Obituary

George M. MacIntosh
June 18, 1899 – June 3, 1917

On the third of June the family of
Mr. George B. McIntosh of Smithfield, N.S.
experienced deep sorrow in the death
of their only remaining son George,
at the age of 18 years.

About a year and a half ago their older son
William at about the same age was called away
after but a brief illness.
So the family is now bereft of their sons
there being only a little daughter remaining
of a bright and happy family.

Their sons were very much liked,
fine, noble-hearted, steady and cheerful lads
to know then was to love them.
Both were members of the Church
and one of the things that has aided the parents
in bearing up under their sore trial
was the glorious hope of meeting in the Glory
their beloved parents expressed by their sons before their departure.
Thus the glorious Gospel becomes the greatest balm
to the wounded spirit.
On the 5th of June the remains of their dear son
was laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery amid a large concourse
of sympathetic friends.
