David Roger Veinotte

ECUM SECUM – David Roger Veinotte, 72,
of Ecum Secum, died Sunday (October 30/1983)
in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour.

Born in Ecum Secum, he was a son of the late
Kenneth and Florence (Ashton)Veinotte.

He was owner and operator of
Veinotte’s Ambulance and Funeral Service
and the Ecum Secum Ambulance and Funeral Service
for the past 25 years. He was a member of
Dufferin #89 AF and AM Masonic Lodge, for many years.
He was also a member of the Eastern Star, Sheet Harbour.

He was a councilor for the municipality of St. Mary’s
for the past eight years. He was an active member
and warden of the ST. Barnabas Church, Ecum Secum.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Ethel Pye; two sons, Sherman, Porter’s Lake;
Edgar, Fairview; two stepdaughters, Violet (Mrs. Keith Stevens),
St. Margaret’s Bay; Kaye (Mrs. Orville Lingard),
Noel, Hants County; a stepson, Terrance Pye,
Fairview; two sisters, Mary and Louise
(Mrs. John Cann), both of Halifax; two brothers,
Stuart, Lunenburg; Frederick, Ecum Secum;
several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife,
the former Primrose Pye, an infant daughter
and a brother Victor.

The body is in Ecum Secum Funeral Home.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in
St. Barnabas Church, Rev. Peter Young and Rev. E.L. Parsons
officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
