Will I Ever Find A Boyfriend?

Submitted by: Jazzy

Q - Dear Annabelle,
I am 18 and will be attending my last year of high school in the fall. I have dated 2 guys since the beginning of last year but after the 2nd guy I haven't been able to attract a date. I would like to find one that would stay with me for longer than a couple months? Any advice on how to find a guy my age or a little older that will commit?

A - Dear Jazzy,

Finding an unused boyfriend lying around is the easy part. Being the scintillating sort that he’ll never want to leave is a bit more complicated. Now, I’m going to assume that you’ve found yourself a copy of ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People’, by Dale Carnegie, and committed it to memory, and, too, I’ll assume that you’ve got a pretty good idea of where you’re going in life....(what your passion for your career is going to be.) I’ll assume, too, that you’ve learned to be a wonderful cook and can whip up a small batch of cookies on a moment’s notice. If you still need some further input, I’ll attach the H.E.L.P. formula to give whatever else hasn’t been covered an added boost. Good luck, and remember not to gloat.

**H.E.L.P**

‘H’ Ask him about his hobbies, what he does for fun, you know, stuff like that.

‘E’ Ask him about his education...school......what classes he likes/doesn’t like,... that sort of thing. Help him with a difficult class or ask him to help YOU! (Strangely enough, you can make friends by asking someone to help you with something).

‘L’ Ask him about his ‘lifestyle’..........what he likes to do when he just ‘hangs out’ with friends and stuff. Does he go to church or synagogue?

‘P’ Ask him about his plans for the future, and such. What would he like to do when he grows up, does he have a long list or a short list of things-to-do in life? (By the way, the most desirable people have a real ENTHUSIASM for life.......and young women who are excited about all the wonderful things they’re going to do in the world are....get this.......REALLY desirable to young men ;) - Annabelle
