New Town Lady Passes Away After Lengthy Illness

There passed away to her eternal reward on the evening of March 10th,
after an illness of 17 weeks,
Mrs. W.H. Archibald.
Her husband predeceased her over 22 years ago.
She was formerly Jane Gunn, daughter of the late Neil Gunn and Margaret MacInnis,
of Denver, Guys. Co., N.S.

She was a woman of strong Christian character, ever a friend to the poor.
Her home was ever a hospitable one.
She was a member of the United Church and took great interest in the W.M.S.

She leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. D.H. Gunn (Margaret), who was with her the last weeks of her illness,
and five sons,
Arthur, New Town,
Dan of Belleville;
Edmund, Melrose, Mass.;
And George and Ernest of New Town, with whom she had resided;
also one sister, Mrs. Robert Archibald (Kate), New town, and one brother, Alex Gunn, Denver.
One son, John Thomas, predeceased her 12 years ago, and two children died in infancy.

The funeral was held Tuesday at 2 o'clock from her home.
The service was conducted by her minister, Rev. J.F. Rowley.
Hymns sung were "The Lord is My Shepherd",
"My Jesus If Every I Love You It's Now,"
And "I'm Going Home to Die No More".
The last two were favorites of the deceased and were often sung by her in her last weeks of illness.

The pallbearers were Cecil Archibald, Merritt Archibald, Dan Gunn, Harry Gunn, John H. Jordan and Irwin Cameron.
