Hi There, how would you guys like a new pic? Well, been doing some work on my baby, and here are a couple of pics.
I own a 1955 S & S limo style coach that I am restoring right now. It's slow going as I am a college student, but it will be finished eventually.
Here's a little on the history of my car, there are two versions that I have heard, both start the same and both end the same, so here goes...
The first version I heard was from the guy I bought the car from. The car was originally sold to Duggan's Funeral Home in South San Francisco, and after being taken out of service somehow got in the hands of an old guy who used it to go on camping and fishing trips all over. So far, the story checks out cause when the interior was cleaned out, there was a ton of sand under the carpet. While this guy had it however, it was stolen, the front driver's side window smashed, and various things added to the body and mechanicals, including a Mustang hood scoop, side pipes and glass packs, an electric fuel pump and a second battery. Well, as the story goes, the guy got it back somehow and then it was sold, disappearing for a while, then appearing at an auction where the guy I bought it from bought it. He kept it outside in the hills until I saw an ad in the classifieds and called, making sure it was a '55 and not a '65. Well, it was a '55 and then you know the rest....
Now for version number two. Same start, but then it turns into two guys buying it and putting bunk beds, and a fishing pole rack in it and using it for trips. I also hear that it wasn't stolen and they just put a bunch of stuff in it to keep it alive or whatever which would explain all the extra wires under the dash, and even used it for stump pulling, which would explain the huge dent in the back door and the trailer hitch(lucky it didn't get the windows...). And from there, it disappears and you know the rest.
Story two is the better of the two as Amy had seen it when the two guys owned it and played with it, but if anyone can add to this story, it would be much appreciated.
Oh, by the way, if anyone is interested, I have a set of '63/'64 Caddy hubcaps for sale or trade if anyone has parts That I can use. Right now, I am looking for interior parts mostly, but also need rear bumper ends, and the little jewel things between the red and white lenses on the taillights. Also a gas cap since people keep stealling mine...
