SANFORD C. MUNROE, 60,
of Fraser's Mountain, New Glasgow, died Saturday
in Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in Phillip's Harbour, Guysborough County,
he was a son of Annie (Williams) Munroe and the late George Munroe.
He lived in Fraser's Mountain for several years
and was employed with Cameron and Fraser Casket Co., Ltd.
, New Glasgow, for the past 36 years.
He was a member of Saint Augustine's Anglican Church, Trenton.
He served with the Pictou Highlanders,
and was a member of Branch 34, Royal Canadian Legion,
New Glasgow, and a former member of the Trenton Legion.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife,
the former Bessie Murphy; three daughters, Edith, (Mrs. Albert Owen), Plymouth;
Katherine (Mrs. Leo O'Brian), British Columbia
and Sylvia (Mrs. Gordon McKeigan), Alberta;
three sons, James, Ontario; John, Truro,
and Mark, at home; six sisters, Hattie (Mrs. Harold Weatherby)
and Mrs. Wilda Brown, both of Ontario; Nellie Monroe,
Mrs. Edith Cummings, Shirley (Mrs. Edward Porier) and Ethel
(Mrs. Sonny Hebert), all of Pictou; six brothers, Emmit,
Kentville; Clayton and Campbell, both of Pictou;
Russell, Toronto; Ross and Carl, both of Ontario,
and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister.
The body is in H. W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Augustine's Anglican Church,
Trenton, Rev. James Purchase officiating,
with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Trenton.
