Obituary

George B. MacIntosh

The death occurred at his home in Smithfield, Guys. Co.,
on Wednesday morning, June 23, 1948,
of George Brown MacIntosh in his 89th year.

Mr. MacIntosh was a lifelong resident of the place
and served his community as postmaster for 48 years.
He was a member of Radium Lodge, I.O.O.F.,
and a devoted church worker in Glenelg Presbyterian Church
where he also served as Elder since 1926.

He leaves to mourn their loss a daughter,
Jean (Mrs. Sidney MacIntosh) who with her husband
tenderly cared for her father during his failing years of health,
also three grandchildren and one brother, William, in Denver, Colorado.
His wife predeceased him six years ago and two sons in their early manhood.

The largely attended funeral was held at
Glenelg Presbyterian Church with a short service at the house.

His pastor, Rev. Donald G. Archibald, spoke words of comfort
to the bereaved from Matt. 16: 18.
Hymns sung were “Safe in the Arms of Jesus,” “The Lord’s My Shepherd,”
“Does Jesus Care” and “Abide With Me.”

The pall-bearers were Elmer Fraser, Walter Fraser, Ellis Demmons,
Russell Jordan, Alex MacDonald and John A. Smith.

Brother Oddfellows conducted their service at Evergreen cemetery, Aspen
