochaber.
He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Hudson;
four sons,
Douglas, Middleton;
Clarence, Lochaber;
Berton, Glenelg; and
Claude, Westville;
a daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Erick Hayne), Country Harbour;
26 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren;
a sister, Edith Jordan, Jordanville, Guysborough County.
He was predeceased by a son, William; a daughter, Sharon.
His remains will rest at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Lochaber, with visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, from where the funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m.
Interment will be in the Glencross Cemetery, Smithfield.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Donations may be made to the Glencross Cemetery Society, Bethel Pentecostal Church or the Palliative Care Family Room, Aberdeen Hospital.
