Mrs. William Dobson -
The death of Mrs. William Dobson on Saturday
at the advanced age of 102 has removed
possibly the oldest citizen of Canso.
The funeral was held on Monday afternoon,
with the Pastor of the Canso Baptist Church, Rev. Geo. E. Levy officiating.

Mrs. Lydia Dobson - At the advanced age of 102 years,
Mrs. Lydia Dobson, the oldest person in this district
and one of the oldest in the province,
passed away on Saturday night last,
at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Feltmate.
Up to a week or so before her death,
Mrs. Dobson had retained possession of all her faculties.
Born in Half Island Cove as Lydia Rhynold,
she married William Dobson, who preceded her
more than fifty years ago. She has been living
in Canso more than forty years and lived to see
five generations of her family.
Three sons also predeceased her.
The funeral was held on Monday afternoon,
Rev. G. E. Levy, Pastor of the Canso Baptist,
of which deceased was a member, officiating.
