McALLISTER, LAWRENCE JOHN --75,
Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, died November 14, 1994
in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in Petrie, Nfld., he was a son of the late
James and Frances (Matthews) McAllister. He has been
a resident of Sherbrooke for the past 15 years, prior to which
he lived in Montreal. He was employed as
an engineer with Gulf Oil for 35 years.
He was a former member of the Sherbrooke Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret MacIntosh,
sons, James, Montreal; Kevin, Waternish, Guysborough County;
daughters, Linda McAllister Nadler, Judith (Mrs. Claude Martin),
both of Montreal; sisters, Alice (Mrs. Victor Doucette),
Margaret (Mrs. Jack McCarthy), Imelda McAllister, all of Newfoundland,
Doreen (Mrs. Al Butler), Sarnia, Ont., Marie Chicoine, Montreal,
five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Bill;
sisters Veronica, Mary, half-brother, Jack Meaney;
half-sister, Sarah Handrigan. Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday in H.W. Angus Funeral Home,
Stillwater, Guysborough County, Rev. James Oliver officiating.
Burial in Waternish Cemetery. Family flowers only.
Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia
or Children’s Wish Foundation.
