Obituary for ~

GEORGE McINTOSH

RED BAR

EASTERN CHRONICLE-NEW GLASGOW,27 JAN 1920:

OBITUARY:
On the 15th January, at Smithfield, Guys.Co., N.S.,
Mr.GEORGE McINTOSH aged 90,
passed to his rest after a brief illness.
He is survived by a wife, four sons, GEORGE B., JAMES, JOHN and DANIEL,
and two daughters, Mrs.LOVE and Mrs. GEORGE, only one of which,
GEORGE B., being at home.
In his younger days, no man was better known
on the West River St.Mary's.
A man of sterling worth, and of strong convictions,
he was faithful in family worship and church attendance,
which he continued years after he could hear,
besides he observed tithing. He was a man of exceptional parts besides.
He was a Liberal, yet with a kindly view to those who might differ
from him and for over forty years was a reader of the Eastern Chronicle.
On Saturday, Jan 18, a large attendance gathered at his funeral,
although one of the stormiest days of winter,
indicating the affection in which his memory was held.
He leaves a great blank in the home and community,
and church, where for 40 years he was an earnest and faithful elder.
The sympathies of a wide circle of friends are extended to the sorrowing family.
