George W. Stewart

Stellarton - George William Stewart, 88,
of 21 Poole Ave., died Thursday in the Aberdeen Hospital.

Born in Goldboro, Guysboro County,
he was a son of the late John and Henrietta (Jordan) Stewart.
He was a miner all his life
and a member of Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Beryl Nicholson, Stellarton;
Thelma (Mrs. Curtis Williams), Pugwash Junction;
Elizabeth (Mrs. William Greene), Petawawa, Ont.; four sons:
Maitland in Telford; Garfield and Gordon, Stellarton;
Raymond, New Glasgow; one sister, Lillian (Mrs. Horace Sage), Alberta;
his stepmother, Hazel(Mrs. John Stewart), Halifax; two step-sisters, Mary
(Mrs. Charles Moores), Halifax and Florence Jennex, Trenton.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Sarah Hodgeson;
one daughter, Lillian (Mrs. Frank Thistle), Brantford, Ont.;
three sisters, Jane (Mrs. Willard Borden), Alta.;
Jessie (Mrs. Alex Lays), Foxbrook; Ensie Stewart, Ontario; three brothers,
Reid, Freeman and Sherman, all of Ontario; one step-brother, Sherman Oscar Stewart, Trenton.

The remains are resting at the home of his son, Garfield,
Poole Ave., Stellarton.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:30 o'clock
from Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
