Arthur Gordon Jones, 76,
Guysborough, died Thursday,
Oct. 15 in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in West Cooks Cove, he was a son of the late
Percy and Laura (Mason)
Jones. He was a retired merchant,
a deacon of United Baptist Church,
Guysborough,
and a member of Eastern Light Lodge #72, Guysborough.
He was
president of the Young At Hearts Senior Citizens' Club.
He is survived by his
wife, the former Vera Sterns;
a daughter, Bernice (Mrs Sandy Tate), Pictou
Landing;
two sons; two brothers; 15 grandchildren. He was predeceased by
a
sister; a brother; an infant brother. Funeral was Sunday, Oct. 18
in United
Baptist Church, Guysborough, Rev. Timothy Fraser
officiating. Burial was in
Evergreen Cemetery.
A masonic service was held. Donations may be made
to
Guysborough United Baptist Church, the Gideon Bible Society,
or any charity.
