Zan's World 2004

>
September 8th - 21st

Hi Eveyone!!! Well, I am working on getting back into the swing of things with Zan's World. The last two weeks have been pretty fun! The remodeled 24 hour fitness has opened across the street and I am definitely trying to get my membership worth. I leave for MExico in 34 days! Have lost 5 pounds and have 11 to go!!!!!

I mostly have just been dieting and working out except for Saturdays. Last Saturday I went to football at Damons Restaurant at 9am. That evening I went and saw TEARS FOR FEARS and 5 FOR FIGHTING at a free concert in pioneer square. It was awesome. We were in the 4th row and it wasnt crowded at all!!! After that we went to a sushi place and then off to a really crowded club. I had some friends inside that managed to get us to the front door and skip the 2 hour line. The bouncer looked and me and said "Theres 3!!! of you, I thought it was only 1!!!! Being the quick thinker I am, (ahahah) I grabbed a $20 out of my wallet and said "no sir, I believe there's 20!!!" He quickly pocketed the money and we were in like flynn!!!!!!

During the past two weeks I have taken Yoga, Turbo Kickboxing, Strength Endurance Training, Played Dodgeball and have enjoyed the sauna and whirlpool. I have also logged a few miles on the treadmill!!!!

Last weekend on Friday night I grabbed a quasadilla with my friend Craig, we saw the movie Wimbledon (it was good) and grabbed a couple of beers at the Rock Bottom Brewery. Home by 11pm.

Sat. AM it was up for Yoga and then off to watch MSU football at Damons sports bar and restaurant. After that my friend Nancy and i grabbed a glass of wine at the Henry, bought some food and made a big pasta dinner at my house.

Up early!!!! and walked the 5K race for the cure, + the 3+ miles to get there and back. Later in the evening I met pucca shell guy and Elizabeth for dinner at Paragon. Fun Weekend!!!!!!

Funny story, I went to the New Balance store to buy some tennies. The KID asked me what size I was and I said 8-8.5 he said let's measure, your 9-9.5 I was like well, whatever. So I tried on some MONDO HUGE tennies and decided to go the movie. I mentioned to the other kid I shouldnt be a 9! and he said, AND I QUOTE!!!! " When you hit 50 Osteoporosis sets in and your feet tend to get larger" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH is all I have to say to that!!!!!!! 50!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok, not much planned for the weekend. Again, it's all about work, working out, protein shakes and a salad. (Except for Saturdays).

Labor Day weekend

For Someone that had NOTHING TO DO for Labor Day weekend at 5pm on Thursday it turned out to be quite a weekend!

Thursday I went over to the salon and had a wax, then hopped over to the park to watch a band and enjoy First Thursday. Ran into my friend Mark there and we headed over to Paragon for dinner. More people showed up. Then we went over to look at the ART at the Lawrence Gallery and THEN went to OBA. I went home after OBA!.

Friday I more or less worked from home. I met my friend Sue for lunch and met some other friends for dinner at Paragon. They have these great guys that Play Spanish Guitars. After that my friend Joe (OK, it was a date) came and got me and we went to the Green Room where there was a band. His friend owns it.

Saturday it was up and out the Door. MY friend Ariya picked me up and we went wine tasting all day. The weather was gorgeous and we had the convertible. Dinner at Paragon AGAIN. (Love those guitars!). I called it quits after that. I was so tired from all the fresh air (and wine tasting). Monday we drove and drove and drove and sightsaw the coast. Ended up in Seaside hanging out on the COLD beach, riding bumper cars, eating. Got a room in Seaside and played in the pool and hot tub all night. It was fun.

Up at 5AM to drive back for work. That was NOT FUN!

June, July, August

Hi Everyone - It has beena long time and I apologize. I managed to ERASE everyone's emails at work and just had the time to put them all back in!!!

The summer has gone very fast here as it always does. I went to RED BULL FLUGTAG where people make crazy contraptions and ride them off of a 30 foot ramp ito the river. That was fun.

Ive had many business trips over the summer and have been back to Michigan 3 times. I also went to visit a friend in Palm Springs. I have found my calling in life, to sit in Karen's pool and play fetch with her dog!! I did some great shopping in Palm Springs and we had long drawn out lunches everyday. It was really fun and really relaxing, along with hot and sunny.

Dating is still going NOWHERE!!!!

The last two weeks I was on a business trip. I was in Kentucky for a week and was working nights, so I had days to myself. I went to Kings Island amusement park one day and also to the Northern Kentucky Aquarium. Saw Princess Diaries 2 which is a really Great movie.

Sat. I flew home to Michigan and went to the yacht club, slept and walked the dog for several days. It was fun.

Monday it was off to Memphis and NAshville TN. Between work I managed to eat some Mississippi Catfish, BBQ in downtown Memphis, go to Elvis' birthplace, Eat dinner at the Opryland hotel (a must see!) and tour the Jack Daniels Distillery, which by the way, is in a dry county and all the water used to make JD comes from an underground cave in "the holler". It was a really interesting tour.

No more trips planned for now, Im heading to Cabo San Lucas the week of Oct. 25th and my parents are coming out to visit the week before.

June 17th, 2004

Hello Everyone and what a crazy and fun and wonderful weather weekend it was. As you know my friend Darcie flew up for the weekend from Sacramento.

I picked her up Friday morning around 11am. We headed back to my house and dropped off her stuff and the weekend began!!! We headed out for a bite to eat, and then walked a good LONG WAY down to the waterfront. The weather was Gorgeous!!! We sat along the river and had a beverage, walked halfway back and had an Oregon Beer Sampler from the Rock Bottom, but BOY OH BOY was it a big one!!!! we trollied back to the Pearl and had some pizza, again outside.

Ahhhhhhhhh a little R and R.

Got ready and headed up the street to the VAULT Martini Bar, again outside and making new friends every step of the way. Over to the Henry, the bouncer from their came wtih us to Aura. We got back to my place and my neighbor invited us to go hot tubbing on the roof (he's in the Penthouse). That was fun!!!!

Saturday, off to eat again and we walked to the mall. Darcie helped me to pick out some GREAT new tops!!!! Back to Rock Bottom and home to get ready,

Not like we're in a rut, but back to the Vault, then to the HEnry and then a short jaunt to Kel's Irish Pub.

Sunday we headed out to eat and realized the Gay PRide Parade was going to go right past my house!!! We got a GREAT TABLE at Manzana and watched the two hour parade. It was super fun!!!!

I trollied with Darcie out to the airport, came back and met Sue BACK AT MANZANA and then headed home.

WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!1 What a long and crazy, but fun and spent outside weekend.

Too bad on Tuesday the weather turned COLD AND HORRID and we've been averaging about 65 with wind and rain and total darknes outside. SUMMER COME BACK!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone - Sorry about the huge delay in ZANS WORLD but again, I have been so busy its been insane!!!! ( I got enough emails from people that thought I stopped writing). I made a trip to SAC for some SUN, we had a great time, concert in the park, boating on the river, a pool party and a HUGE Memorial Day party on the river at Vic's. I got VERY tan and am not so pasty now!!!!

This past 1.5 weeks I went to.....ready.....TN, AK, MS, KY, MI and Ohio!!! and do I have a few good stories for you!!!!!

First of all, I was going throug the Cinncinati airport, here I am on the escalator and BAM!!!! it stops, mid ride!!! Everyone jerks forward, but catches themselves, not me! my suitcase hit the back of my leg, and there I am LAUNCHED into the sky!!!! The guy behind me grabbed my shirt and the guy in front of me put up his elbow to stop me. WHEW! another emergency room visit averted!!!!

I arrived safely in Memphis and its off to our business dinner. Well, here I am sitting in PF CHANGS in Memphis, but who should be at the table next to me? Well, the ONLY guy I have ever broken up with that I NEVER want to see again. (Stuart). Needless to say, my dinner was ruined! I guess he lives in Memphis now. So the week goes on...

Business wise it went very well, I took our new engineer out there, we had supplier meetings and did som esupplier plant tours and visists. Nothing like 90 degree heat, 90% humidity and being in un air conditioned warehouses with huge DIRT BLOWING fans. We were gross everynight.

Thursday, Dave and I (Our new engineer) were leaving Jackson, TN and we were at a light. This huge FED EX truck was on the right and turning left into our oncoming lane. He looks out the window and laughs and then proceeds to cut off our car!!! Im screaming, DAVe, put it in reverse!!!!! put it in reverse!!!!!!!! as fast as we backed up the truck almost ran us over. CRAZY!!!!!

But the trip in ZANS WORLD only gets better!!!!

So, there's this guy I like in Portland, Spencer, he's a Michigan State U. packaging engineer for Freightliner here in Portland. He just HAPPENED to be in Memphis for business nearby. Thursday night I picked him up and went downtown in Memphis. There's a famous hotel there called the PEABODY, we went up to the roof where there was a huge party, band everything! Great view! It was fun, after that we walked over to Beal Street. Went to a bar called Club 152 and had some BBQ and watched the first half of the Pistons game, then went to Silky O Sullivans dueling piano bar and watched the second half of the game. Pistons won! (Obviously). So, we go and head home....got a little lost, OK, we ended up in Mississippi, OOPs! But it gets better....Im driving down the highway and I see ALL THESE POLICE CARS BEHIND ME...obstructed by something...all of a sudden this 85 Impala or some such car goes flying around me....then comes the cop cars, zoom!!! zoom!!! zooom!!!! IM IN A HIGH SPEED POLIC CAR CHASE!!!!!! Spencer is sitting over there singing "bad boys, bad boys...." and Im freaking out!!!! ITS TIME TO LEAVE MEMPHIS!!!!!!!!

Side note...we ate catfish in Mississippi, in this CRAZY restaurant that has wood paneling and ceiling fans and those vinyl and silver chairs your grandmother had in her kitchen. It was like stepping back in time!!!! Then theres the BBQ we had in Arkansas, put this restaurant in Portland and it would be considered "THEMED", people and all....Toto, your not in civilazation anymore! One of the women at our table was telling us how she catches frogs "out back" and makes frogs legs....Scary!!!!!

So, on to mom and dads in Michigan for the weekend. Relax. We went to the yacht club, BBQd on the back deck, went to church and I walked the dog. A nice, relaxing weekend with the folks.

Monday! Up at 6am and flew to Kentucky. Went straight into work. Picked up Dave at 2pm at the airport and drove to KINGS ISLAND AMUSEMENT PARK!!!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Rode the Beast and the Son of the Beast and many more awesome rides!!!! Fun afternoon!!!! 10pm. Time to HEAD BACK TO WORK. Got done around 1:30am and back to the hotel to bed.

Good thing was that I got to fly home the next morning. This was GREAT because I got to watch the Pistons WIN!!! and get Tuxxie and Tazzie out of the kennel and unpack, etc.... Wed. was a crazy day at work.

I will try harder to keep up on ZANS WORLD. This weekend my friend Darcie is coming to visit from Sac so Im sure their will be more fun stories.

Oh yes, another meal. I ate in Kentucky at this little restaurant. WOW! just take a photo of this place and these people and write "You've now entered KIN-TUCKY! next to it.

Take care and Love and miss you all!!!!!

April...the month of

The crazinees has started. We are getting REALLY BUSY at work and right now Im doing the jobs of two engineers. We are currently interviewing for a new one. We have 3 good candidates, so should have one on board soon. I went to Kentucky for work again, and WHOAH STOP THE PRESSES!!!! we had an issue, so I had to have them shut down and redo the plates until MOnday. So, I decided to go to MI for 4 days. I had to shop for clothes and actually worked from my parents office most of the time. Did manage to hit the yacht club and the pizza place for dinners and buy a much sought after COACH PURSE. A SMALL PURSE with a long strap!!! (thanks mom!!!). Well, MOnday I left Michigan, picked up my rental car in kentucky and went to work. SPent 5 more fun hours in the Northern KEntucky airport and flew out to San Diego. CANT COME HOME YET. ($$$$ at the kennel). So from their I went and visited the San Diego group and then this guy Brian and I drove to LA for a 5pm-7pm meeting at the STAPLES distribution center. Went well, but was EXHAUSTED. Flew back to Portland, Wed, one step ahead of a cold!!! Well, just so as to make sure I got sick....

Thursday I worked and then went out to FIRST THURSDAY HERE in the PEARL DISTRICT. Ended up at TWO fabulous LOFT PARTIES and a few bars...worked on Friday AM, had a manicure and pedicure in the PM. I was walking on NW21st and came across a bar with everyone sitting outside, it was nice out. Very local neighborhood so I got sucked into the crowd and the sun!!! was home at 8pm...soon to bed after.

Saturday proved to be a nice day so I headed out to the park by my house to watch the little kids play in the fountain. Laid in the sun. Ate some Quiznos. Then I went home and got ready.

The winery I belong to DUCK POND was having a food and wine pairing for members. Bryan picked me up and we headed off to that. AFterward he dropped me off at a party at my friend Ric's house. Soon to bed..... Sunday I just hung out around the house and cleaned and stuff.

By Monday my cold had caught up with me. Tue I worked from home. I am back today and better, it's Wed. but not great. Ill be quiet tonight. Last night I did have a ticket to see Tom Jones and went. I had dinner with Nancy and MOlly and then we went to the concert. I felt horrible but muddled through it. Women were throwing underwear at this 65 year old man, but let me tell you they werent all thongs, some HUGE Granny panties were going on stage. It was fun, but I didnt feel good.

This weekend I have a dinner reservation to a nearby restaurants "pre opening" party and Saturday night is our friends ROCKSTAR PARTY!!!! Sat and Sun Day I am planning on packing an cleaning!!! Didnt I tell you? I am headed back to San Diego at 5am on Monday and fly back 15 minutes Thursday night before my friend Kelly POniers flies in from Michigan for my birthday. (April 17th) We have rented a limo and are going wine tasting for the day on SAt.....

Bye everyone!!!!!

March 22nd

Hi Everyone!!! What a week and weekend!!!! As you know, last Wed was St. Patricks Day!!! I met "the girls" up at Jakes Restaurant. I thought "How nice, we will have a nice drink here" and I was walking up there...I turned the corner and WOW!!!!!!!!! THEY HAD THE WHOLE STREET BLOCKED OFF with a giant tent, band, beads...WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!! and funny story here, so Im walking home about 9pm and Im REALLY HUNGRY, so I stop in this restaurant for a quasadilla, purposely sat way down at the end of the bar where I can eat quickly and go home!!! (It was a school night), so in comes this guy....walks around the bar and BAM! (of course) sits right next to me. "Hi, Im Jim and I own 13 rental properties " translated; "IM an idiot but think Im gods gift to the bar and the world!!!" so IM TRYING TO EAT and he keeps asking me questions. I tell him I dont date in Portland because everyone is "earthy crunchy", well, he THEN ASKS IF IM A LESBIAN because my "attitude towards men is so bad". HELLO!!! IDIOT!!! BAD ATTITUDE BECAUSE IM TRYING TO EAT DINNER AND GO HOME!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!! I say no and then go back to eating, THEN HE TELLS ME THAT IM CUTE AND SEEM INTELLIGENT so maybe if I worked on my attitude that Id get a date!!! (Now Im just PO'd at the guy) so I ask for my bill and get up to leave...then he has the audacity to say "WHat? your leaving? your not going to have a drink with me". I just walked out at this point, but LOSER!! WHAT didnt he understand the first time I told him I was grabbing a bite to eat AND GOING HOME~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With that done, Thursday I just went to the gym and watched TV!!!

Friday afternoon I got a pedicure and a manicure and then headed to $3 martini's as the BRAZEN BEAN with some folks from the 20s30s club. From there we went to "BARTINI" across the street, my friend Karen met up with some people so we went to an Italian restaurant and...ARE YOU READ?????.........to a JAPANESE KARAOKE BAR!! REAL Japanese people, signing Japanese Karaoke with Japanses character lyrics on screen. It was weird, know I was in Portland Oregon!!!

Saturday the earthy crunchy war protestors were all out, 10,000 of them so I decided to head out of the city and do some shopping..Home Depot, Old Navy, Pier 1.....

Saturday night I got some take out and ordered a movie and my friends called. They put together a last minute movie/pizza night. We watched a movie about Beethoven called "My Immortal Beloved" and it's about his life. IT WAS REALLLY REALLY GOOD!!! A must go and rent!!!!!

Sunday was a long BORING DAY!!! I could have used a friend. I went to coffee and laid out in the park by the fountain, wandered aimlessly around the Pearl District, got some pizza and sat outside, pretended to be a prospective renter and looked at the new apts. two blocks from mine...1 bedroom $1490 with parking!!!! WHEW!!!!! in Porltand!!!!!! but they had a cool rooftop deck with fireplace and hot tub!!!! but Im not paying that or moving again....

My friend Joe came over and we went to OBAs which is a Cuban place and had BAKED ARGENTINA and wine. Its like baked Alaska but REALLY BETTER!!! Chocolate cake and ice cream and caramel and baked meringue...YUM!!!!!!!!!!!! after that I was basically sick so I went home to bed.

Monday at work is UGLY!!!!!!! and tomorrow I leave for "KIN-TUCKEEEEEY!!!" and then to MIchigan until Saturday morning.

March 15th

Hi EVERYONE!!! I had such a CRAZY AND FUN WEEKEND, it's one of the first ones Ive had in Portland where I truly felt comfortable here and like I was out with friends.

Friday I met my new friend Karen for wine tasting at "Oregon Wines on Broadway", though that turned into one BIG TASTE!!! THen we went over to the VOoDoo lounge. MInd you it was early so NO ONE was out yet, except for the rowdy table of 15 next to us!!! well, we met them, they met us and we all WALKED!!!! YES!!!! WALKED!!!!!! up to PAnorama. It was only abuot 9pm so NO ONE was in this HUGE CLUB except for us. We were dancing on the "dance cubes" and yes, I fell off of them AGAIN!!! THATs like the 3rd time since Ive moved here. I need to stay off of them, but no I didnt get hurt!!!! I got home about 11pm...

OK, OK, I forgot to eat dinner and pretty much had to render myself helpless on Saturday. I finally got motivated around 4pm and got ready to head out again!!! BIG ST. PATS day stuff going on!!! I met 8 people for dinner at Al-Amirs, Middle Eastern food. It was so good, I had chicken Shish Kebob with saffron rice in pita bread with "red sauce""mmmmmmmm mmmmmmm mmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AFter that we headed over to the BIG TENT at Kel's Irish Pub. This was quite a party!!! The whole parking lot was a giant tent with food, and beads and bands and t-shirts, etc....WAY FUN!!!! We ran around and danced and sang and had fun. I bounced up to the bar with my beads and singing a U-2 song and the bartend was like "YOU! YOUR CUT OFF!!!" I turned around and was like ME? oops, guess I shouldnt have been having so much fun!!! no big deal though, there's like 20 bartenders out in the tent, and I wasnt going to argue, but I thought it pretty funny since I had only had TWO BEERS!!!!!!!!!!! oh well, they seem to be just randomly grabbing people lately...LEft Kel's about 1:45 am. One of my new friends is a packaging engineer from Michigan State!! OG figure, small world, he works for FREIGHTLINER here in Portland.

Sunday I got up and watched a movie. Then I headed over to Bryans. He washed and detailed my car (so nice!!!!!) and then I watched he and a friend try and hang a TV from the wall, that was boring, yet interesting..a lot of testosterone going on, and then Bryan took his buddy and myself out to pizza.!! NICE!!! He's gota MS. PACMAN though, so I was pretty entertained and hes got a great house that actually gets sun when there is some!!!!!!its on a hill. I watched a movie then got home around 7pm.

Truly a really fun and great weekend!!!!!!!! >

March 8th

Well, Heeeeeeeellllooo there!

The work week was busy. Monday and Tuesday I really THOUGHT about going to the gym, but ended up watching TV and resting after work. Wed. I actually did make it to the gym. Thursday after work I had a business dinner at the City Grille. Had an excellent Steak and excellent bottle of wine. (HAd it Friday also...). After the dinner I went up to Paragon for a little while since it was First Thursday. The place was packed and I had a pretty good time talking to people.

Friday I had the day off, but actually had a lot of work to do. I had a doctors appointment and also watched a movie. Friday night, my friend NAncy and I went back up to City Grille and then over to Paragon...a trend here.

Saturday was a decent day outside. I WALKED all over the city running errands, nails, hair appt to make, picking up credit card from Fri...hahahaha, picking up snowboard, etc...walked and walked and walked. SO, I finally decided to walk over to the video store, get some Chinese take-out and walk myself right home for a quiet Saturday night!!!!!!

Sunday I cleaned the apt and washed off the balcony, hung out at Starbucks. Around 4pm Bryan, a new guy (35, sales rep, 5'7, little heavy) came and picked me up. We went over to see his new house and out to dinner at Outback and then to see Starsky and Hutch. You can wait for video, but it was pretty funny and I enjoyed it!!!!!

March 2nd

Hi everyone!

My how time flies, here it is March already. My Feb. was CRAZY! As you know I went to vegas with the family. The third week of Feb. I went to Louisiana for work. I got to do a little Riverboat Gambling in Shreveport and see a Vegas style show. The following weekend I went up to Mt. Hood snowboarding with "the girls". We had a GREAT TIME! The weather was awesome, the cabin, adorable, on a small river with a hot tub. We ate lunch at Timberline lodge.....where the movie THE SHINING was filmed. I was glad I was there during the day!!!!!

This past week I went to Kentucky for work and then went home to see mom and dad. We went to the yacht club for dinner, ordered pizza one night and I got to play with the puppy. It was relaxing and fun. This month its back to the gym and back on the diet, all that hard work in Jan. has just run down the drain with all my travels!!!!!

FEBRUARY 9th

HELLO WORLD AND I AM BACK!!!!!!!!!! I took the month of January off for a little personal time. I needed it and it was a great way to start the year. I dieted in Jan. and went to the gym 6 days a week. Lost 8 pounds. I also quit drinking for the entire month, went tanning and did a lot of "me things". The month of Feb. is just CRAZY!!!!!

I met my parents, two cousins and aunt (removed) in Las Vegas. We stayed at the Residence Inn and the Mirage. Weather was cold but sunny. We went dancing at Studio 54 and to Taboo in the MGM grand, SHOPPED!!!!!! ate and walked around. I was there for 5 nights. We had SO MUCH FUN!!!!!! I mean a really great time!!!!

This month I have a trip to Louisiana and Ohio for work planned. A snowboarding trip to Mt. Hood and Im going to swing through Michigan for a long weekend. Then in March I think Im going to do the no drinking diet thing again. I am trying VERY HARD this month to put that 8 pounds back on.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Take care and Ill write soon!

January 1st!!!! 2004

Looking back on 20003, there were some high points and some low points. I did alot of travelling for work, which was really fun and I got to go home to Michigan quite a bit. I moved into a condo that is "more me" and A LOT of my friends came up from Sac to visit. I parted ways with some people, which hurt, but life goes on. I made it through my first winter and am in the middle of my second....its been raining for something like 46 days now... CRAZY!!!! The beginning of 2004 is going to prove to be a big shake up at the office, we have quite a few things taking place, and who knows...I might make it to San Diego yet. I am DEFINITELY NOT A "RAIN" PERSON!!!! I have learned that in the last 16 months. I HATE RAIN!!!!!!

Xmas was really fun! I flew home on December 18th and......

November 18th - 24th

Hello All, I hope everyone is getting ready to have a fantastic holiday. I am heading to Sacramento and Daniel is picking me up and I am off to Mendocino for the long weekend. A group of us got a cabin up there. Should be fun and relaxing!!!!!!

Monday after work I relaxed and did some chores, Tuesday I volunteered at the Humane Society. Wed. after work I went to City Grille for dinner with a supplier.

Thursday after work I went to City Grille with another supplier and then we went and smoked cigars.

Friday I worked from home all day. About 5 pm I went to a bunch of bars, but it was to talk to the managers about the up coming Charity pub crawl I am putting together. Ended up having pizza and beer and ROgue Brewery and headed home for a quiet evening.

Saturday I met my friend Amy for coffee and then we went and got facials. I watched a movie then went and got a pedicure and manicure.

For Dinner I met the girls at AL-AMIR, Lebanese food, it was yummy and then we went to.....yes! City Grille. From their I ran into some of my 20s30s club friends and we went dancing at Embers. I got home kind of late.

Sunday I tried ST. Tropaz self tanner. I am now dyed very tan!!! It worked well. I cleaned and watched TV and grabbed some take out for dinner. To bed at 10pm. Back at work today, errands tonight and kennel for the babies tomorrow and a 20s30s meeting, then off to I HOPE SUNNY California.

November 11th - November 17th

Hi Everyone. The week started out bad, but I had a great weekend!!!!! Tuesday after work I had my 20s30s club meeting. Went home and went to bed. I woke up around midnight with a terrible stomach ache, and the next thing you know!! Food Poisoning. I had one of those non-refigerated boxed microwave meals...bad move. THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE!!!! Obviously didnt go to work on Wed. I WAS DYING A SLOW DEATH AT HOME. Still feeling awful I went to work on Thursday. By Thursday afternoon I felt a little better.

Thursday night was our new members night for 20s30s. I had a slice of pizza there, the FIRST THING I ate since Tuesday dinner, its now Thursday night. UGH!

Friday I went and chopped 4 inches!!! off of my hair and got some bangs. Nancy,Sue,Elizabeth and I went over to Vancouver to a restaurant called Beaches and had some dinner, then we grabbed a drink at the Blue Hour, a swanky place in the Pearl and stopped by Paragon. It was about 11pm and I just went home. Still not 100%.

Saturday I got up REALLY EARLY and went to volunteer at the special Olympics bowling tournament. I got to be the awards announce and it was really great. Except for this one athlete, who didnt want to get on the podium and walked up to me...and blew a big spitty rasberry right in my face!!!! GROSS!!!!! REALLY GROSS!!!!!!! but I was standing in front of 100 people so had to carry one. .... Gross!

Spent the rainy cold afternoon watching movies.

ARound 6pm I went up to the ROGUE BREWERY (15% of all proceeds going to the HUmane Society) and had a few beers. I was joined by Sue,Michele,Kimberly and Nancy. We had fun!!! Lots of guys up there paying us all kinds of attention!!!! We then decided to go to Aura, an upscale club, but after one drink, decided that was really boring, so off to EMBERS we went. Technically, its a gay bar, but on Saturday night your hard pressed to find many alternative folks in there, it's just a big dance club. We watched the transvestite stage show on the other side, and danced the night away!!!! Rolled home about 3:30am. Tired and no voice from the special olympics and being out.

Woke up around 10am, but it was cold and raining, as usual, so sat in bed with the kitties and watched some 80s movie with Ally Sheedy.

At 2:30pm, this guy Rob, from 20s30s picked me up. Im not sure if it was technically a date, or we were just hanging out, but it was really fun!!! We went bowling, then to coffee, then played billiards at this swanky billiards place and then went to dinner at PF CHANGS. Got home about 9pm. We had an absolute blast!!!!!!!

October 27th - November 10th

Hi, sorry for not writing Zan's World last week. Zan's world partied too hard in California. Darcie had a great halloween party, I watched the MSU UM football game and went to another party Saturday. It was fun, too much food, too much drink, not enough sleep....so you know what happens. I came home and got sick. Spent all week going to work and working from home and sleeping. I am finally on the mend now!!!!!!

Friday night I went to see the movie RADIO. It was OK, you can definitely wait until it comes out on DVD. Saturday i was up early and extremely productive. Cleaned!!!! had my nails done, bought some fresh flowers at Trader Joes, etc...a good day.

Saturday night a group of 10 of us went to GREEK CUISINA. It is a greek restaurant, with a band and its very interactive. We did the greek dance around the room and got to throw plates. The food was awesome!!! It was a really really fun time!

Sunday I met a friend for Italian food. It was 60 and sunny out, a really nice day. I also met Aprille for Appetizers at MAnzana.

Back to work today......

October 20th - October 26th

Hi Everyone! Well, I am headed back to Sacramento for Darcie's Halloween Party. Should be a good time!

Monday it was work, then I took my friends Tanya and Erik out to dinner at Sungari Pearl as a Thank You for watching Tuxxie and Tazzie. Dinner was Y-U-M-M-Y!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday it was work again, I went home to meet with my landlord. My entire CLOSET racks fell out of the wall and all of my clothes went flying!!! I am actually going to home depot and having a friend put it back together. I just dont think my "landlord" will do a good job. Right now I have all my clothes all over the floor. NICE!!!! Tuesday the weather was really nice out so I went for a bike ride up and down the waterfront. It was fun.

Wed, work again....imagine that? :-) and then it was off to the Humane Society Wed. night to play with the kitties and give them some kitty loves!!!!!!!We have a ton of kittens in there, and they ARE SO CUTE. It was all I could do to not take one home. 740 sq. feet....2 kitties.....NO MORE!!!!!!!!

Thursday after work Ariya came over. We headed to Home Depot to get stuff to fix the closet about 4 hours later it was up again. I did buy two really cool trendy lamps for the living room.

Friday I worked from home. Had a manicure at lunch. Friday night I went out for a cocktail then Ariya came over. We went to a loft party at the Gregory. It was fun, small, nice time!

Saturday morning I drove out to Ariya's and we went to the coast. We toured the TILLAMOOK CHEESE FACTORY And then went and had cheese and crackers on the beach. It was a gorgeous day, 70 and sunny!!!!! We had a cocktail on the beach and then grabbed a pizza. His folks have a cabin near Rockaway beach. We had pizza and played blackjack and watched a couple of movies. A GREAT RELAXING EVENING.

Sunday, breakfast and headed home. It was another gorgous day so I had to take advantage of it! I took a REALLY LONG walk through the city to Molly's. I helped her move some stuff to her new house. It's a great house, then took a LONG WALK back to the condo. That night Molly, her mom, Nancy and I went to Thai food. A fun evening!!!!!!!!

October 13th-October 19th

PRETEND your on a scary ride and your all dizzy.Thats what this background does...Happy Halloween",,,,,,,,,,I hope my normalcy the next few weeks doesnt throw anyone off!!!! THough still REALLY BUSY!!! Just not being the world traveller anymore, which is kind of nice.

As usual, I am back in my diet and trying for the 150th time to lose weight. This one was successful before I did all that travelling. Monday after work I headed to the gym. I was supposed to take friends out to dinner but they had to cancel, so ended up getting take out as I was craving crispy chicken (diet was good all day). Tuesday I had a ton of chores to do after work and then had a 20s30s club meeting. Got home around 9pm and was pretty close to right to bed.

Wed. the weather continues to just deluge on us and be REALLY DARK AND SCARY And about 50 degrees. Really wish I had a fireplace or a house, but.....after work I hit the gym and then did some self things (hair, teeth, facial,etc........)

Thursday after work I volunteered with the kitties at the humane society. Got home and watched my buddy Jon on Survivor.

Friday I had the day off. Slept in....ahhhhhhhh, cuddled with the kitties...ahhhhhhhhhh, then headed to the spa for "a treatment" , then had an exciting afternoon of napping. I did make it to the gym. Friday night my friend Greg from Sacramento. He was helping a friend move over the weekend back to Sac. I picked him up about 7pm from the airport. After that we met some friends and went to Mc Fadduns. A younger ccrowd, a HUGE Irish bar and they play all 80s music. It was fun. We managed to get home by midnight.

Saturday, I took Greg to meet his friend and came back and got all cleaned up for my TV debut for the Oregon Humane Society telethon. UNFORTUNATELY (AND THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOULL EVER HEAR ME SAY THIS) it was 75 and GORGEOUS OUT. Which was bad because a lot of people were outside and not indoors watching TV and the telethon. I worked from 11-5 and then took a long walk home. SO, funny story!!! The telethon T-Shirts that they gave us were BRIGHT YELLOW and said "CALL ME" really big across the chest. Let me just tell you, this is NOT the shirt you want to be wearing walking around downtown~!!!!!

Saturday night I met Aprille and Hedy for sushi. Hedy went out and APrille and I went over to the Blue Hour for a cocktail. The Make a Wish ball was next door and we ran into a group of my friends. They were all dressed up and looked absolutely wonderful!!!! We had a drink at Manzana and I was home by 11pm. Nice!

Sunday I lounged in the AM, watched some TV and played with the kitties. At 12:30pm my friends Rob and Diana came from Sacramento. She is here on business. We rode the streetcar and walked all over downtown. The weather pretty much cooperated with us too. We hit happy hour at City Grille MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM and called it an evening about 6:30pm. A GREAT WAY to spend a Sunday!!!!!!

October 7th - October 12th

Pretty normal week here. Tuesday after work I went home and caught up on bills and what not. Walked up to Whole Foods and got a shish kebob and grilled veggies for dinner.

Wed. after work I had a business dinner. We went up to the 30th floor of the financial building and ate at the Portland City Grille. (One of my favorite places!)

Thursday after work it was a stop into Old Navy to find a cute shirt, run a few errands, get all ready, watch survivor and then off to meet a friend at Kels Irish pub.

Friday, worked from home! the weather has been horrid here, raining EVERYDAY since I came back, but then again...unless I say otherwise just assume its 55 and raining here!

Friday night Ariya came over and we had some wine and rented a movie. Quiet night.

Saturday I went to a housewarming for a woman at work. She lives WAY OUT in the middle of nowhere, but cute cabin type house.

Saturday night Ariya and MANY of his cute friends and I went to a bar called McFadduns. REALLY REALLY FUN PLACE!!!!! Again, not too late of a night.

Sunday went up to the new Safeway, they are tearing down the SCARY SAFEWAY Across the street. Its a nice store, but very clostraphobic. In the afternoon I went and watched baseball and ate with my friend Joshua.

september 22nd - October 6th

Another two week Zan's world here. I had a trip to Georgia for work and then to Michigan to meet the new puppy and the MSU homecoming game....

Back on Monday the 22nd I started to lead what most people would consider a normal life. I was in town all week and feeling the wrath of hiking the weekend before on my body....sore! sore! sore!

Monday after work I went for a long bike ride along the waterfront, it was a gorgeous day, and they are very numbered here. After that I took a short walk to get some dinner at Whole Foods.

Tuesday was much of the same. After work I hit the gym and stretched out and worked out, hence, making my body MORE SORE on Wed.

Wed. (I feel so normal this week). At lunch I walked a mile, it is SO GORGEOUS OUTSIDE THIS WEEK. After work and some errands and I headed to the gym.

Thursday was another incredible day!!!! I went for another walk at lunch and then volunteered at the Humane Society for a few hours in the evening.

Friday worked from home. Some errands at lunch and stayed in FRIDAY EVENING!!! Packed, cleaned and got ready for my big trip. Also went to the mall and did some shopping.

Saturday it was up and off to Mt. ST. Helens with Ariyah. Remember, Ive only been hiking once and this time we had to bring pants/sweater/water/food..etc...I had to carry a backpack...UGH!!! ITS BIG TIME NOW...It was so crazy at one point we were about 100 stories up on a 20" wide trail...we had fun and did about 5 miles!!!1

Saturday evening we managed to rally and meet up with Nancy and friends at the OKTOBERFEST party and then we all went dancing at Embers!!!!

Sunday I did NOTHING! Sunday night I went out and had dinner with a friend and early to bed.

Monday off to Atlanta. I got my rental car and headed off to see my friend Viv and Dan Winterbottom. It was SO GREAT TO SEE THEM!!! THEY have an adorable 2 year old names Blake, Dan and Viv look wonderful, Georgia seems to agree with them. We caught up on life and headed out to dinner. I stayed over. (They have an incrdibly GEORGOUS HOME!!!!!!!!!). Tuesday I hung out with Viv and went out to lunch then headed up to my hotel in Kennesaw.

Went out to a fancy schmancy dinner for work.

Wed. it was up and off to the office then back to the hotel to work all afternoon. I was picked up at 4:30pm and HEADED OFF TO GAME TWO of the Atlanta Braves playoff game. DID I TELL YOU WE HAD BOX SEATS ON THE FIRST BASE LINE???I did!!! It was their annual customer appreciation night and I just so happened to be there for a press check!!!! Woo-Hoo it was fun!!!

Thursday it was off to Michigan for some fun! (Like I wasnt already having some!!!) I got to meet the new puppy, "Midnight" what a bouncing, barking, ton of personality for 3 pounds!!!! We headed to the yacht club for dinner...

Friday I had lunch with the folks and then headed off to Julie and Rods, we met up with Kelly and headed up to Rods parents at Michigan State U. HAd a great dinner at the Harrison Roadhouse and then went to a bar. Most of them had REALLY LONG LINEs, so we had to head away from state a bit.

Up at 7AM (that was supposed to be 6, but we all overslept) and headed out to TAILGATE!!!. BOY WAS IT COLD!!!!! Ate and drank in the parking lot, hit the game at halftime, and left in the 3rd to go to RICKS GRILLE.. and relive the college years!!! Hit the bookstore and headed back home!!!! HOW MUCH FUN!!!! KArne K. came in from Phoenix and Mark and Lisa came too!!! FUn! Fun! FUn!!!!!!

Sunday was spent relaxing with the folks and MOnday I headed back to Portland. Scooped up the kitties from Tanya and Erics and now Im back to work.

No more business trips for the year, just Thanksgiving in Sac and Xmas in Detroit!! I made DELTA GOLD and had a lot of fun travelling this year!!!! Now its back to a real life of dieting and going to the gym and being "NORMAL"...

September 8th - SEPTEMBER 21st

(RAINING DAY 2)Finally a whole week home. Monday after work I ran some errands and REALLY THOUGHT hard about going to the gym...but watched HBO.

Tuesday (Still raining)-It has been raining and 60 degrees for 3 days now.....after work, ran some more errands, went and worked out at the gym (THERES A FIRST FOR AWHILE!!!!!!!) and headed to my 20s30s club meeting. Its so good to be normal for a week!

Wed.(MORE FREAKING RAIN) after work it was off to the supermarket (Im making Daniel Lasagna on Friday night,,,I sort of cook Lasagna from scratch, sort of in a put the pre made ingredients together and bake). Then I had a dinner date. We went off to VOODOO, this is a restaurant/bar and Ariyah is a guy I met at the 20s30s masquerade dance we had. It was OK, I guess. He asked me out for dinner and when we got to the restaurant he said he wasnt hungry and to go ahead and order. I felt like a loser so just got an appetizer. I HATE WHEN GUYS DO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont you all miss dating?

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 11. GOD BLESS THIS DAY FOREVER!!! (and yes, its still raining!)

Raining more, I have employed of team of folks to start Friday - ork on the 2004 upgraded version of "THE ARK" has started. My collection of animals is starting with two kitties (Tuxxie and Taz-Taz), will start looking for others soon.

Friday I had a 7am class at work. Took off around lunch and if you can stand this.... I went home and made THE Lasagna...well, sort of. I put the ingredients together in a pan...so I sort of made it!!!!! Daniel is back in town and he came over after work. We rented some movies and ate.

Saturday we were up early and off for a walk. Sat. night we went to the Humane Society barn dance. It was really a fun evening. Sunday we hung out and went out to dinner.

Monday it was off to Florida for work. I had to get up at 4am and then when I got to Floriday I went to dinner and then had to go INTO work at 10pm. I WAS DYING, I was SOoooooooooooooooooo tired!

Spent 3 days in Floriday. It was right before the hurricane so one afternoon we went and bought boogie boards and played in the ocean. Yes, we were the only two people in the ocean. IT was really fun, but I got pummeled by huge white waves more than I got to boogie board.

Wed. night I flew home and sat next to Jon Dalton from the Survivor - Pearl Islands. YEs, he is that cocky.

Thursday work, Friday I had the day off and cleaned and went to the gym and for a walk. Friday night I went out to dinner and a movie with the girls.

Saturday I went hiking all day. It was gorgeous out and we had a good time. I went with this guy named Ariya. After hiking all day we went for pizza. Home to take a nap, then Ariya came back over and we went to a comedy club and then out dancing at a night club. FULL DAY!!!

Sunday I went for a walk again and then went and BBQd at my friend Kevin's house. Then we went and played some pool. It was fun.

September 2nd - September 7th

Hola Everyone!!!! Monday night I just got ready for my trip to Louisiana. Upgraded myself to first class which was nice. Headed straight to the plant and then took myself out to dinner, went for a swim and did some much needed emails. QUIET EVENING!!!!!!!

The next day after work we headed out for one of those REALLY EXTRAVAGANT steak/shrim/lobster dinners. YEs, it's tough to be me. After that we went Riverboat gambling. After three hours I broke even. Time to go!!!!

Friday mroning I worked and then headed to the Aiport. I landed about 5:30pm and Jennifer Brecher did to. We headed back to my house and went out to dinner and hit a few bars and went dancing at Stephano's. That was kind of fun, we met the owner and got to hang out in the VIP room.

Saturday we slept in and then headed out to Multnomah Falls. It was a beautiful day out so we drove an additional 20 miles and went over the "BRIDGE OF THE GODS" and stopped at the dam to watch the Salmon swim up the fish ladder. You can watch from an underwater observation area also.

We had a VERY SCENIC drive back to Portland. From there we walked to the waterfront and around "Saturday market", over to Portland City Grille (30th floor) for YUMMY APPETIZERS and a great view. Home to shower and Hedy, Aprille, Jen and I went out. We went to City Grille (again) and then over to AURA, which was fun and then off to Embers. Shut it down at 4am and headed home. Sunday we had brunch and I took Jen to the aiport. It was a really fun weekend!

I am here all week and not too sure what to do with myself. The word DIET is on the list as well as the gym!!!! It is COLD AND RAINY here and summer is gone just as quickly as it came. This weekend Daniel will be here again and we are going to the Humane Society Benefit. That will be fun. Monday IM off to Florida and the week after to Georgia. THIS TIME I AM REALLY TRYING TO SEE VIV AND DAN AND BLAKE!!!!!!!!

August25th - September 1st

Its back to school time already!!! Where does the summer go? Oh that's right,IT TRAVELS FOR WORK AROUND THE USA.

Monday I worked from home, had like 9 meetings. Didnt do much Monday night.

Tuesday after work I had CREATEC FOAM here and we went over to Portland City Grille for dinner. It was fun. GREAT FOOD, but Im getting fat again eating out all the time!

Wed. it was up and off to Georgia. SOMEHOW HP booked me first class, which was fine with me. Had a very enjoyable flight to Atlanta. Went out to a restaurant called NAVA in Buckhead. Very high end Southwestern. YUM!

Up at 3am PST and off to the plant. Right when I was almost done with my press check the MACHINE BROKE!!! UGH!!! Finally realized it was down for good. I TRIED AGAIN to have lunch with VIV WINTERBOTTOM, but she's 2 hours from the plant and I wouldnt have made it. So I had the afternoon to myself. I went and toured the CNN building. That was fun. Walked over to the COCA COLA museum and went to the gift shop and walked around. FUN! Hot, but fun! Headed to the crazy ATLANTA airport before the holiday weekend and then the MONSOONS CAME. I spent 5 hours in the airport waiting. Luckily there was a Houlihan's across from the gate. Our whole plane was in there I think. Met a lot of interesting people. Airports are like that!!!

Friday I slept in (8am?) thanks to the construction next door and the DARN boom boom machine starting at 7am......off to work, and then Friday night Daniel came over. He has been here in Portland, of course, I have been in Georgia and will be in Louisiana next week. (WE HAVE BAD LOCATION KARMA).

We had a quiet evening, went out to sushi and stopped at a wine bar for a glass of wine and headed home.

Saturday it was up early and dressed in our "weddin duds" and off to some tiny town near Tacoma for his Aunts wedding. Im not going to say too much except the "weddin" was held behind his moms "double wide" and that I am thankful for the dental care I recieved as a child!!1 WOW!!!! those crazy redneck teeth people wear as jokes were modeled after some very real people that live outside of Tacoma, WA.

We stopped by his dads house and then went over to his little brothers. He is married to a very nice woman named Cheryl and they have the CUTEST!!!! 2 year old. (That now knows how to say "My mommies a rockstar").

We met up with a third couple and headed out to a nice dinner on the waterfront. After that it was off to the Karaoke bar....out came the Tequila and our night had begun. WOW!! it was kind of scary. We ended up at the gay bar (NO!!! This was NOT my idea) and Daniel is now known as "Disco Gay Bar Danny", but we wont tell him I told you all that....After that!!! we all ended up back at Charlies' in the hot tub...CRAZY FUN WILD EVENING..

Sunday morning Daniel and I headed out for Seattle. We made sure to call 1-800-nice weather please. We checked into the most fantastic room at the Marriott Waterfront overlooking the ocean and marina and my future yacht/private cruise ship. We walked and walked and walked and walked and WALKED!!!!! around the waterfront and Seattle. Had some clams, had some coffee, had a bloody mary (not necessarily in that order). Around 6pm we were both exhausted, had a somewhat quick dinner at IVERS on the waterfront, grabbed a bottle of wine from the lobby and headed up to rent a movie. We watched "THE BOAT" with Cuba Gooding Jr., well, I watched half of it and TOTALLY fell asleep...the first half was good!!!!

Monday up early and drove back to Portland (3 hours). YES!!!! MORE WALKING..to Powells bookstore and to Whole Foods for dinner and then around the "ART IN THE PEARL" arts festival we stumbled across. OK, IM DONE!!!! Time to watch some TV and have some shish kebob for dinner!!!!

I dont know my schedule yet for the next two weeks, I am getting up at 4AM to go to Louisiana tomorrow and I land 4 minutes before Jen Brecher gets here to visit this weekend. Rumor has it next week I am going to GEORGIA,FLORIDA and possibly Kentucky....they just havent told me yet, and I hope they do soon because I WILL need to book the kennel. Tuxxie is already mad at me for leaving her so much.

Take care and be glad if you have some time to RELAX!!!!!!

Augsut 18th - 24th

Hi Folks! OK, funny story, well, it wasnt funny at the time. Monday morning, 8am! Im sitting at my desk shaking up my protein shake. The lid flies off and the next thing you know Im COVERED IN PROETEIN shake, pants, shirt, hair, arms, desk, chair...EVERYTHING. I had to sit there until noon, until I could break away and shower and change and redial back in from home. UGH!!! Everyone tried to rush over to help me, but I just stood there with this horrible look on my face.

So, Monday afternoon was spent working at home. I THOUGHT about going to the gym, but didnt, ended up going grocery shopping and doing some light cleaning around the apt.

Tue. it was work, then I volunteered at the Humane Society after work and played with kitties...and hugged kitties and told them how wonderful they were and that they'd get adopted soon!!!!! After that RIGHT when I got home my friend Tanya was up the street. I met her and then she came over for awhile. Then, Hedy called and begged me to come across the street and hang out with her while she ate dinner. She's having some family issues, so I did. TO BED FINALLY!

Wed. it was work and then off for a manicure and pedicure. It was such a gorgeous night out I stopped at this outdoor Bistro (Manzana) and had a grilled artichoke and bread with oil and a glass of wine. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh that was nice!

Funny story on Thursday. My friend Deanna, well her adorable little 5 year old son TREVOR, decided he doesnt want to eat his PB&J so he threw it in the air, where it caught on the ceiling fan!!!!!! Deanna said there was PB&J all over the HOUSE. Carpet, walls, ceiling, table....I thought it was funny. Not my house, I dont have kids.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :-)

Daniel is still in town, but he's about an hour away in Salem, OR. I have Friday off so after work I embarked on a trip down to Salem. Nice day, had the top off the car. (Yes, diet has gone to hell in a hand basket again!). We met and went out for dinner.

Friday I had off and went to the gym and ran errands. Friday night APrille and Hedy and I went out for HEdy's birthday. It was one of "those" nights and the Tequila was flying....UGH!!!!!!

Saturday I went over to help set up for the big 20s30s Masq1uerade ball. Unfortunately, attendance was low, but those that were there had a great time. WE had a HUGE silent auction and all came away with some GREAT prizes!!!! We Danced and ate until 2am!!!!!!

Sunday I did nothing.

Things are super crazy here at the office and I think ZANS WORLD will be on hold for awhile. Im going to be in Georgia (twice) and Louisiana and Seattle and Brecher is coming to visit...just CRAZY!!!! I tell you! At least the computer freaked out at work and booked me FIRST CLASS to Georgia!!! Wo--HOo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Augsut 11th - 17th

Hi Everyone! Hope this week finds you all well!!! Monday after work I went for a nice long bike ride up and down the waterfront. It was a great evening and a great ride, except for the scary part of the waterfront with all the homeless and freak people. I rode fast in that part.

Tuesday it was up and off to Atlanta, Georgia. Nice middle seat, 2 hour delay on the plane. Saw ANGER MANAGEMENT with Adam Sandler, it was OK, ending was good, movie itself was slow. When I arrived in Atlanta we went to Buckhead to a GREAT restaurant called Hal's for steak. YUM! Mortons has nothing on this place. Stayed at the Hampton Inn. Up at 4am (PST) and off to the plant. WOOPS! one of our print plates ripped so I spent ALL DAY hanging out with the owner of the plant and the other suites, waiting for the new plates to arrive. Went to a little cajun restaurant for lunch. Drove past where the olpympics were held on my way back to the airport. Saw FINDING NEMO on the way home. A MUST GO SEE!!! It was so cute and such a feel good movie!!!!!!! :-)

Thursday I slept in a tad and it was back to work. My friend Diane from Sac is up here on business for Intel so we met up after work on Thursday. We walked around the PEARL DISRICT and up to the shops on 21st. had some pizza (yum!) and then went to a few wine bars.

Friday it was up early and off to sightsee at Multnomah Falls. Very pretty. Afterward, we drove around downtwon Portland, went out to lunch at took a nap. Off to happy hour on the 30th floor at the City Grille. Back to my place. Daniel arrived aorund 9pm, we hit a wine bar and chatted, then it was early to bed again!!!

Up early and off to see what we could see. We went Oregon wine tasting (Duck Pond, Argyle, etcc...) then drove to the coast. We had lunch at a grille right on the beach overlooking HAYSTACK ROCK. It was gorgeous to say the least!!!! IT actually looked a lot like Cabo San Lucas and it's rock. We wound our way back home aroun 9:30pm. There was a party to go to, but the three of us were EXHAUSTED and early to bed we went again! We tried to get to the TIllAMOOK cheese factory, but our drive was longer than we expected, and we kept stopping at places....next time.

Sunday Daniel, Diane and I met Hedy for brunch, then the 3 of us walked around the Pearl some more. Daniel and I took Diane to the airport and said good bye. WHat a fun weekend!!!! I went home took a short nap, then Daniel and I started "the walk", we walked about 5 or 6 miles (3 hours at a leisurely pace). We walked upi the Park blocks to Portland State, we found a Harley Davison bike show in the park. Walked through PSU down to the waterfront and walked ALL THE WAY along the waterfront and eventually winded back to my place. It was a beautiful day and we were enjpoying ourselves. Out to Sungari Pearl for dinner, watched some TV and called it an evening. Daniel is here this week, but in Salem. We are going to his Aunt's wedding in two weekends and It looks like Im going to meet the WHOLE family.......

Augsut 4th - 10th

Hi Eveyone! Slowly but surely I am getting my life back on a "schedule". I have started my protein diet again, and am back in the gym...sort of, well, trying...and volunteering again. It feels good to be living a "normal" life again. July was tough with business trips, moving and the houseboat!!!!!!

Monday it was off to work. EVERYONE is on vacation this week so I decided to do all of my afternoon meetings from home. That was nice. Off for a manicure and pedicure, watch some TV and to bed EARLY!!!!!!!

Tuesday was COLD AND RAINY....Thunderstorms..showers....after work I had a 6pm 20s30s club meeting to organize decorations for the upcoming MASQUERADE BALL FUNDRAISER IM working on. I went to the Lucky Lab Pub and no one showed up, so I drove ACROSS Portland to the other one, and no one was their either...they changed the location and forgot to tell me. Oh well, the drive was actually nice. After that, I was supposed to go with Andrew to some Civil War discussion group, but I could hardly keep my eyes open so I declined and went to bed, nice and early for the second night in a row!!!!!!

Wed. the weather started out bad, but it got up to 69 and was a little sunny. Work was busy. Afterward, I went to the supermarket and headed home. Thought about the gym,(I REMEMBER THAT PLACE!!!!) but pulled/stretched some muscle in my neck and back and its KILLING ME!!!!!!

Thursday was "FIRST THURSDAY" so I met some people at Paragon for cocktails and swung by OBA and Manzana, but it was an early night since I had to work Friday.

I did work from home Friday, NICE!!! then I volunteered at the Humane Society Friday night. I adopted out 4 kitties. One was this HUGE 20 pound hairy cat with a cold. He went to a nice couple in their 20s. I was feeling pretty good Friday night! Went home and went to bed early.

Saturday at 7am!!!! I helped underprivelaged kids shop for clothes at Mervyns. I have never really felt old, but I had this 13 year old that thought I was the biggest loser dork to hit the planet!!! Ugh! I used to be so cool!!!!

After the mall and DMV I settled in and watched TV the rest of the afternoon. Saturday night I went out to some places in the PEARL. Not too late of a night.

Sunday at 7am!!!!!!!!!!!!! I woke up to all these voices!!! A WALK A THON was going through my courtyard, so much for sleeping in! I got up and decided to go to church. Churck is held in the Gallery Room at Paragon (Restaurant/bar) I felt kind of torn since I had just been cocktailing there the night before. Figure I can just get soused, spend the night and be the first one to church! Ha-Ha-Ha.

Sunday afternoon I cleaned and watched some TV. Around 4pm I went up to City Grille and met some friends up there for happy hour. They have the BEST food there for happy hour. Got home around 7pm and relaxed.

This week I have the joy of flying to Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday and coming back on Wednedsay. UGH! Crazy!!!!

July 29th-August 3rd

WOW!!!!!!! It's AUGUST. I am SO NOT READY FOR THE RAIN to come back. NOT FAIR!!!!!

After the houseboat, my plan was to come back and BE QUIET. Well, I guess I have made enough friends that this is not happening, and to tell you the truth, I am not complaining. I have signed up for a TON of volunteering this August. MY friend Diane (Jenkins) is going to visit the weekend of the 14th, so maybe FINALLY Ill get out of the city and see the ocean.

I took Tuesday off work as Mandatory R and R from the houseboat and got the kitties from the kennel. They like the new condo, but Tuxxie Doodles keeps trying to jump over the balcony ledge. Problem. Both have been running around and driving me nuts. Tuesday night I went across the street to meet friends for a birthday dinner at Manzana. Its EXACTLY like Bandera's!!!! FINALLY - sleep 9pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wed. back to work. 418 e-mails and it was a long ugly day. TIRED, home and did some chores. The phone rings and its my friend Dave, who I met when I moved here. OK, you talked me into it, THAI food on 23rd ( I havent been grocery shopping for the new place yet - yeah, thats it!!!!) and then a sunset boat cruise on his friends boat. It was nice.

Thursday, work, stop at Humane Society and pick up flyers to distribute, supermarket and HOME!!!!!! I MEAN IT this time!!!!!!!!

OK, not quite the case AGAIN....my friend JOE just got back from a month in Spain and wanted to get together for a drink and to regale all of his tails...we had a nice time.

Friday I worked from home, which was nice, but it wad a busy day!!! We had one of those "email avalanches" where everyone replies to everyone and it drives you nuts!!!! About an extra 80 emails. Nice!!! Walked up to Whole Foods for some dinner and then spent a NICE QUIET evening home alone and went to bed early!!!!!

Saturday I got up and went for a drive, then walked about 500 miles passing out the humane Society flyers, walked ALL THE WAY to movie theatre (another 500 miles) and went and saw Charlie's Angels. I thought it was REALLY GOOD!!!!!! Saturday night I went out dancing with my friend Josh. Home late.

Sunday, brunch at Hogans, and then a quiet afternoon at home. It was pretty cold and cloudy both Saturday and Sunday. I ended up meeting Josh and Nicholas at the "Silverado",(A VERY gay bar by my house). We had cake for their friends birthday and their were many many many men!!! and dancers!!! woo-hoo!!! Granted, none of them were interested in me, but it was fun all the same!!!!!!!!

Back to work for a long week ahead...have a nice week!!!!!!

July 25th - July 29th

Hi EVERYONE!!! and welcome back to Zan's World!!!

This past weekend we had the annual houseboat trip. (6th I think). This marks the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY I have been in Portland. Can you believe it? Portland is a much better place in the summer than the other 9 months out of the year. There is actually quite a lot to do here in the summer and I am FINALLY making a great group of friends that do a lot of fun things!!!!

Thursday I had the day off of work and got some last minute things done (nails, packing) and I embarked for the airport, took the 8pm flight out to Sacramento. My friend, Darcie picked me up at the aiprot, we went to the Blue Cue where my MSU alumni buddies were hanging out, then we went to So Cals.

Up and out to breakfast at 33rd st. Bistro and for a little shopping a the mall. Around noon I headed up to the houseboat with Deanna. The weather was great the whole time and EVERYONE outdid themselves preparing for this trip. We finally have everything down to a fine science.

Friday afternoon we got the boat all settled and caught up with each other. We had CHIIIIIcccccken for dinner. (Inside joke). Played our usual hours of catch phrase and generally just had fun.

Saturday it was early and off wakeboarding. I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! The water was great!!!!!! We floated in our rafts and imbibed. Randy brought a blow up pool. Saturday night we had HAWIIAN NIGHT with Tiki torches and all the gear.....

Sunday it was up and off wakeboarding and Inner Tubing. I bit it SO HARD, but then again, so did everyone...guess that's half the fun.

Sunday night was DISCO NIGHT, with the disco ball and we all got dressed up...more catch phrase after a day of floating again. I AM SO TAN,, the tannest person in Oregon for sure!!!!!!!!!

Just when we were commenting on how smooth the trip went, we were docking the boat and one of the marina guys got on to drive and park us. WELL!!!!! Dont know where he got his permit but we took out two slides on two other boats and totally busted in the back window. Glad he was driving.

BY FAR THE MOST ORGANIZED AND BEST TRIP we've ever had. THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See you next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June 9th - June 19th

Well, crazy days and crazy times. I have been so busy getting ready to move and travelling for work my head is spinning!!!!!

Monday the 9th I found out that the kennel was full for my business trip. LUCKILY MY WONDERFUL FRIENDS Tanya and Eric said theyd take them. So,Monday night I went over and we had a trial visit. Theyll be fine. She has a really big house which is WAY better than the kennel.

Tuesday after work I had my 20s30s club meeting. The weather has gotten gross again, but its not raining, just cold and icky.

Wed. My friend RICK from Sacramento is back in town visiting his mom. HEdy, Rick and I went to sushi and then swung into Paragon and Oba for the heck of it. Still in bed by 9:30pm.

Thursday after work my other friend RIC had one of his "viewing" parties at his house. These are fun, he sets up all the chairs, sofas and we all bring over food and watch something. Thursday it was the 10th anniversary vocal version of LES MIS. Really good.

Friday I Had off. HAd to get an EKG (yes Im fine), and then had a conference call at work and set out to go through my storage bins. One things for sure, Moving makes you get rid of stuff!!!!!!!

Friday nightmy friend Rick was in town from Sac. Hedy, Rick and I headed off to VQ and then to the PILSNER ROOM, and over to City Grille and then home.

Saturday I started in on the closet. Saturday night Kevin and Hedy came over and we had some wine and watched HBO.

Sunday it was back into the closet and 7!!!!! heft bags later I got rid of 50% of my clothes. I am so crazy busy and I have no idea when Im going to be able to move. Sunday afternoon it was gorgeous out so we went down to the riverfront and watched the game. Stopped by Manzana and then sat on the roof.

MOnday it was off to Kin-tuckey. What is worse than a middle seat on a plane? A middle seat that doesnt recline sandwiched between 2 300 pound men. IT WAS HELL!!!!!!! (at least the movie was good!). Got to Kin-tuckey, had dinner and watched a movie. My meeting went very well and was short so I turned in my rental car and punted to get on an early flight. No can do and spent 9!!!!!! hours at the Cinncinati/N. kentucky arport. OH joy oh fun there. I didnt have a seat assignment either and we were oversold by 36 people!!! I CAMPED in the gate line and must have just looked exhausted and was catching a huge head cold now too. I was very polite and just asked for a seat that wasnt wedged between two men and reclined. The gate agent took pity on me and put me in first class. AHHHHHHHH it was a nice 5 hour trip home I slept most of the way in my full reclining chair!!!! Took a town car home. HAd some dinner and headed to bed. Exhausted and now sick.

This is the last Zan's world for a few weeks. I am headed on business to Cinncinati, Detroit (weekend) and then to SHREVEPORT, LOuisiana for TWO WEEKS!!!!! After that I get the keys to my new place and my life will revolve around small car loads going back and forth to the new apartment.

May 27th - June 8th

Hi Everyone - Sorry about missing Zans World last week, just got tooooooo busy. I headed for Kentucky on Wed. AM for work. Then Thursday went to MOm and Dads. My friend Jessica came over for the day with her two little ones 1 and 3. We had a great time. Ordered in for lunch and dinner.

That Friday I hung out at the house and then we went to the yacht club.

Saturday I got up at 1:30AM!! PST and landed at 11am PST so needless to say I napped all after noon. After that I went over to my friend Nancy's wine and cheese party, went to JAKES GRILLE and watched this HUGE PARADE for the Rose Festival and headed home.

Sunday we went to Sungari for lunch and went to the Rose Festival and then to City Grille. I rode that ride where they bungee you into the air in a chair at 80 miles an hour!!! IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!

Monday work and I was tired so just hung out at home. THE WEATHER HAS FINALLY gotten nice here. It is averaging in the 70s and hasnt rained for a WHOLE WEEK!!!! Its not supposed to rain again until WED!!!!!

Tuesday after work I went and sat on the rooftop garden and soaked in some rays from 5-6, got a little sun, I have no where to go because I have give PALE A NEW NAME!!! Then I went and looked at two condos. I rented one! IT'S A great and unique space, just 3 blocks on the same street as where I live. Its cheaper and bigger and has LOTS OF WINDOWS. Underground parking, storage and W/D. :-) The view is still mostly North, which is terrible, but the apartment itself is bright because of all the windows and their are some facing EAST for the morning sun for Tuxxie and Tazzie.

I managed to walk two miles at lunch on tue and wed. and have lost a total of 7 pounds since my highest weight here. Shooting for 16 more, but dont want to jinx it by talking about it. The entire KEELER FAMILY and KING families are on Weight and Exercise programs...look out!!!!n My mom and dad look GREAT!!

Wed. after work their was a rooftop book signing with wine and appetizers. ( I had my protein shake...) but it was nice up there.

Thursday was first Thursday and PORTLAND WAS BOOMING. It is also the ROSE FIESTIVAL and FLEET WEEK combined. Little young sailors all over town. A group of us met in the PEARL DISTRICT to walk around, eat and look at lunch. I then met some friends at OBA for a drink. Then I went and walked around again and found a great piece of art for new condo. It's 2' x 3' and oil and water. I LOVE IT. So, I had to get money and then drag the art home (all within 4 blocks). It is going to look so great in the new condo!!!!! Then I went and met my friends at Paragon. AFter that we went and did a little dancing at Stephanos. The weather was wonderful and there were so many people out.

Friday I dialed in from home. Friday afternoon, later, we went down to the Rose Festival. It was about 96 and I WAS LOVING IT!!!! For a change everyone else was complaining about the weather and I was in 7th heaven!!!! We walked around, watched some kids do ballet on "the big stage", played dumb carnie games...had some food at Manzana, grabbed some wine and went up on the roof and enjoyed the late afternoon sun. I went to bed around 10pm.

Saturday it was up and back onto the rooftop garden with Aprille and Hedy to work on the tan. Then I went and got my nails done. Aprille,Hedy,Nancy and I went down to the waterfront to the Pilsner room and just outside and ate and watched ALL OF THE PEOPLE. Everyone's been cooped up for 9 months and the whole city was out n about. It was prom and all the kids were walking by in their tuxes and dresses, they looked great. It was just one of those nights where we went to about 6 bars. Didnt really drink, but just wanted to check out all the people and be a part of it all. Sailors abound!!!! My poor feet are just covered in blisters because I did this in a little dress and heels. Ive lost 7 pounds and the little dress (one of them) fits again!!! Just 13 more to go!!!!!

Sunday I could barely wear shoes, so I didnt do too much. I cleaned ALL MORNING, barefoot....laundry, balanced checkbook, you know the drill. The weather went back to not so nice, so I hit the supermarket and ordered some chicken and rice in. Watched some TV and played with kitties. The week will be normal for work, have a movie night on Thursday and Im volunteering all day Saturday at the humane society.

May 19th-26th

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!!!! The weather here is raining on and off and averaging about 65-70, not California but Ill take it. The only thing I hate is the MINUTE its not raining out, even if its nasty you want to go outside, just because its not raining. Its a crazy feeling.

Tuesday after work I had to go to the vet. Tuxxie has an ingrown hair, for $55 they gave me some eye goo for her and said if it doesnt get better she will "have to be put out and have surgery", nice! I was like "cant you just put a warm cloth on it and pop it like everyone else!!! surgery!!! thats like $500!!!"

Speaking of more cash flow, I am now considering moving to Washington, they just passed a NEW TAX HERE, even though we have the HIGHEST STATE TAX in the nation, that on April 15th I will have to pay $700!!!! for three years in a row to fund our schools. EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING WITH ALL THE MONEY NOW?????? I LOST $150 a month just moving to Oregon from California the taxes are so high!!!! THIS IS BULLSH$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?????? $700 a year????????????? OVER my regular taxes!!!!!!!! Like I have that kind of money just sitting around... and I dont even have kids or own a house!!!!

Anyway, enough complaining...just had to vent and since this is MY website i did! Tuesday after the Vet, Hedy and I went for a walk and stopped into Sungari Pearl for soup and split a dish. I LOVE THAT PLACE!Then we watched American Idol.

Wed, after work I went to look at a loft. It was crazy, it was like a 1,000 sq. foot room in a warehouse, it was scary. but outside I had a seen a little 6 week old kitten, but it ran off. When we got outside it was hiding in the corner, I picked it up and its leg was all torn up and gross, muscle showing and its intestine was hanging way out of its rear end. I put it in a box and took it to the Humane Society, little baby had to be put down, the poor thing had to have been in so much pain. After I volunteered I cried all the way home. Though Im not to religious I asked God to take care of the little kitty, since he didnt really get a chance to have a good life. I stood there and petted his little head with my finger until they took him away.... :-(. OK, Im going to start crying again....

Went home and WATCHED AMERICAN IDOL!!! GO RUUUUUUBEN, both Clay and Ruben were great!!! What a great show!!!!! I actually watched the end of Mr. Personality (Monica Lewinsky must go!) and she picked the Millionaire! Way to go chiquita!!!!!

Thursday, back at the office. Worked all day and then headed back to the pad to change. Met up with Hedy and we were off....Off to Rock Bottom Brewery to meet some folks for "pre-game beers" and then to walk up to the stadium for BASEBALL!!!! There's a farm team here,THE BEAVERS,their like the Rivercats. They have a huge beer garden along the first baseline. It was kind of fun. We walked home and stopped for a drink, since the walk was so long.

Friday I worked from home. It was 83 and sunny a gorgeous day. At 4pm I was done and took a long walk to get my nails done. After that Hedy and I walked all the way to Kels Irish pub (1.5 miles) and had a beer and walked back. OKEY REALLY BIG BLISTER ON BIG TOE!!!

Saturday it was up and off to the gym, cleaned the apartment, went grocery shopping, went shopping at Old Navy and Mervyns for shorts, shoes and baseball hats...Saturday night we met up with my friend Andrew at BAR 71, basically a nightclub. It was fun!!! We danced the night away.

Sunday was a slow day after Bar 71. Just hung out around the house and watched TV. It was FREEZING OUT AND RAINING anyway. Sunday Hedy and I walked over to Manzana for a Quasadilla and a drink. We saw some people from our building so we got bundled up and sat on the rooftop garden.

Monday it was off to the gym again and then It was home to DO THE CLOSET, at least the shoe part. I threw out 6 pairs of shoes and am going to try and sell another 10 pair to a second hand store. GOt rid of about 20 boxes!!!! Good for me!!! Now I just have to do the clothes part. Ill be moving soon (I have no idea where) and want to take as little as possible. Monday afternoon "JOE" called to see if I wanted to go out on a date. I met him at PAragon on first Thursday. He picked me up and we went to Jakes grille for dinner. Then we grabbed two bottles of wine and met Ross, Hedy, Aprill and Kimberly up on the roof. Yes, it was about 60 and raining, but we sat up there anyway. Off to bed and back to work. TOmorrow I leave for KIN-TUCKEEEEEY again and heading to Detroit for two days also. Woo-hoo, I love when I can go home on the company's dollar.

May 12-18th

Hi Everyone - Been watching the Bachelor and my friend "Camera Ready Hedy" is now calling me "Zan Fabulous", Ive upgraded since Im around so many earthy crunchy people now from "Rockstar Zan". hahahaahahah

New Day, New Diet, new plan to get ready for houseboat trip!!! Monday I "worked from home" have to love modern technology. I went and sprung Tuxxie and Tazzie from the kennel also. Monday night worked out at the gym.

Tuesday WAS SO GORGEOUS, IT WAS AND SUNNY!!!!!!!!! I walked a mile at lunch, went home and worked out at the gym, and then walked another mile home. GREAT DAY. Hedy came over and watched TV.

Wed, alas, the rain and the 55 degree weather, headlights needed at lunch weather is back. ICK!!!! Went to the gym and Hedy came over and we watched TV. Yes, Im addicted to AMERICAN IDOL. I have no idea whos going to win, Clay or Ruuuuuuuuuuuben.

Thursday, REALLY RAINY AND NASTY....worked and went to the gym. After the gym Hedy and I watched the b-ball game and went over to SUNGARI PEARL for dinner, across the street from our apartment building.

Friday, had the day off. Went and picked up my friend GREG from Sacramento. Rick was also in town from Sac, Rick,Greg,Hedy,Elizabeth and Nancy and I all headed to the CITY GRILLE for happy hour, then ran to Manzana,Paragon and Oba. We were all home by 11pm. Greg's friends came and picked him up and Rick had to drive his mom back to Sac.

Saturday I was up at 6:30am. Hiked 1.5 miles to Waterfront Park. I was a "start/finish" monitor for the 16th Annual DOGGIE DASH for the Humane Society. I met another girl who is a packaigng engineer for Intel from MSU. That was cool. The weather broke a little for the dash, then got all nasty again. IT WAS FREEZING OUT TOO!!!!!! THe Dash was two miles and a DACSHUND came in 6th1!! I cant believe how fast that little dog was running!!!! Crazy!!! It was fun, their were a bunch of booths set up. ON the walk home I walked through Saturday Market and grabbed a plate of African Food. What I found out is I do not like African food, but it was an experience. Walked home and took a BIG FAT NAP!!!!!!

Saturday night everyone came over and we all ordered Sungari Pearl to go, then headed to Oba's and then to some bar called EAST (we could have skipped that one) and then off to our favorite! PANORAMA!!!!!! Home about 3am.

Needless to say, slept in until about 11am. Greg and I headed over to Vancouver to go and see the MATRIX with his friends. It was OK. A little to much Kung Foo fighting and bullets for me. Afterward, Hedy, Greg and I went and ate at SUNGARI PEARL, yes, I need take stock out in that place, its like PF CHANGS, but better!!!!!!1

Monday I worked from home. I took Greg to the airport around 3pm, then headed over to the gym. Sore again today, I have started lifting weights again, for real, not just picking stuff here and there and its tough!!!! Went and met Hedy and Aprille on the roof for awhile and then went and watched American Idol. A pretty well rounded week Id say!!!!

May 5th - 11th

Hello everyone out there in Website land, thanks for coming to check into ZANS WORLD. After my wild weekend last weekend, things slowed down again.

MOnday after work it was clean, clean, pack and clean. You guys know the "WORK WEEK DRILL".

Tuesday, I got home and played "let's catch the kitties to go to the kennel". Mind you, this requires not emitting the "notion" that we are going to the kennel, I need to pick up tuxxie and pet her and go and close the bedroom door (non-chalantly)while holding her tightly, AND CLOSE THE DOOR to the bedroom before Tazzie Taz figures out what is going on. Its a challenge to say the least. Then Tuxxie goes into one carrier, by now Taz has figured out the gig. He is so cute, he goes and hides under the glass top table with his back to you, "hiding", its pretty cute, he's easy to get as long as he cant get into the bedroom. Off to the kennel we went. Then it was off to the gym.

Up at 4:30 am and off to beautiful Hebron, Kin-Tuckeeeey. I did get upgraded to first class from Minnesota to KY, then when I got there Hertz had a 2003 Mustang Convertible waiting for me, good day so far. Headed to the plant, then at 8pm we all went out to dinner, let's just say it was well over $100 per person, but mmmmmmmmmm those shrimp and lobster and steak...mmmmmmmmmmm...good supplier dinner.

Up at 6am (3am PST) for another press check, then off to the hotel to work from the room. Headed down to the Cincinnati waterfront to eat lunch outside, great day. Drove around with the top off the car and then back to dial back into the office. Crazy schedule, my next press check wasnt until 3:30am and then again at noon, then it was off to Detroit to see Mom and Dad.

I managed to catch the 3:30pm flight to Detroit. Stayed home with mom and dad on Friday night. Saturday my mom and I went to the Salon and got manicures and pedicures. Ahhhhhhhhhh.

Saturday night it was off to the yacht club. Ahhh the sweet pleasures in life. An early evening and watched some TV at the folks house.

Sunday was Mothers Day, Champagne steak and eggs in the library overlooking the flowering cherry tree and the river. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh to be home.

Headed off to the airport early to grab some dinner and catch my 7pm direct flight back to Portland. Remember the GREAT FLIGHTS I had earlier in the week? Well, I had changed all my flights to exit row and was ready to go. I checked in and was told, not only DID I NOT HAVE A SEAT, but I was number 7 in line to get one. I got a seat, a middle seat, ugh...we took off an hour LATE!!! And then when we were taxi-ing a girl on our plane got sick and we had to turn around to drop her back off at the terminal. We took off and due to weather had to fly south for an extra hour too...Got home around 3AM EST. UGH!!!!!!!!!

This weekend my friend Rick is coming back into town, my friend Greg will be in town and I am volunteering at the 4th annual "DOGGIE DASH" Saturday morning for the Humane Society.

April 28th - May 4th

Hello, Hello, Hello....This week was a very normal week, which is just fine with me as its been kind of crazy lately. NExt week I am off to Hebron, Kentucky for work and then I get to swing through Detroit for the weekend to see mom and dad. VERY EXCITED. Headed to the yacht club and going to celebrate their anniversary and mothers day. Fun! I love when I get to come home.

I have been reading a new book called "Body for Life" and am going to attempt...yes, another diet program. Maybe this is the one.....

Monday after work I was off to the gym and to do some general cleanup around the apt.

Tuesday after work I went and volunteered at the Humane Society, and had "Kitty Mentoring".I like working at the Humane Society but I havent found my niche yet. The doggies there are just so big and crazy....a little too much for me for more than an hour.

Wednesday I decided to work from home. I HAVENT GIVEN my "broken leg computer" back yet, possesion is 9/10s of the law!!!!! Theyll ask when they need it, we make the DARN Things!!!! Its great having a laptop...I SHOULD have a laptop with all the travel I do!!!SHHHHHHHHH, mums the word. After work I went and worked out at the gym.

Thursday, another day at work. It actually stopped raining here so went and walked the one mile around the HP site at lunch. After work my friend Hedy and I stopped at a champagne party for the building going up next to me, then we headed over to look at some lofts. The loft I looked at was abou 1800 sq. feet, it was pretty awesome, so Im keeping that building in mind. It was funny, the guy that owns the building told me "everyone in the building is an Ar-Teest". HA ha I am now a foam corrugated graphics design arteest....hahahahahah.

It was first Thursday, which basically means it just a reason to party in POrtland. EVERYONE was out. We went to OBAs and then to Paragon. Got home about midnight.

FRiday hung out around the apartment. Hedy came over around 4pm and we went to Happy hour at City Grille, but no one was really there. We went back up to OBA, but again, got home by about 11pm.

Saturday Hedy and I walked up to the big CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL on the waterfront. The weather was bad so we stopped for food and went back to my apartment and rented the movie 8mile. Kimberly came over and the 3 of us went to a party. It was fun, we were home by midnight again.

Sunday Ric had "movie discussion night", we all brought food over and then watched the movie THE MATRIX. What a crazy movie with a lot of underlying religous themes, it was good though. It kind of scared me, that our reality, could not be real...a lot to digest....

OFf to Kentucky and to see mom and dad in Michigan so everyone have a great week and weekend.

April 21st - April 27th

Back to life, back to reality. I have been in a really good mood just living off the memory of laying at the pool at Randys. I know I complain about the rain every week, but it is getting worse, if thats possible, it has not been warmer than 55 and it is just pouring, to the point you cant see through it, all day, all night...everyday I say, well, it will be nice tomorrow and its been POURING for 50 some days in a row..everyone in Ca, you have no idean, you cant even imagine....

Monday I went to work a tired a camper. Came home and the kitties had "retaliated" on my being gone. doh. I grabbed some dinner from Sungari Pearl across the street and went to bed at 8pm.

Tuesday I had a business dinner after work. It was fun, we went up to the City Grille on the 30th floor of the financial building.mmmmm steak and baked potato..

Wed, got home and a certain black kitty is still mad at me for leaving her and "let me know", so I cleaned that up and then went on a cleaning frenzy. That, and I was avoiding going to the gym, so I figured if I was busy cleaning then it was OK not to go to the gym...I mean SWIM over to the gym.

Thursday was a CRAAAAAAAAAZy busy day at the office. Got home, and well, no excuses since the apt. is sparkling so I went over the gym and did some cardio. I really havent gone in 2.5 months because my leg was broken, its HARD to get back into it!!!!

Friday I worked from home, had to try and get my laptop working. Got my nails done at lunch. Friday night my "Portland Friends" got together at a local restaurant (Its like Banderas) and we celebrated my birthday again....or it was just an excuse to get together. About 16 people showed up. From ther we all headed over to a bar called Lush. (Appropriate name). Then a few of us went over to a techno club called LEVEL. From there swung by a RAVE, (Yes, a rave) and then headed home. It was 4am!!!! and my phone was rining off the hook, there was a partyin my building and some Sac friends called. I ended up turning off the phone and going to bed.

Those who STAY OUT LATE, sleep in late. Got up at....well......1pm and headed off to get an oil change. 3hours and $500 later left with new tires. I knew I needed them, but was hoping I didnt. Guess the alignment was all off too. ugh....stopped by the supermarket and grabbed some dinner at Sungari Pearl across the street and settled in for a quiet night of TV.

Sunday slept in, because I could. My friend Tanya came over and we biked ALL OVER THE CITY and went and looked for apartments. It was 60 and sunny (FINALLY!!!) and we had a really really fun time. We biked about 8 miles which is pretty good for city biking. Apartment hunting is going OK. Ive checked out all the complexes now, so need to wait until June for ads in the paper.

April 14th - April 20th

I am back from my crazy fun week!!!! Tuesday I flew to Louisiana for work. We went iut to dinner and it took 4 hours!!!! We ate at an amazing steak house and had huge lobster/shrimp/mussell appetizers and steak....MMMMMMMMMMMM Went riverboat gambling right after that and I wont $35!!!!! Nothing to good for me on my birthday!!

Wed. AM I had a meeting, then I tried to fly back. My plane broke down in Ohio, but the guy I was travelling with threw me 5,000 miles and I got upgraded to business elite. THIS WAS SO AWESOME, especially since we were just sitting there. I had my own TV and the chairs reclined all the way back so you can sleep. Drinks for free....sort of real food, but not really. Finally got home around 9pm.

Thursday it was up and off to Sacramento!!! Darcie came and got me at the airport, and I hung out at her house for the afternoon. Thursday night about 16 of us went to Chevys on the River for dinner and then out to Centro and the BLue Cue.

Friday I hung out at Daniels. He came and got me at lunch and we had Indian Food, then when he got home from work he took me out to Italian and we rented a movie.

Saturday Deanna came and got me and we went over to Randys. Jen,Deanna,Randy and I got ready for the party. I mowed the lawn and sat around the pool in the 82 and sunny weather drinking beer. IT WAS SO GREAT!!! Then we went and got ready and had the party. About 70 people showed up and it was so much fun. Thanks to everyone that came to say HI and party. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!

Sunday we went out to brunch and it was off to come back to COLD,RAINY, MISERABLE Portland, Oregon. I took myself out to sushi dinner on the way back from the airport to make myself feel better. Its 52 and POURING here today. CA was so much fun and Ill see a lot of people in JUly for the houseboat trip. :-)

April 7th - 13th

Ohhhh, you shouldnt have.....ohhhh your so kind, so generous.....Ive been practicing my BIRTHDAY Surprise look for Chevy's on Thursday the 17th!!! and I KNOW everyone is going to be all dressed up in suits and evening dresses. hahaahahah.

Actually turning 36 this year, and to be honest, Ive been pretty bummed out about it. 36 officially makes me OLD. I should be married, I should have a house, I should have kids. I have none of that. Somehow I think I forgot to move forward with my life and now I look like some old idiot going out, trying to be young, but Im not.....boo-hoo....boo-hoo....

Anyway, headed to Sac-Attack and the sunshine on Thursday April 17th - Sunday April 20th. Cant wait to be outside in the fresh WARM AIR and sunshine. ITs a FREAKING HEAT WAVE today at 59!!!!! and 20 mph winds bringing it back down to 40. I so want to move back to CA, but Im trying, I guess to like it here.

Monday after work, as you know I vounteered at the Humane Society. I did my first "dog walking" and I should say 100 pound black lab JASPER walked me. There's a lot of big doggies at the Humane Society. Watched a great movie on Lifetime Mon. night called "FROM HOMELESS TO HARVARD, the Liz Murray story". Catch it if you can.

Tuesday...walked over to the gym and CHANGED my tanning appointment..hahaahahaha, then went to my Active 20s30s club meeting. Got home at 8:45, watched Ruuuuuuuuben Studdard sing on American Idol and went to bed.

Wed, much more of the same. After work it actually stopped raining for awhile, so I went for an hour walk down the waterfront and through the city.

Thursday I drove past a few apartment building. My lease is up July 31st and they are raising my rent to some crazy astronomical rate so I am currently looking to find somewhere else to live. I DONT WANT TO MOVE and the places I have been calling, that take cats, the average size is 550 square feet for the WHOLE APARTMENT!!!! Well, Im in 710 and thats as small as I can go and thats with 4 storage units!!!! My apt. in Sac was 900+. THIS IS HORRIBLE!!!

So I went tanning to destress.

Friday after work I wanted to go and look at some new townhouses that were just built but I had a late meeting with the boss and then had a manicure and pedicure. I went to the salon and then came home and made dinner and went to bed.

Saturday morning I got up at 6:30 am and headed over the CASY EYE INSTITUTE. We volunteered at the annuyal Easter Egg Hunt. Most of it was hel in the parking garage and it was 50 and POURING! It was pretty miserable. I was in charge of the 3 and 4 year old easter egg hunt (inside) and that lasted about 60 seconds!!! It was crazy!!! but fun. We also had games and food and a petting zoo, face painting,etc...

Got home around lunch and headed out on my bike. It was raining on and off now. I started looking at apartments. I found one HIGH RISE that I really like, not too much cheaper than where I am now, and no w/d in the apt, but I could live on the 23rd!!! floor, and its bigger than mine and much much brighter!!! Good for the kitties to get whatever sun is available. My rent is going up anyway. So, that is my plan, to move in there but look in the paper in June/July for another place and see if something incredible comes up.

Got home around 6pm, went tanning and then saw KLimberly in the lobby. She was headed out to dinner with David, so I tagged along. We went to this GREAT asian place (Saucebox) and had dinner. Then we went driving around the Northwest district and went to the Rose Gardens. Got home about 9:30pm and was EXHAUSTED. Went to bed!!!!

Sunday I lazed around in bed, made it to Starbucks and back to bed to watch TV. ahhhhhhhhhhh relaxing..... went back over to one of the apartment building to ask more specifics, then went and volunteered at the Humane Society all afternoon. TIRED.

Came home and packed. Im headed to Louisiana tue and wed and then to California for my birthday Thurs - Sunday. Work has been hell.

March 31st - April 6th

Let the volunteering begin!!! I hope I havent over extended myself all at once. I think things will settle into a good routine soon. It's just kind of crazy right now.

Monday I went over to the Humane Society for my official interview, then to the supermarket. My diet was going really well, but has gone all to hell in a handbasket. Guess Im not going to be miss skinny minny when I visit CA, but Ill "just be me". Well try try try again when I get back!

Tuesday I cant remember what I did. Wed. I made it into the gym to do cardio for the first time since I broke my foot!!! Ummm, yeah....its been awhile!!! But, Im back...so we will see how it goes.

Thursday I had tanning and hit the sack early.

Friday it was up and off to the VET. Ohhhh what a traumatic experience that was! Taz figured out we were leaving and hid under the bed. Tuxxie was no match for "green mouse" and I nabbed her when she attacked Green mouse. Taz on the other hand WAS NOT COMING OUT!!! I basically pulled the bed apart, squirted him, pulled his paw and collar, he got mad at me...then felt bad and went all limp because he hissed at me. (ummm, my fault there for grabbing him). We were off...a half hour later....The Vet went OK. Healthy kitties (though Tuxxie is sneezing since I started volunteering at the H. Society - bad). On the way home, Taz had "an accident" and by the time we got home....well, let's just say it wasnt pretty. I had a poopy carrier and poopy kitty and I was gagging and he was crying....BAD! He hid under the bed for the next 48 hours! MAAAAAAAAAAAAAD at me!!!

If all that wasnt enough excitement I headed over to the Humane Society at 1:30pm. I stuffed flyers till my fingers were raw and then sat with kitties and gave kitty cuddles.

My friend SEAN came over and we went out for Pizza and wine. I was under the impression we are friends and go out casually, I have found out he is thinking along OTHER LINES! Needless to say I cut my Friday nigth short and was home at 8:30pm. He's a nice guy and all...but Im just not attracted to him... AT ALL!!!!

Saturday morning I was up bright and early and back off to the Humane Society. I had "Dog Safety" class, which was pretty interesting. Headed off to a tanning appointment, got ready and off to the airport.

My friend Dennis Tashima from San Diego (Ed K's cousin) came to visit for the weekend. Glad to welcome him with our BEAUTIFUL 45 degree weather and pouring rain!!! We got home and then met my friends Kimberly and David for dinner at Sungari Pearl (an upscale PF changs). Then we headed over to Kel's Irish Pub...walked over to "Banana Joes" where everyone dances on the bar. All I could think about was how everyone is having babies, their 2nd and 3rd!!! and I am turning 36 next week and dancing on the bar (with a lot of other people). Something DEFINITELY WRONG HERE! But it was fun...Around 1:30 am it was over to Panorama to dance some more and watch the late night freaks. We got home around 3:30am and were ALL THOROUGHLY EXHAUSTED!!!!

Sunday, lost an hour to daylight savings time so didnt make it out of the house until about 12:30pm. We walked and walked and walked all over Portland. It was fun, raining on and off, sun breaks on and off. At 4pm We met David,Kimberly and Tanya up at Portland City Grille on the 30th floor of the financial building. They have a KILLER HAPPY HOUR APPETIZER MENU!! Sushi, wontons..fried calamari, bruschetta....yum!!! We pigged out and talked until about 7pm! Then it was home and I was out like a light.

Worked from home in the AM. I dialed in and had meetings all morning anyway. Dennis slept in till 11am, so in the early AM I just kicked him off the sofa and traded my room for the living room so I could work. We went out to lunch and then I dropped him off at the airport and headed into work. I am in "work hell" right now and in the middle of this big spreadsheet. My project (Derivative labels) got cancelled, but now I am working on all the costs associated with not doing them. My coworkers really helped me out last week on the spread sheet, so either they are truly great people, or Im going to get a knife in my back in the next two weeks......we'll see.

Monday after being in spreadsheet hell for a few hours I headed over the Humane Society for my mentoring session. I am now all approved to work in the Doggie Kennels. They have a LOT OF REALLY BIG DOGGIES that like to take you for a walk! They try and get all the dogs out twice a day for a walk and restroom break. At night they all get a blanket and toy to sleep with. The Portland Humane Society has a very good adoption rate compared to most, and take in alot of animals that would otherwise be put down at other shelters. They are mostly a no kill shelter, which is good. Its a little tough on the heart strings, but all these animals need is some love and attention and hopefully to find a good home!!!!!!

March 24th - April 1st

Hi everyone!!!!!

Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday were just normal days. Work, cleaning, errands, etc....It has been raining here for 28 days and driving me nutz!

Thursday it was up and off to the Airport. I arrived in Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati airport around 6pm. Was picked up at the airport and ate dinner at a GREAT South Beach Florida type steak restaurant on the River between Ohio and Kentucky. Good thing dinner was so good because...well....after dinner we headed over to the plant. We worked from 9pm-11pm and then back to the hotel. I fell asleep at 12:30 am (9:30pm PST). Phone call came in at 3:30am and at 4am we were back at the graphics plant. OK, ahhhh back to bed at 5:45 am and up and ready for breakfast at 7:15 am...stayed at the plant until noon and then flew home...

I got home at 8:30pm and was sound asleep by 9pm!!!!

Saturday I watched TV in bed and just layed around. It was a BEAUTIFUL!!! (68 and partly cloudy???)so I walked up to NW 23rd and went to Trader Joes and bought some freshly cut flowers, stopped and had a cup of coffee at Starbucks and sat outside. Then I headed over to Nycole's in Vancouver. She had her parents and their friends over for an afternoon BBQ. It was fun to sit outside!!! Around 6pm I headed home and had a relaxing Saturday night at home.

Sunday it was up early and off to the Humane Society. I had training from 8:30am - 3pm and yes, it was a nice again. I learned about how to take care of the kitties and the puppies. After training, I walked up to Whole Foods and bought a steak and shish kebob for dinners this week.

MONDAY I worked from home in the AM. IN the afternoon I went and had my foot (and knee) checked out. BACK IN TENNIS SHOES!!! No jumping, running or sports for another month, but Im back in TWO shoes!!! Also, the dent in the knee cap will heal. I just banged it a good one! (dumb, dumb, dumb). Tonight afer work I have my official interview with the Humane Society and then will start volunteering 12 hours a month. It will be busy with the 20s30s club activities...but fun. I like to be busy. This weekend Dennis is coming to visit from San Diego. We will be out n about!!!!!!

March 17th - 23rd

Hi everyone!!!!!

The picture of the doggie above for is for all of the volunteering that I am starting to do. Next Sunday is FINALLY my orientation at the Humane Society and I am now involved in 20s30s which is helping childrens charities.

Monday was a long day of meetings at the office. Afterward two suppliers and I headed out to dinner on the 30th floor of the financial building. WHAT A VIEW!!!! Yummy dinner. Since it was St. Pat's day we walked over to KELS IRISH PUB where they had a huge tent set outside and we hung out there for awhile.

Tuesday I worked from home!!! 5 weeks after I broke my foot, my home loan was ready to go. Yes, I do work at HP. No, dont ask....its almost time to give it back but I figure posession is 9/10ths of the law!

Wed. after work it was off to my 20s30s club membership drive meeting. We have two really great fundraisers coming up. A reading day at a local elementary school. We want to send every child home with a book, this is a very poor district. Also, the Easter Egg hunt for the Casey Eye Institute. Should be fun.

Thursday, there was an open house for the $500,000 condos next door, that I CANNOT afford, but I thought it would be fun to go and see them. After that just sat home and watched the TV. Well, all that was on was war stuff....CRAZY hippie protestors in Portland. They were spray painting everything and throwing acid at the police, ran into the highway and shut down traffic and Portland has this weird law that the police cant touch the protestors unless they harm SOMEONE. It was a mess. What a bunch of freaks. Glad their protesting PEACE..Freaks..Portland, full of em!!!!!!!

Friday I had the day off. Headed to the dry cleaner and then to the dentist. 2 fillings and a cleaning...ick...BUT GAS IS FUN!!!!!! Friday night my teeth hurt from the fillings and I just stayed in watched TV. That and the fact is has been raining for something like 24 days straight. It was cold and pouring out on Friday night.

Saturday it was up early and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. Went to the supermarket and ran some general errands. ACTUALLY BAKED SOME MUFFINS if that tells you how bored I was. Watched more TV. Late Saturday night Kimberly, David and I went and saw "View from the Top" with Gwyneth Paltrow and Mike Meyer. Save your money and your time.....

Sunday was another long rainy day. I went and worked out and went tanning. Hung out with the kitties (still raining). Washed my bike and took that down to the "bike room", yes, I was a rebel and in balcony violation for 7 months!!!! Aaron from Sac was in town and we went out to dinner. That's about it. Nothing exciting.

This week I have the joy of flying to HEBRON, KNETUCKY, middle seat...UGH!!!! Thursday, come back Friday night - late. Then, Sunday is finally puppy/kitty training at the Humane Society. Hope you all have a great week!!!!

March 10th-16th

Hi everyone - and welcome to a much more quieter Zan's World this week, which isnt a bad thing. Like the picture of the flower above? yeah....52 and pouring here...whatever......

Monday after work I headed off to do a little supermarket shopping and then home to dust and vacuum, you know, all the good Sunday stuff I missed because I was partay-ing in Vegas.

Tuesday after work I headed up to my first Portland 20s30s club meeting. What a great group of people. I am excited to get out and start doing some fun things...even if its volunteer work. Between this and the human society Ill be quite the little volunteer. But its' good for me.

Wednesday started out OK, but got worse. I went to the doctor for a routine exam and asked for a refill for my Turrett's medication. WELL!! This doctor looked it up and said to me "do you understand the severity of this medication" and I said "OF COURSE" and she said she WONT give me a refill and I need to see her Neurologist because it's a very potent medication and there should be alternatives. While choking back the tears, I tried to explain to her I HAVE TRIED all the alternatives and to please not take my quality of life away....Im now in the process of getting my old records and here we go again.....ALSO to just to add insult to injury, they needed to draw blood. POKED ME 4 times, SWORE, the needle was in the vain and not a drop of blood came out. Not sure what to think about that...maybe still a little dehydrated from VEGAS???? ha-ha-ha......

Thursday, I was hoping for a nice normal day. HUH! political nastiness going on at work...all worked up now. Then went home to find someone parked in MY parking space in the garage...well!!! Kind of defeats me paying $90/month. So I ran upstairs at 5:59pm and JUST CAUGHT the office girl and got another space assigned for the night. GO back downstairs and as the car door was shutting. BAM! MY keys fall into the car, and are locked in the car. Well, I RUN (Gimped fast) up to the office and WHEW!!!!! caught the girl (it was 6:20 now and office closed) and got keys to my apartment. It occurred to me that had I locked my keys in the car I would have been locked out of my apartment until 10am the next day!!!!! SO, this weekend I am getting duplicate keys made. Not sure where Im going to put them, but I have to have duplicates!!!!!

With two BAD AFTERNOONS I decided that I was staying home Friday night. I went and had my blood taken again on Friday....finally they got some. I went up to Powell's Books and bought an Atkins Diet book, got some prescriptions filled and sat around Starbucks and had coffee and read. STAYED IN FRIDAY NIGHT. The week was just to disasterous for me!!!!!

Saturday it was off to tanning and then Kimberly, Tanya and I jumped on the streetcar and went downtown. We grabbed coffee, and watched an anti-war protest with 40,000 of the earthiest, crunchiest, hippie Portland people ever!!!!!

Saturday night a WHOLE GROUP of us went out from my building. We went out in the PEARL district and then a few of us ended up at Panorama dance club. OK, funny story. I was dancing on this platform (yes,...broken leg and all) and next to it was a walkway of the same height. Across from the platform was the bar...again at the same height. Well, my friends were going over to the bar and I said I'd come too. FORGETTING THAT there was about 8 feet between the platform and the bar. I was about waist high up. I walked RIGHT OFF THE PLATFORM...my cast stayed and down I went. SMACKED MY KNEE!!!!!! which hurt so badly!!!! yeah, Im a dummy....didnt even see it coming.....

Sunday I hung out at home, and my friend RIC had a movie discussion night. About 12 people came over, we all brought food and watched a crazy movie called "THE LAST SUPPER" with Cameron Diaz. We had an hour long discussion about the themes and their meanings. It was fun!!!!

Nothing too exciting planned for this week.....

March 3rd-9th

BACK FROM VEGAS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you know Monday it was back to the foot doctor and I regained my driving privelages!!! Woo-Hoo!!! I tired my little blue gimpy shoe, but its really really really hard for me to walk in it, I do much better in the cast, so that's what Ive got on, and Im supposed to wear, but I CAN DRIVE!!!!!!!!

Monday after working at home (best I could, computer access card came in on Tue. night). I went to the gym and worked out upper body and then went tanning. Tuesday it was work and home to relax..Ive been watching American Idol, love that show....

Wed. after work it was off for a manicure and well....half a pedicure. Then home to watch more American Idol....( I lead such an exciting life during the week).

Thursday.....I woke up to find out a TANKER TRUNK tturned over near the aiport and all roads were blocked and the Light Rail was shut down. AHHHHHHHHH. CCancelled tanning and found a cab company that had found a back way into the airport. Got their REALLY EARLY, but that's OK. I met Daniel (from sac) in Vegas at the aiport. THANK YOU DANIEL...he paid for so much this weekend!!! He got us a Limo and off to the LUXOR we went. After getting settled in the room, we headed down to their cafe for some dinner. Then off for Daniel's present. I took him to a REALLY NICE Gentlemans Club for awhile. It was fun, but sort of boring so we left around midnight. We went over to the PPALMS and wanted to go to the GHOST BAR, well the line was 2-3 hours, so I grabbed a $20 (which normally wouldnt get you in) looked as pathetic and cute as I could and asked if there was any way I didnt have to stand in line because of my broken leg (and I had an extra $20). Well, this guy said to go and talk to Jason, and I gave Jason my sad story of Woa, and he let us up, I shook his hand under the clipboard. Up we went. The GHOST BAR is on top of the PALMS and is partly outside, it has an incredible view. Well, about 2 hours later I was walking back from the bathroom and some chick bumped into me. Well, of course, I weebled and wobbled, I was in a cast and a high heel boot. HELLO!!!! and the bouncer grabbed me and told me I was kicked out. I asked him why? and he said your drunk, your wobbling, and I was like, HELLO!!!!!! CAST ON LEG!!!! CHICK BUMPED ME!!!!!! (though I was nice about it) and then he said I had been to the bathroom 3 times in an hour, and I was like "Once to check my makeup and twice to go...Im drinking BEER!!!!! " So he said I could go back in but next time I went to the bathroom we were both kicked out. I WAS SO MAD!!!!! The people we were sitting with including DANIEL had gone to the bathroom more times than I. The people we were sitting with couldnt believe my story. I KNOW the bouncer didnt see my cast at first because I had a black knee high boot on too...and then just felt stupid, but did let me back in.

Friday morning we got up pretty early and went to a few casinos then over to the Venetian and had lunch and then went on the Gondola Ride. Dumb Dumb us left about $50 in quarters on our table. The Gondola Ride was really fun and romantic. Then we headed up the street to Harrah's. They have an outdoor bar, with a disco band, dancers and show, the bartenders throw bottles flipping and spinning and balance things on their head, employees dance on the bar and they throw beads. WE SPENT ALL AFTERNOON THERE!!! They asked for volunteers to go on stage, of course, I did. Cast and all. and it turned out to be a sexy dance contest...(yeah, they could have told me that when I got up there.....) well, I wasnt too sexy but Im sure entertaining at least !!!!! We met a ton of people too!!!!!

Time to go back and get ready. Daniel took me out a wonderful Steak dinner, which he ate both dinners, and I didnt eat because I wasnt hungry. Bummer. Then we headed back to the LUXOR to see the Blue Man Group. It was good, but not worth $100 each to see. By midnight we were exhausted and headed to bed.

Saturday up early and off to Mandalay Bay for Breakfast, went to the Bellagio to see the gardens and fountain show, walked around and then headed back to Harrahs for the rest of the afternoon. We headed back to the LUXOR by way of Coyote Ugly (NY NY) and Krispy Kreme. When we got back to the Luxor we attempted to get ready and go to the Rio buffet and meet people at RAIN (club in the Palms), but decided we were just too tired, gambled in the hotel, got some Champagne and called it a vacation.

Sunday it was back to Rainy Rainy Portland. The weather in Vegas was awesome!!!76 and sunny everyday. I loved it...ALL IN ALL A FABULOUS trip, Im just so mad at that Bouncer at the Ghost Bar!!!!!!

Feb. 24th- MARCH 2nd

WOW!!! Its MARCH already!!! thats so insane!! but the days will get longer and the rain will lessen...woo-hoo!!!!!

Not too much exciting to report for the early week. Still trying to be on the mend. Monday after work I made a good dinner and put on my PJs and relaxed. I stayed home on Tuesday. I have this massive head cold and figured a day of decongestants and sleep would do the body good...and it has!!!!

Wed, back into the office. I STILL HAVENT gotten my home computer loan yet because my secure id hasnt come yet. THIS IS such a pain, Ill be out of my cast before I get my computer. Wed. night I decided to dress up and take a taxi to the museum after hours. Its at the Portland Art Museum, from 5:30-7:30pm, they have a band and beverages for purchase and the museum is open to singles. The average age there was 50!!! I was like a babe in the woods...but it was fun. After ward a few of us went to a trendy restuarant for dinner and out for awhile.

Thursday around lunchtime it was off to the airport. WHAT A PAIN THAT WAS, with the velcro cast, I was "randomly selected for further screening" in EVERY SINGLE AIRPORT!!! Random my A**!!!!!!! I made it down to Shreveport, Louisiana around 8:30pm. I was with another supplier and we headed over to BINYONS HORSESHOE CASINO. I had a meeting the next day with INTERNATIONAL PAPER and this particular group of guys (and one woman) are extremely fun!!! We ate at a restaurant comparitive to RUTHIS CHRIS. At the table next to us was DON RICKLES the comedian, so I got his autograph, and at another table were three men that were about 90!!! and two girls about 21!!! obviously paid for by the gentlman in the middle. When they got up to leave, another table near us, started clapping. It was funny.

We ended up commandeering a 21 table all to ourselves and gambled again until 1:30am. We all backed our meeting up until 10am. We were done at 10:30am. Press checks SHOULD go quick. I tried to get on an earlier flight, but couldnt, so they sent their youngest sales rep. to entertain me for the day. MArtha and I went to Old Navy shopping and then went to see the movie OLD SCHOOL. THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE!!!! I laughed so hard throughout the entire thing!!!! It is soooooooooooo funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caught my flights home, was rescreened again 3 more times and got home around midnight.

Saturday was a really fun day too!!! I got up and went tanning, and then my friend Tanya came and picked me up. We spent the day shopping at the mall and went out to lunch at TODAI SUSHI BUFFET. Got home around 5pm. ARound 8:30pm 6 people came over and we all headed to KELS IRISH PUB. It was a really fun evening.

Sunday I slept in late, but was bored to death! It was pouring outside and I couldnt really go anywhere because I didnt want to get my cast all wet.

I am now in a blue velcro shoe to wear at work and at home. Other than that, I am back in my cast until MArch 31st. WAY TO GO ZAN!!!! NO snowboarding for me this year. I leave for Vegas with Daniel from Sacramento Thursday. Woo-Hoo!!!! I am cast bound, but bought a great black mini skirt to wear with my black boot...to match my cast. Should be a fashion winner!!!!

Feb. 18th - Feb. 23rd

Hi Everyone - Well, I am gimping at a much faster rate now, and dont really need the crutches, though I am frustrated beyond all belief. It is SO HARD and I feel so bad bumming rides to work everyday. Work is trying to get me a home loan, which will really really help, but my access card isnt here yet. Right now I am at everyone's mercy, though am truly thankful for their generosity.

Monday was a holiday, and I spent the day with my foot up on the sofa and watching TV. Nothing too exciting. Tuesday I got back to work and it was a really frustrating day. Not only with my foot hurting, but a lot of things at work piled up and I barely made it out of the building before busting into tears at the end of the day. It was just "one of those days" made worse by pain and a lowered immune system. SPeaking of that, I have managed to acquire a doozy of a cold too. What can I say....its just one of those weeks.

Wed. turned out to be a much brighter day work wise. I got a lot done and caught up on a lot of projects. I didnt get home from work until around 7:30pm or so, and then had a supplier dinner at 8pm. We went to sushi. It was a long day.

Thursday, headed back to work. Came home and relaxed and watched TV. I do a lot of that lately.

I had Friday off and spent the day hanging out. I went and got a manicure. Friday night I went out with friends. We were all over the place, Manzana, PAragon, Boogie Woogies, Dante's and Panorama. Got home about 3am.

Friday at 9am Ihad a massage and it was wonderful!!! I spent the rest of the day lounging on the sofa. Friday night I went out with friends again. We went to Vancouver, WA to two bars. It was OK, nothing too exciting.

Sunday I was up fairly early and cleaned the apartment (best I could), had some lunch and then my friend Tanya from work called. SAVED THE DAY! She had a friend visiting from CA, we went to the ADIDAS outlet store, and a record store and funky furniture store. Then we stopped at a restaurant for lunch. WHOOPS!!! TURNED out to be a GAY COUNTRY BAR. Well, only in ZANS WORLD. We had shopping bags, so we figured everyone would just think we were tourists...The french fries were awesome though. We also stopped at Whole Foods so I was able to pick up some fresh meat and fruit. YAY!!!!

A very sunny day, though windy and cold, I got home about 3pm and headed over the gym. I have been sitting on my butt eating "comfort food" for 1.5 weeks now and it must stop!!!!! So, I worked out some upper body and went tanning. Spent the rest of the evening relaxing with the foot up and watching TV.

This week I am HOPING to get my home loan computer. This is so crazy bumming rides to work everyday. Thursday I am flying to SHREVEPORT LOUISIANA (yes, cast and all) and then I fly home late Friday night. No plans for the weekend, but next Thursday I leave for VEGAS!!! with Daniel from Sacramento. WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) We are staying at the LUXOR..cant wait.

Feb. 10th - Feb. 17th.

Hi Everyone, from Zans Gimpy World. Monday after work I just went home and cleaned around the apartment. Tuesday after work I had that appointment with EVENTS AND ADVENTURES...a great social group, but the expense is enormous. Its $1300/year, and then $30/month + cost of activities. Just not the kind of money I have...

Tuesday night, ahhhh yes, Tuesday night. I went to bed at 10pm like I normally do. I will just tell you the story...but for work I told them I just tripped in the night, but since your all friends, and have all lived in apartments, you can appreciate this. My neighbor was up vaccumming and banging around at 1am. I KNOW my neighbor and he is a pretty good upstairs neighbor. Well, being half asleep, I crawled onto the kitchen counter to do 3 taps to the ceiling, basically just to let him know how crazy loud he was being in the middle of the night. I tripped and fell off the counter. BREAKING MY FOOT. It sounded like popcorn popping. I just laid on the floor and thought "I think I broke my foot", but I didnt want to be a weenie and go to the Emergency room. So I went back to bed. 45 minutes later, still up and in lots of pain I got dressed as best I could and gimped and crawled down the hallway to get a taxi to the Emergency room (could have used phone a friend here).

X-Rays, Temporary cast and a few Vicadin later I was on my way home. It was now 6am. I had TWO REALLY IMPORTANT meetings I had to have that day. So, I had the people meet me at Starbucks below my apt. to meet. I looked like hell. I tried, but had been up all night and was in really bad pain.

Thursday morning I hit an all time low. I was weak from not eating and being on pain meds and I couldnt get reay. It took like two hours, My whole body hurt from the crutches. I ended up just sitting on the floor and crying. FINALLY managed to get a taxi over to the surgeouns to get a walking cast. Its velcro and comes off to shower. I have a smaller cast for night time too which is nice.

Friday night I went to an Anti-Valentines day party and then out to the bars with my friend Rick who was in town. BIG MISTAKE. Woke up Saturday and my foot was like a FOOTBALL. (get it, ha ha ha, foot like football). SO, Saturday I stayed on the sofa ALL DAY AND NIGHT with my foot in the air. BORING!!!!

Sunday night my friend Sean came and got me and we went out for sushi and a few cocktails. Again, shouldnt have so spent MOnday on the sofa. My mom paid for me to hire cleaning people, so that is helping. Expected recovery time 6 weeks. Thats OK, but I cant drive and I live all the way in Portland and work in Washington, so thats kind of a BIG PAIN finding rides. I am going to owe these people big time!!!!! Im sure this week will be really quiet since work is taking everything out of me.

Feb. 3rd - Feb.9th.

If you can believe I have been in Portland for 6 months this week!!! and its time to get organized in my personal life and stop whining that Im not in California. I think I will be a much happier person when I get settled personally. I have been very busy this week acting upon everything I have been finding out about. I have applied for a home loan, and am going to start looking at lofts and townhouses for fun, we'll see what happens, but with the rent Im paying and the incredible way Portland is growing, it will be a good investment..as long as I stay for two more years.

I have mailed in my application to Volunteer at the Humane Society. I have made contact with the Portland 20s30s organization and will probably join, since I love to plan and organize stuff, and it helps childrens charities. I am also looking into a singles group called EVENTS AND ADVENTURES, they have activities basically everynight, but I get the feeling they are going to be very expensive. So, Ill probably stick to the Humane Society and the 20s30s. Volunteering is good.....for the kids and for the animals..(insert "America" music here)

I have broken down and found a doctor and dentist also. Tennis. Will have to wait for summer, its totally outrageous to join one of the indoor clubs around here. But I did scam my mom's raquet while I was in Michigan.

ONTO THE WEEK......

The BOYZ ARE BACK IN TOWN.......look out, it's GUYZ WEEKEND OUT AND Zan's Been invited to participate, since we all know "Zan's one of the guys". Does anyone remember Gaaaaaaarrrrrryyyy ?(houseboaters you know!) AKA....London Boy....he was here this weekend.

The week started out normal and slow. Diet going well, (weekends are KILLING ME!).

Monday: Work, Gym, Tan

Tuesday: Work, supermarket,Gym

Wednesday: Work, Dentist (I have 2!!! cavities), Gym, Tan

Thursday: Work, it was the gym, BUTTTT my friend Aaron from Sacramento, who is in Portland 1-2 weeks a month is in town. It's first Thursday in the PEARL district, a good reason to go out and he wanted to go to a bar called Henry Ford's. We met up at my apartment around 6pm to go to dinner, then swung by PAragon and Vivid. Home pretty early.

Friday started off with chick beauty stuff. A 9am tanning appointment, A 10am manicure appointment and a much overdue cut and color (yay!!!!!!) at 3pm. Then it was home to change and off to the airport to "meet the BOYZ" at the "Portland beer and pizza pub" in the airport, as they were flying in on the hour. (All 8 of them in total) We all rallied and headed to Toms in Vancouver, WA (I was armed with my blow up mattress, sleeping bag and pillow). We sat aorund Toms and ordered pizza and chatted. Then we headed up to a local bar for awhile. It was fun and a fairly mellow evening.

Saturday was just one of those never ending days!!! The guys told me we were going to ACROPOLIS, well I just ASSUMED THIS WAS A GREEK RESTAURANT FOR LUNCH! WORNG! It was a strippy bar, but the food was FANTASTIC and cheap. It was just kind of weird eating and watching naked chiks.... I mostly just talked to the guys and didnt pay attention to the girls. We stopped by another strippy bar and played pool and then went out to dinner. THAI FOOD. YUM. After that it was to the bar and then to the BLUE OYSTER CULT concert. By 11pm I had had enough guyz weekend out and wanted/Needed to go home. So, I did. Guess the guys won out on Saturday because I hit maximum "out" level. After I left, they want to ANOTHER strippy bar and to an after hours party. I was glad to be home. Needless to say, Sunday I didnt do a thing!!!!

This week will be pretty quiet, gym and stuff, tanning and I have some appointments (events and adventures, fillings, ick).

My friend Rick will be here this weekend, from Sac.

January 30th - Feb. 2nd.

Hi Everyone!!!! Friday afternoon I headed in the driving rain to Eugene, OR, about three hours south of Portland. Oregon is finally flooding from all of the rain, I WONDERED WHERE ALL THE WATER GOES!!!! It has been crazy raining for days!!!!

My friend Dawn Bodell from high school lives in Eugene. She is a year younger than me, and we didnt hang out in high school but knew each other, and she was in CA for awhile, but we missed each other. Dawn is a Urologist. Dawn lives in Downtown Eugene (if you can call it a "downtown") and we went downstairs for a glass of wine and to catch up. Afterward, we headed out for a sushi dinner and then to a bar with a Swing Band up the street. We were home by 11pm though as we were both tired.

Saturday we were up early and went and worked out at the gym. Got cleaned up and went to a food court for lunch then off to the stables. Dawn has two horses. Now, those of you that know me, know I AM SCARED OF HORSES. Its been a long time, so I thought Id give it a go. I groomed my horse and walked around the arena. Mind you, "Ashley" the horse is a Percheron, which is the size of a Clydesdale. Thats a quick way to get over your fear of horses. After awhile, Ashley just stopped. I think she got tired of me being on her back, having NO CLUE as to what Im doing. Dawn had to walk out into the arena and come and get us. :-)

After that we went home and got cleaned up (again) and then went out to THAI FOOD, then off to see "Catch me if you can". We were both really tired so headed home after the movie.

Sunday it FINALLY cleared up a little outside, so I headed back to Portland. Dan and his sister are moving into a house, so I went over to see the place. They were in the middle of totally cleaning and painting it.

January 13th - 30thth.

AhHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I AM SO FRUSTRATED!!! Not only did I just lose Zans WOrld for this week, I am here at the office on a Saturday afternoon and I cant submit my purchase orders or connect to my drives..AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHY bother coming into the office on a SATURDAY!!!!!

OK, let me start again!!!!!! Monday I flew to Memphis. I had dinner with the guys that flew in for my meetings. PF Changs. Yum. Headed back to the hotel for a cozy nights sleep. Right? Wrong!! at Midnight off goes the fire alarm. Well, I grab my purse and go down to the lobby. Fuzzy socks, boxers, t-shirt, nice pony tail on top of my head. Yeah, cutie pie. TOTALLY FORGETTING THAT ALL THE MEN that are in for my meetings Im holding are also staying at the hotel. AND they all remembered to wear tennies, sweats and coats. Nice. PRETTY EMBARRASING.

My meetings in Memphis went well. I got to go to BBQ at the Rendevous, and to BB Kings bar. Also made it out to RUTHS CHRIS steak house one night. MMMMMMM.

I stayed in Memphis over the weekend with my friend Tom from College. (Special cool note here. Tom is the senior packaging Engineer for Fed Ex. He did all the packaging for the movie Castaway. Did you know the only reason the boxes floated were because they filled them with Polystyrene. Uhhh. NO ICE SKATES ON THE ISLAND...totally impossible!!!!)We went out to several bars on Friday night. Saturday it was out to lunch and then off to GRACELAND. That was pretty cool. I bought the cheesy pix from there for a mere $20!!!

Saturday night we met up with a bunch of his friends and another guy I know from College. We went out to a bazillion more bars, including one that used to be an old brothel. That was neat, with a lot of small rooms and a guy playing the piano, everyone singing...

Sunday it was off to Cincinnati for a press check.

Monday I was able to skip into Detroit. Stacked YET ANOTHER CORD of wood for mom and dad. Did some work on their computer and headed out for pizza. It was fun.

Wed. it was off to WISCONSIN. (Did I mention it was 22 BELOW ZERO HERE????) I stayed at the most beautiful Lodge in Lake GENEVA. The room was so awesome, dark green carpeting, light wood accents, giant 4 poster bed!! so nice. AND GUESS WHAT!!!!! MY OLD COLLEGE ROOMMATE AMY (gorksi) HUMPHREY lives in Lake Geneva Nowhere Wisconsin!!! she joined my suppliers and I for dinner at the Geneva Inn. (Dinner was incrdible), then we stepped out for Darts and pool.. We called Renee (Schnell) Krupp and woke her up. She has two little girls now, MAdison and Macy, and AMy has Adam and Eric. On Thursday afternoon, I went over to Amys house and hung out after work, then it was back to the Airport. Dinner at Applebees - alone.

Friday I FINALLY GOT TO COME HOME!!!! Exhausted I picked up my poor kitties, unpacked, and was sound asleep by 9pm!!!! Today is Saturday and I got a manicure and have been at the office all day.

OK, Now its Thursday, so Ill just fill you all in.

Saturday night I got a manicure and ran some errands. Michael and I went to awesome Italian dinner in a nearby area and then off for a glass of wine.

Sunday I slept in and then went to the supermarket and headed over to my friend Ric's for Superbowl. It was "Ric and the girls", but I met some really nice people and had a great time. We ate and watched the game.

Monday up at 4am (again) and off to the Airport. I headed down to Shreveport Louisiana. Was taken out to an AWESOME steak dinner by one of my suppliers and then we went Riverboat gambling. I actually had a lot of fun for being on business. AFter two hours at the black jack table I was up $10!!!!. Tuesday back at work 7am for a press check and then I toured a paper mill. THIS WAS AWESOME!!! We started where the trucks of trees or wood chips come to the plant. They have this thing that tips the whole 18 wheeler backward to dump them out. WAY COOL. Then we toured the rest of the plant. Tuesday night out to dinner, but to bed early. Wed. back up at 4am!!!! and flew back to Portland.

IT is raining like gangbusters here and the 10 day forecast says its not going to let up. I WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO VEGAS tomorrow, but that got cancelled, so I am going to Eugene, Oregon to see my friend Dawn from high school and see her ranch etc...it will be good to relax.

January 6th-12th

Hi There!!!! A Very normal and ordinary week/weekend, which is good because things are going to get crazy soon. As you know, Im headed to Memphis and Ohio for work, and those crazy travel people at HP have me flying from OHIO to TEXAS to PORTLAND. GO figure...well, more miles for me!!!!

Monday - Work, gym, diet (Day 3 - but the weekend is the killer)

Tuesday - Work, gym, TAN, diet.....

Wednesday - Work, gym, diet......

Thursday - You guessed it! Work, gym, TAN, diet....

Friday - I had the day off. Slept in.ahhhhhh and got up and went to the gym. Ran a few errands and repotted a plant..my domestic activity for the day. Around 3pm I got a pretty bad headache, so rested. I met a guy from Match.com for a drink...yeah, it was a match date, killed an hour, and then stopped by Paragon, but my head hurt so I went home. Saturday I woke up with the WORST MIGRAINE!!! I was so BUMMED because I had plans to go out with Portland friends...one of my first actual portland social engagements, and my head was throbbing. SO I spent the day and evening on the sofa. (Watched Pretty WOman (2) OVerboard (2) and Footloose)

Woke up Sunday, head still pounding, but managed to pack and clean and get ready for my trip.

At this time I know Im going to Memphis and Ohio, but they still have not confirmed WI And LA..but I KNOW THE press checks still have to be done by the 24th, so I imagine Ill go.

Today is Monday, and my head still hurts..still have a headache, and I hope it goes away because I am flying and starting with supplier meetings tomorrow. UGH...

Take Care and Ill talk to you all in a few weeks....

December 21st - January 5th

Hi everyone and welcome to 2003!!!! Can you believe it? Remember when we were going to party like it was 1999? Im not going to go through day by day, but just give you some highlights. I headed home to Michigan on Saturday the 21st. It was so great to be home for two whole weeks! My parents had a party on the 28th and we spent quite a lot of time getting prepared for that. The party was a huge success with the "old folks" partying until 2am!!! I was duly impressed.

I stacked 5.5 cords of wood for the folks,..good for the quads....(who needs the gym?)

"The girls" did our annual Dec. 26th party for Kellys Birthday. We got a room at the Athenium in downtown Detroit, and went to dinner, headed to the RED WINGS game, partied it up at the POST BAR and then headed for Chili Cheese Fries at 2am at Lafayette Coney Island in what can be described as a "scenic part of Detorit"...ummmm yeah, we probably shouldnt have been there,, but its tradition.

I went and visited JEss and Troy and their two daughters. They took me out to dinner and we had floor seats for the PISTONS vs. PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS basketball game. That was tremendous fun and finsished the evening eating pizza and gabbing. FUN!

New years eve was spent at Rod and Julies. They had 2 more couples over and myself. (and 3 less than 9 month old babies). The Sutherlunds cooked a great table meal and we partied in the basement with baby monitors and baby TVs. It was fun...and ohhhhhh, the joy of playing "speed quarters" again.... :-)

We received 6' of snow on Xmas eve and woke up to a white Xmas!!!!! Santa was good, bringing me a massage and facial, robe, slippers, turtlenecks, sweater and a new winter coat (much needed coat).

I ate and ate and ate and ate...so am now dieting, dieting, dieting....hopefully untill my birthday on april 17th.

The rest of the two weeks was spent relaxing with mom and dad and hanging out around the house. It was great to be home. Now I am back. Time to look into those tennis lessons and some volunteer work.

Happy 2003! to you all.....

December 9th-13th

I HAD NO IDEA!!!! The RAINS have come. They started Monday morning.(2 months late) Not only is it pouring out, constantly, its like Alaska here. You need a flashlight to see outside at noon!!! I mean its on the verge of being totally pitch black. Its just wrong. I mean REALLY WRONG. Pray for me, pray that I find the strength to not get really fat (think ive already gained 5 pounds). Pray for me, that I have the strength to swim to work, to leave the sofa and not catch a pnuemonia....HALLELUJAH!!!! Pray for me. Pray that I may remember deep in my mind that the yellow shiny thing in the sky is the sun, and it will come out again......in JULY!!!! according to everyone here. Pray that I remember how to wear my hair down and what sandals are. Pray that I still have a body under the 3 sweaters and 2 jackets I wear to work everyday because Im FREEZING to death...PRAY FOR ME FRIENDs....PRAY FOR ME!!!!!!

Not a whole lot went on this week. Monday I just went home and cleaned some more. Tuesday I had my fake nails put back on (YAY!!!) and went tanning and did my hair. Wed...well, nothing.

Thursday. Had a date. With a guy Darcie and met. I told him I want to be friends, so its not really a date. hes about 6-5,Italian and from New York. Hes too funny, he calls me with this thick Italian accent "Yo,Yo, my little rose petal...Yo", its pretty darn funny. Michael (he goes by Miguel...more urban I assume). came over around 6pm. We headed out to a Xmas party, stopped for a cocktail and then had a really nice dinner at this cute little Italian place.

On Friday morning my friend Jeff flew in from sacramento, and our friend Aaron was here too. We went to a bunch of bars, Boogie Woogies, Rock Bottom Brewery and eventually off Dancing at Panorama. It was fun.

Saturday afternoon we met Dan and Matt at Bridgeport brewery for pizza, off to Hubers for Spanish Coffee, dinner at Sinju Sushi, cocktails at Marys (OK, it was Jeffs Birthday and Marys is a stip club.). and then off to the Candlelight room. THANK GOODNESS IT IS XMAS and I can go and hide away at my parents house for two weeks. I think these past two weekends I have done some serious damage to my liver.

Sunday I dropped Jeff off at the aiport and then headed to CHUCK E CHEESE's for my friends, sons 1st birthday. A WORD TO THE WISE....Chuck E. Cheese IS NOT SOMEWHERE YOU WANT TO BE AFTER drinking with friends all weekend. They had those kids SCREAMMMMMMMMING at the top of their lungs. I made it two hours and had to go home.

This week it will just be work and packing, and laying low as I am leaving at 6:30am on Saturday for Detroit for two weeks.

December 2nd - December 8th

Hi All-

Monday after work I was totally beat still from the weekend, so just hung out at home and relaxed.

Tuesday I was all dressed and ready to go to the gym and tanning when Dan called and said he was 10 minutes from my apt. and wanted to know if I wanted to go to sushi. OF COURSE!!! In 10 minutes flat I changed, curled hair and did makeup!!! He had his German Shepard with him in the van, so I said we should just put CARMEN in my apartment. well, little tuxxie took one look at Carmen and ran under the bed and Taz let out a hiss and ran under the bed. We left. Headed to Sinju Sushi and then did a little "tour de Pearl" for some cocktails and to see the new bars. We got home about 10:30pm and Tazzie Taz was sleeping on the bed right above Carmen. Tuxxie was still under the bed.

Wed. I made it to the supermarket for a big food run and went tanning but didnt make it to the gym. ITs been a week now since Ive gone and pants are a little snug. NOt Good!!!!!

Thursday Dan came over for dinner. It was "first Thursday" which is the first Thursday of every month and everyone goes out and the art galleries and stores stay open late. Their was an art exhibit across the street, featuring local artists, so we went to that and then came back and made a huge dinner.

Friday afternoon DARCIE flew into town. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!! I picked her up at the airport and we came home and made dinner and chatted and caught up on stuff. Then we went out to Kells Irish Pub and to another really fun bar called "Banana Joes". Home about 1am.

Saturday after sleeping in and making a large breakfast we drove out to Multnomah falls. Walked up to the big bridge and did the "oohhh ahhhhh" thing. Drove back to Portland and I drove Darcie around the city and then we went to Saturday market. A lot of street vendors. We met Dan and Matt for pizza and beer at Bridgeport, then home for a nap. We went out to dinner at a new restaurant called Manzana, and then went to Vivid and Paragon. Over to Banana Joes, danced on the bar (everyone does) and then hit Panorama. I think we got home around 3am.

Sunday Dan and his son Will (3) came over and the 4 of us headed over to the Ansil Adams exhibit and to the forestry center and walked around. Then I took Darcie to the airport, cleaned and wrote Xmas cards..

This weekend my friends Jeff and Nancy are coming up from Sac and Ill have to do it all over again. Better get some sleep this weekend!!!!!

Nov.25th - December 1st

CRAZY!!! It's December already. To start Zans World...Give me your tired, your sore, your sandy and aching bodies.....

Monday and Tuesday it was off to tanning and the gym. Wed. I went up to a new restaurant/bar by my apt. and had a glass of wine to check it out. Manzana...it's OK. Kind of looks like a well lit Bandera's.

Wed. morning it was up really early and I embarked on a 3.5 hour drive out to the Coast. I met the Nagel brothers and clan out at a cabin. We actually had 15 people in our group and then another group was up the street with about another 12 people. Wed. we went out in the sand rail and cruised all over the dunes. We hit the beach and ocean...which was breathtaking and drove 89mph in the rail. For those of you who dont know a sand rail is basically 4 tires, 2 seats, metal floor, Big engine and a roll cage. Small front tires and BIG FAT SAND tires in the back. It was so much fun and the weather was beautiful on Thursday and Friday.

After railing we had a big Thanksgiving dinner, we ate through 3 fried Turkeys..and sat around and played cards and watched TV.

Friday we motored over to the other cabin where I met Dan. Myt friends and his friends had conspired to get us together long before either one of us had gotten up to the cabins. HEs cute, 29 (divorced, 3 year old son) and DOES live in Portland. It worked out well because I got to ride in his rail for most of the weekend and HES CRAZY out there. All of these guys are. Most of them have built their rails from the groun up and can fix whatever breaks down..and a lot of stuff breaks the way these guys drive. We went out at night...SCARY AND FUN!!!! and Dan and I went over this one dune. LAUNCHED THE SAND RAIL...flew up in the air at a 90 degreee angle, flew back about 2 feet, bounced the back tires on the ground and rolled backwards down the hill...OK this got a scream out of me. Found out later everyone was pretty sure we were going to flip over backwards.

My friend Bonnie's parents were at the cabin and her dad went to U of M, so we had some fun banter going back and forth. We had 9!!! sand rails, a sand bug and 2 quads, so about 24 people could go out at once and we just played follow the leader (sort of) all over the place. It is still just amazing I havent been in a buggy that has crashed into another one yet.

Night riding was interesting because it was FREEZING. I wore so many clothes including ski goggles, bandana over my face and then a big brown mechanic jumpsuit..whos the sexy babe now????????

IT was a really fun weekend. Sunday I left around 11am so I could get back and clean and do laundry. ALL OF MY clothes just reak of rocket fuel and gasoline and theres just sand EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!@

This weekend DARCIE is coming into town, so I will have lots to write about next week too. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Nov.18th-24th

OK, OK, couldnt find any Thanksgiving Pix here in the ole image gallery, so I just went straight for XMAS.

Monday it was off to work and I was pretty tired from landing late Sunday night from Detroit. The flight back was fine, direct at least. Monday afternoon I went and got Tuxxie and Tazzie from the kennel. They werent too happy with the new kennel, but they survived. We had lots of cuddles and quiet time MOnday night and I actually fell asleep around 8:30pm because I was still on EST.

Tuesday back to work , walked a mile at lunch, and then off to tanning and to work out at the gym.

Wed. you guessed it!! Work and the gym!!!! :-)

OK HERE IS A GOOD STORY.....A TOTAL ZANS WORLD STORY....Hope you enjoy the chuckle....OH FUNNY STORY.......REALLY FUNNY STORY!!!

Last night I took my car through the carwash for the FIRST TIME EVER...it is not really recommended for convertibles to go through car washes because of the top. In the car wash there was a leak and it was squirting me in the face. I was right at the point where the big soapy things wash the car just before "rinse". Well, I figured I would just hit "close" on the convertible top and it would tighten the seal. WRONG! Well, my car assumed the top was down and PUT ALL OF THE WINDOWS DOWN!!!! And you cant stop them!!! This was right when the soapy big red clothes were going by. Im trying to DUCK in the car and the soap is flying in, all well trying to get to the buttons to get the windows up!!! Then we hit the rinser, windows still arent up.......water comes jetting through the car!!!!! Finally get the windows up and I just had to sit there and ask myself, with water and soap dripping down my face "Tell me that just didnt happen!!!!!". (Its funny now though).

Thursday my friend Aaron is in Portland for work, he is here about every two weeks. We met at 6:30pm for Spanish Coffee at "HUBERS", then we walked over to the RED - something or other restaurant. Reminded me a lot food wise of Bandera's, but it white table cloths and was fancier. After dinner, I got really tired and still had to work in the morning so I jumped a cab home, watched Will and Grace and fell asleep.

Friday back to work. Walked a mile at lunch and then went over to my friend Nycole's house. The POOR THING has been really, really, really sick for a few months now and has an 11 month old and 10 year old at home. Her house is clean, but had the "lived in" look. So, I helped her to clean the whole house, fold about 9 loads of laundry, we went grocery shopping and did all the dishes. Whew. Then her 10 year old had a "soc hop". I painted her toes and nails and put her hair up, and Nyc and I dropped her off at the dance. It was strange, most of the parents there were my age or younger! I need to settle down!!!

But on that note, I went home and got a hold of Aprille. We went to Paragon, and then to Vivid and the Blue Hour, took a cab to Stefano's (I SHOULD have gone home here...) and then cabbed it to CLub 15. Well, I was standing in the middle of the club and realized. "I HAVE TO GO HOME NOW", so I grabbed a cab and headed safely home to bed. After tripping at the front door and landing right on my butt in front of the club. TAXI PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday was about useless. I had coffee with Aprille at Starbucks, did my hair and cleaned the bathroom and watched about 9 movies. I decided to stay in on Saturday night and think about my decisions from the previous evening.!!!

Sunday, of course, I was out of bed like lightning and off. Cleaned the apt, did laundry, dishes, off to the bank, supermarket, Target...tanning, two mile walk to Trader Joes..Then Aprille needed to go to Target, so I took her up there. Bought a neat little "shower radio", pillow, you know stuff I needed, but didnt HAVE to have. Watched more TV, but fell asleep during the Sopranos. DARN.

Thursday I am headed to BEND, OREGON to go sand railing and Quad riding with the NAgel brothers and the SAND MOUNTAIN crew. Hopefully I wont come back BANGED AND INJURED. But based on past experiences with these guys, Im bringing my medical card "just in case".

Nov. 4th-Nov. 18th

Hi Everyone, Two weeks of Zans World here. I am trying really really really hard to make friends and enjoy Portland. But I am pretty depressed, tired of the effort that leads nowhere and am just giving up for awhile, it wont kill me to stay in on weekends (and THANKS!!! to those of you coming/planning to visit...my friends)In the meantime, I have decided to channel my energies towards fixing my body (since i have no one to go out with anyway and am finally tired of complaining about it '-), volunteer work and I still need to find a hobby.

So, I apologize to those of you who have talked to me and I am just depressed and whiny. No one wants to be around someone like that and I am working very hard and digging myself out of it.

The first week of my new regimen went better than expected! Sunday - Thursday and Saturday), Dieted, worked out EVERY DAY...yes, folks...EVERYDAY. Friday night I went out with ric from Texas. we went to City grille, there I ran into "nascar guy" and I went out wiht them for a little while. It was OK. I made it home by midnight.

The trip is a busy busy one. Good to get out of Portland though. Sunday I ousted myself out of bed at 4am (ugh), to jump in a taxi at 5am and headed for the Airport. Off to Memphis Tennessee. This was great, actually, because my friend Doug Wood from college lives in Memphis and I havent seen him since we went to MArdi Gras 5 years ago!!!! Sunday night Kevin, Randy (from work) and Doug and I headed out to dinner at PF CHangs YUM!!!!. (here goes the diet this week).

Monday it was off to the HP Warehouse for a day of tours, process flow information and the BIG DERIVATIVE LABEL project I am working on which is leaving a bruise on my forehead from trying to figure it out!!!! They guys at the warehouse took us to Mississippi for lunch at some catfish place. We were toally in the middle OF NOWHERE!! This place had hushpupplies and deep fried EVERYTHING, green beans in lard, fried catfish, fried okra, fried dough, fried potato. I just got a chicken sandwich...no bread. ick......it was almost too gross. THEY FRY EVERYTHING in the south. ick. Monday night Kevin, Randy and I hit dinner at a steak place and called it an early night. We were staying at the Courtyard, so they had great buffet breakfast everyday.

Tuesday it was off to International Paper in Jonesboro Arkansas. Good tours, good day. Tue. night Smurfitt - Stone took us out to this awesome steak place for dinner.

Wed. it was off to Tupelo Miss. The "secret of the south" or so they say....ha-ha-ha whatever. But I was out with these southern sales guys all making jokes about Arkansas, it was pretty funny. Wed. Randy and took off to the airport and checked into the gross Radisoon there. We called this ELVIS restraurant and they came and picked us up in THE SCARIEST pink limo, smoke filled, grey velour seats, half falling apart. I felt like the pimp mack dadddddddy. We had BBQ and more BBQ, deepr fried dinner rolls,....yes, folks, they fry everything. Got A ride back from a guy we had met at our hotel, stopped at GRACELAND and peeked over the wall and headed back.

Up at 4am, flew through Detroit, from Memphis to get to Richmond virginia. WHATEVER!!!! Got to Richmond and headed out to the supplies depot. Toured, etc....had dinner with the boss. Earl night..nothing to do at the Fairfield Inn. Watched Survivor and Will and Grace.

Friday off to the Richmond office, a lot of meet and greets, some email and then off to tour more warehouses and operations. A 4pm Flight and home to Detroit to see the folks...ahhhhh RELAXATION and SLEEP!!!!!!!!

Arrived home around 6pm....had dinner with the folks, watched some TV and headed off to bed.

Saturday my friend JEssica came over with her two adorable daughters, Alexis (almost 3) and Christina (6 mo.). we had lunch and a surprise birthday party for Jessica. My mom had a cold so My dad and I went to the yacht club for dinner.

Sunday lazed around the house with the folks and took a 7pm flight back to Portland. Here at work now and just waiting till 2pm to go and spring Tuxxie and Tazzie from the kennel. I miss them so much!!!!!

October October 29th - November 3rd

Hi to all of you. The weather has gotten COLD and now I never want to leave the apt. I watched SO MUCH TV this weekend. I am going to try and find a club to join and maybe volunteer at the SPCA over the winter. I need to do something or Ill rot away. Im lonely too, but trying to keep busy.

MOnday it was to the gym and tanning, Tuesday much of the same.

Wed. I went to a radio station Halloween party with Pucca shell man. It was fun, but we had to stand in line for an hour and a half to get in, and I was totally frozen!!! I dresssed as a 1920s flapper.

I took vacation Thursday morning and enjoyed sleeping in. Then I headed into work. WE had trick or treating at the office and a TON of little ones came through. It was really fun to see them and I raced to the store to buy some candy for them.

Thursday night my friend Aaron was still in town on business, hes from Sac. We went out for Italian dinner and then to Kells Irish Pub. I got to get on stage and lead the "UNICORN SONG" dance moves, so that was fun!!!!

Friday I did NOTHING!!! I mean nothing but watched TV and felt sorry for myself. I did clean some.

Saturday morning I went and watched MSU get KILLED by UM. I actually left at halftime and went shopping. Cleaned some more at home, supermarket, etc.... Around 10pm I took a cab up to this bar to meet some people. OK, I SO DID NOT BELONG. It was a total grunge bar with everyone in black and half wearing white makeup and black lipstick. I thought it WAS STILL HALLOWEEN in there!! What a bunch of freaks and it WAS SO TOTALLY LOUD!!!!!!!!!! I WAS SO DEAF. At 1:30am I decided I wanted to go dancing, so I jumped in a car by myself and went to Panorama. I figured this was safe since its 80% GAY MEN on Saturday night at 2am. I danced until 4am and headed home - exhausted.

NEedless to say I slept in REALLY LATE, and then showered and moseyed to the sofa. Again with no one to see or nowhere to go, AND IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE, I ended up watching 3!!! LIFETIME MOVIE NETWORK movies. It was "deadly relative weekend" ACTUALLY they were really good. FINALLY at 5pm, being such a bum for two days caught the best of me, so I headed over to the gym and worked out and went tanning.

This week its work and the gym everyday. I leave for a business trip on Sunday (at 3am) for over a week, and it may be extended. I am going to TENN, MISS, ARK, VA, MI and possible KY for three more days. I could be gone for two weeks. so.....if you dont hear from me, thats why.

October 21st - 27th

Hi Folks - Hope you all remembered DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME and also, have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Monday, feeling 100% better, but not 100% yet, I went home from work and tossed on some sweats. Aprille made tacos so I moseyed on down to her apt. for dinner and a little TV.

Tuesday it was work, gym and tan. Feeling so much better now!!! :-0

Wed. after work I went and met this guy Albert for dinner at Applebees and a movie. We went to see THE RING, total old school jump out of your seat movie, it was a lot better than I originally expected. I had met Albert on match, though we never actually met. Nice guy, but thats it. And for SAM you ask, well, weve been playing phone tag, email tag, text message tag, hopefully we can sync up this weekend. Also, my friend Rick is coming into town this weekend again, so that will be fun.

Thursday after work I headed over to my friend Nycole's. She lives right by HP. I washed the car and then headed home for some chores around the apt. and headed to the gym.

FRDIAY - - - ahhhhhhhh the weekend. mY Friend Rick was in town again this weekend and so is a guy named Aaron from Sac. We went to Boogie Woogies, Sam met us up there too. Then we headed over to the Candlelight room and dancing at Panorama. It was a pretty late night, 3? 330?

Saturday I slept the morning away then went up to get my haircut. VERY EXPENSIVE salon, did a bad job. She chopped it!!!! and its a BASIC cut and she did a horrible job drying it. Not going there again.

Watched some TV in the afternoon and then Rick and Aaron came over. All three of us were definitely NOT the rock stars we were Friday night. We went to SINJU SUSHI and watched the World Series and had a rather long dinner. Went to Jimmy MAks and to PAragon, but all three of us were tired and didnt really feel like being out.

Friday I had gotten a headache again and I had it all weekend...again. SO Sunday, the weather was awful, and I just watched TV and did some stuff around the apt. Relaxed with the kitties, who also just slept all day. Kind of fun though, to do nothing....the kitties like having me hang out around the apt. all day.

October 14th-20th

Hi Everyone. Not a good week for me at all. Monday after work I didnt feel well, so I hit the supermarket and went home to bed at 6pm.

Tuesday felt HORRIBLE and went home at 10am and watched TV and slept. I would like to add that the weater this week was 80 and sunny, not a cloud in the sky, the best it has been since I moved here. But, alas, I didnt see any of it, really.

Wed. I got up around 11AM and headed to the doctor. Diagnosis: Stomach Virus and the flu. Drove home with the top off the car, my little bit of sunshine and went home and watched TV and slept.

Thursday I watched TV and slept. Now day 4 with a headache and basincally dying. I had planned WINE AT ZANS and had no way to cancel it. So I valiently showered and lit the candles and cooked the appetizers and ONLY TWO PEOPLE SHOWED UP. Tanya from work from 7-9 and Sam (new guy) from 9-930. That was it. I was so sad. Number one because I had invited almost my whole floor and number two because I felt awful and could have cancelled and slept!!!!!!!

Friday I had to get out of the house....could not watch anymore TV, but still felt awful. I got an oil change, checked out the Vet and Kennela and went to BLockbuster. Fridays Viewing: SCOOBY DOO (fun movie!!), I AM SAM (good).

Saturday I walked to Nordstroms to pick up my new pants and walked home. Needed some fresh air. I slept and watched TV. Saturdays viewing: The NEW GUY (typical high school flick, funny), VANILLA SKY (very very very strange movie).

Sunday I made it to OLD NAVY And bought some jeans. Slept and watched TV. (imagine that). Sunday evening I walked up to the store for some dinner.

Today I am back at work. Feeling about 75%. Have my trusty Tylenol with Codeine on hand. It will be a quiet week. I would like to get back into the gym and tanning this week. We will see. I was very sad and lonely this week, Im sure heightened by the fact I was so sick and totally having my own little pity party for myself. But Im on the mend and so is my attitude. Miss you all!!!!!

October 7th - 13th

Hi Everyone! A normal week by normal standards...Monday it was off to work, and the gym and tanning. Headed across the street to Craigs loft with Aprille, had a glass of wine and came home...CAME HOME TO WHAT YOU ASK? MY stackable washer and dryer, you know the one, the one I keep my 2.5 gallon of concentrated TIDE...the one that leaked in front and back and oozed 2.5 gallons down the sides and front of my w/d. The one that oozed into my drying clothes and my already finished wet ones. The one that oozed 2.5 gallons all over the floor, so thick I could scoop it up into my hands....and is now stuck under and behind the w/d..one of those days...

Monday nights bad run of events turned right into Tuesdays, more oozing laundry detergent....my JUST tailored pants look like the floods of 96 are coming, I spilled coffee all down my shirt at the office, I had to run into a store and was charged $5 for parking and they didnt even move my car, shut the door or turn it off (5 minutes I was gone)...you know...that kind of day, the kind of day where you just give up all hope and go to bed at 7pm and wait until tomorrow.

Wed. things brightened up. I had an uneventful day of work, the gym and tanning.

Thursday proved to be identical, except I have been voted off of Survivor. No office pool winnings for me!!!! As Ghandia says...."peace out", oh yeah, pucca shell man says that too. (hahahaha)

Friday rolled around and I really had nothing planned for the evening. Aprille and I decided to meet at City Grille, with some other folks, then headed over to Jakes Grille. I met a guy named Sam on match and he came and met me up there too. After that we just went to a couple of bars and dancing.

Saturday I slept in and got sucked into watching Mutiny on the BOunty with a very young Mel Gibson. Got ready, ran to a manicure (thanks mom!) and then headed up to NW 23rd. I met rick and Deanna for dinner at Tuscany Grille...ohhhhhh was it yummy! then we went over to watch hockey. The WINTERHAWKS. Did you know these kids are only 16-20!!! just babies. After the game my friends dropped me off and I walked up to Paragon, but I was tired and we had beveraged at the game, so I just went home to bed about 11pm.

Sunday it was up and off to take back a pair of pants and go shopping. I ended the day with two new pairs of pants and 8!!! sweaters. Its cold here!!!!

Sam called and he came and picked me up and we went to Jakes Crawfish for some FRENCH ONION SOUP, the best I have ever had. We hit Starbucks and then went and saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Funny movie!

Sept. 30th-October6th

Monday it rained

Tuesday it rained

Wed. it rained

Thursday it rained and I started to collect wood.

Friday it rained

Saturday it rained and Ive started building the ARK because even in the bible it only rained for 40 days and 40 nights!!!!!

Sunday it was ick, then nice in the afternoon. Construction is going well. :-)

Seriously though, had a great wet week. Monday, the gym and Tuesday I went to Keller Auditorium with my friend Ric and saw BLAST. A Broadway show, a glorified drum and bugle show. It was pretty good.

Wed. I met mom and dad at the airport. Got them settled at the hotel and then off to my apt. We strolled around a tad, and then had the MOST AMAZING dinner at JAKES SEAFOOD. ohhhhhh, the French Onion soup was to die for!!!

Thursday they came over and we walked around some more. Did some pretty good damage at Nordstroms makeup counter with mom. That evening we went to the 30th floor and had cocktails with my friend Aprille, then we had dinner@ City Grille. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. After that, I met up with Aprille and crew at the BLue Hour.

Friday more sightseeing around town. Lunch at Paragon and dinner at Kels Irish Pub. Early night, parents too tired.

Saturday we opened the Museum of Science, hit the Omnimanx, Planetarium and Sub tour. Dad had a lot of fun here. Good day. Saturday night it was dinner at the cute little Italian Cafe next to my apt. PIAZZA ITALIA...it was again yummy ( I am VERY DIETING now that they are gone - we had so many incredible meals, but did our share of walking and sightseeing!!!!!)

Sunday was a quieter day. We had a lovely champagne brunch cruise on the Portland Spirit and went up and down the Willamette. Fun. The Marathon was in town. We went back to my apt, rode the streetcar around and walked down by the waterfront. HAd dinner at Newport Bay Grille. Said good-bye. I was sad to see my parents leave, but we had a wonderful, busy visit!!!

Sept. 23rd-29th

THANKS AGAIN to everyone who was at my party. I still have a great big smile from knowing I have so many wonderful friends!!

AND FROM TALKING to all of you wonderful people constantly Saturday night, I got a sore throat, and then a bronchial infection and I still sound like a man!!! Monday after work is was straight to home and into the jammies (after the supermarket - city living, lots of SMALLER supermarket trips, no more than you can carry in one load). To bed kind of early.

Tuesday I managed to do laundry, go tanning and then back into my jammies early and to bed at 10pm

Wed., feeling OK, though still having that raspy sexy voice thats about 3 octaves to low for me..I concluded another day at work. Drove home, picked up Aprille and headed to the MARINA...SAILING TIME BABY!!!!! The weather was amazing 80- and sunny and warm...breezy...Curtis, Aprille and I sailed into the sunset, well, back and forth and back and forth across the river by the sunset. OK, well my sailing skills are a TAD rusty. I accidentally "CAME ABOUT" two or three extra times almost decapitating poor Aprille with the boom. She threatened to go below and put Curtis's motorcycle helmet on. Ha-Ha.....After sailing Aprille and I stopped by this cute little Italian outdoor cafe for some fresh mozzarella, tomatos and a glass of wine. Ahh, home by 8:30pm

Thursday was a typical day at work. For you HP people I had lunch with Casey Coleman and JEnnifer Hille, who used to work in R5 with us. They are in Vancouver, that was fun to see them. Just like old times. Our new project platforms havent started yet, so its slower than Id like here, but it will pick up. After work it was home to the gym and tanning. Friends/Survivor and Will and Grace...ok I need a life. Too much TV.

Friday after work I headed home. Curtis,(sailor guy) came over and we took the light rail to to Lloyd cetner. Grabbed a light dinner and then headed over to See SWEET HOME ALABAMA. It was good, a total chick flick though. AFterward, we had eaten too much popcorn so got off the MAX early and walked a long way back to my apartment. Today I have shin splints because I had the wrong shoes on for that walk.

Saturday morning it was up and off to the gym, then to tanning, Starbucks and then jumped on the streetcar to go to NW 23rd. I went shopping and bought a shirt for Saturdays date, had lunch with my friends Ric, was walking around and passed "Urban Wineworks" and went to a one hour wine tasting class on Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Walked up to the glass store and bought some glass flowers, walked to another store and bought a vase and headed home. Around 8pm I went up to Jazz Di Opus. I was ready, so I just headed up there early. Andrew (puccs shell guy) met me at 10pm. We left Jass Di Opus and then headed to some dance club called Rockafellers, then went to PAnorama. Got home somewhere in the vacinity of 3am. Andrew was OK. Well leave it at that.

Sunday it was COLD AND RAINING so I spent the day watching TV and deep cleaning the apt. for the arrival of my folks this week.

Sept. 16th-22nd

The week just didnt go fast enough with the looming excitement of my party in California. The thought of seeing all of my friends was almost too much to bear!!! I have been meeting people at a much faster rate now and am actually starting to settle into Portland but I do miss everyone terribly, the old places we used to go(never thought Id say that!) and that big yellow warm thing in the sky....THE SUN!!!!!

Monday...rain, rain, rain...I went to grab a jacket and realized I dont really have one for the rain, so after work, soaked, I might add, I ran to the sporting goods store and found a yellow and black rain jacket that is waterproof and breathable. Didnt find Gortex. WOW!!! Are rain coats expensive here. $150-$450. CRAZY!!! After that I went home and walked up to Paragon. I met a guy from match for a glass of wine and we talked for a few hours. Home to bed, he was nice, nothing to write home about....

Tuesday back at work..to the supermarket, tanning and then up to the rooftop. This time we had 7 folks on the roof for our weekly wine tasting event. I met two more neighbors and another couple that live in the building, so that was good. I have decided Portland is addicted to wine. EVERY event around here revolves around wine, at least in the Pearl. I cant drink microbeer so maybe Ive just blocked those events out.

Wed. was a normal day. To work, then headed over to Trader Joe's to fill up the ole wine rack. Bunch of winos live in Portland. Need wine to bring to EVERYTHING here. Then it was off to the gym, to tanning and home to pack!!!!!! Sunny Sunny warm CA is only two days away!!! Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday after work there was ....yes....a wine and music party in the park across from my apt. I invited Curtis, (sailing guy) and we went over there with Aprille and Hedy and some other folks from the building. It was a nice time, and then afterward Aprille, JOhn and I went to PAragon and the BLue Hour.

FRIDAY WAS FINALLY HERE!!! I headed out to the airport around lunchtime. My flight was at 3pm and by the time I landed in Sac I had met half the plane!!!

Darcie came and picked me up, then Jen,Darcie, Daniel and I all went out to dinner at PAesanos. After that we all went to the Blue Cue, but were all tired and wanted to be well rested for Saturday so we went home at 10pm.

Saturday, Daniel drove me all over running errands, picking up stuff for the party. We headed over to Darcies and helped to get the house ready! Put up spotlights and Xmas lights and moved furniture. THe band came around 7pm and SQUANDER YOU ROCKED THE HOUSE!!!!!! These guys are so great and made the party. About 100- or so people came. We had no issues or drama. It was so exciting to see everyone!!!!

My friend Rob was actually at a party FRiday night and some guy was telling him about this girl he had met on the plane, and how she was going home for a big party etc....HOW FUNNY IS THAT! TOld you I met half the plane. My cousin Misti was there, it was great to see her....IT WAS JUST A GREAT NIGHT!!!!!!!! We left the party around 2:30am, everyone was just about gone.

SUnday Misti and I went out to breakfast, then she dropped me at the airport, I had a pretty early flight. What a GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!! (Unfortunately, I have no voice today from talking so much on Saturday!!!!!!!)

Sept. 9th-15th

ONE WEEK AND COUNTING until I go home for my going away party. It is going to be a rager as we are expecting about 150 people and have a band playing. I will be sure to take some pix and get them posted. Hopefully soon I can get the website updated!

Monday after work my new friend April stopped by and then I went to the gym.

Tuesday my new friend April stopped by and then I went up to the rooftop and had some cheese and crackers and wine with a few people from the building.

WED. - sad, sad, day. It still breaks my heart to remember 9-11-01. But, life goes on and so shall we. AFter work I ran a few errands and then headed over to the gym, did cardio and went tanning. (Yes, I have to start tanning already here)

Thursday after work I had a date from match.com. I met Curtis at a restuarant, we had a glass of wine and then went to the marina. We went sailing on his 25' Hunter sailboat. I could probably take or leave the guy, but I have to say SAILING WAS AWESOME. We had a bit of a light wind, but the sky was clear and the sun was setting...it was so much fun. I havent done any real sailing in years. It was beautiful out there on the Columbia river......ahhhhhhhhh sailing........

Friday after work I headed home. My friend RICK is in town from Sac again (hes been visiting his parents every month in Vancouver). Around 6:30pm Rick came ove, and my new friend April and Dannie (girl). We all headed to Boogie Woogies. We met up with about 6 other folks there and hung out until about 10pm. From there we were kind of all over the place, so Rick and I just took off by ourselves. Over to KElls Irish pub, and to techno. club 71. Theres a big thing in Portland this past weekend called "NORTHWEST MUSIC FEST", where you can buy wristbands and get into a bunch of bars to see bands for free. Well, we met these two guys that gave us VIP passes. This meant no lines too!!! So Rick and I went to about 5 more bars FRiday night. We were all over the place.

Saturday morning to STarbucks, then I headed out for a facial, went tanning and then home for a nap. Around 6:30pm I met Tom and NIcole (GAAAAAArrrryyyyy - London Boy) Garys friends. We had cocktails and then met a group for a really nice Seafood Dinner at McCormick and Schmicks. After that it was to Jazz De Opus, another bar, and then to Panorama which is a mostly gay dance club. We rolled home around 4am.

Sunday the rains have cometh. I sat home and watched TV and did some stuff around the house. It is POURING OUT today, and I dont have a rain jacket!!I want yellow and cant find one. BUt from what I have been told it is going to rain from now until June. ICK! Even Noahs ark only had to put up with the rain for 40 days and 40 nights.....

Sept. 2nd-Sept. 8th

HI EVERYONE! LEt me just say Portland is a pretty fun city, I just havent had anyone to enjoy it with.

Tuesday I did nothing after work and Wed. it was off to the gym. Thursday I went over to my new friend RICs apt, and they had a little shindig and then we met some of his friends at FIRST THURSDAY. First Thursday is held in the Pearl District where I live. On the first Thursday of the month, all of the art galleries stay open late and there are people selling artsy stuff in the street. It was very crowded. We walked around and ended up having cocktails and dancing at Paragon. I met a new girl named April that lives in my building. Maybe my "first friend".

Friday I had the day off and relaxed, cleaned, did laundry and what not. (pedicure, manicure, eyebrows - girlie stuff). At 4:30pm I left for the airport and picked up my friend Daniel from Sac.

I had a long black dress on and he was all spiffed up. We went to the Portland City Grill which is on the 30th floor of the financial building. We had wine and listened to the pianist and gazed at the INCREDIBLE VIEw, watched the sunset and then about two hours later we were seated at a GREAT WINDOW TABLE. Another 1.5 hours later we finished dinner. Food was incredible, the view was amazing...I had a great time. After that we headed over to BOOGIE WOOGIES, the dueling piano bar and watched the show for awhile. GOt home about 1?

FOR SOME STRANGE reason I woke up at 6am and was ready to go. I think its because I was so excited to have someone to go sightseeing with. GRAB SOME COFFEE, this is one of those NEVERENDING SATURDAYS!!! We headed down to Starbucks about 7am to get going. Jumped into the car and drove EAST to Multnomah falls. Hiked the little trail, ohhhhdddd and ahhhhhhdddd and then headed WEST. 2.5 hours later we were at SEASIDE for lunch along the ocean. Drove around a little and headed back to Portland.

Then we decided to pretend we were engaged and go and look at half a million dollard townhouses that are in my neighborhood. NICE! Anyone have some spare change, Im ready to move!!!!!! After that we walked down to the waterfront, went to the WRONG festival, and then headed over to the BONES AND BREW festival. HAd mucho ribs, a few beers..listened to some music and started our journey on foot again. We passed a FEMAL IMPERSONATOR bar and decided we would come back. Hit the Italian restaurant by my apt. for some mozarella and tomatos and wine and to rest our weary feet. Home to change....back out on foot. Walked back down to the impersonator bar and hit the 8:30 show. IT was great!!! Reminded me of the movie BIRDCAGE with Robin WIlliams.

After the show, hit a local jazz bar and listened to some Jazz, stopped by a trendy nightclub we saw and ended up at Paragon by my house. 12:30am...DONE! what a long day, we walked and drove so much!!!!!

SUnday slept in and then headed out to walk around some more....though we covered most of portland friday night and saturday by foot. We walked the NorthWest district, and went into a few trendy furniture type shops....got some coffee...grabbed his things and drove downtown again.

Stopped for THAI food. OK, we got a 4 spicy out of 5 and I think 3 would have been better. IT WAS HOT, HOT , HOT...but yummy. Took him to the Airport and then just relaxed the rest of the afternoon/evening. I had a really really really fun weekend and actually enjoyed living in Portland. I just hate not having any friends here right now.

August 26th - September 1st

Can you believe it is September...not fair. Somehow the summer just seemed to slip away again.

Monday I had some supplier visits which went well, actually the new job is going very well, which is good. I am getting busier everyday and I like it!

So, Monday after work...off to the gym

Tuesday...off to the gym.

Wednesday...I had every intention of going to the gym, but ended up heading to Nycoles after work. I washed my car and took her daughter for a ride. Then headed home to watch AMERICAN IDOL!

Thursday was just the start to becoming one of the LONGEST WEEKENDS I have ever experienced!!!Today is Tuesday and I am still "a trainwreck". My body hurts, I have no idea why, my brain hurts, Im a wreck and back in the office. Im DEFINITELY LOOKING FORWARD TO A QUIET WEEK AT THE GYM AND HOME.

Thursday I went out with my neighbor, Danielle. She and her husband just moved in next door. I am glad I had them check on the kitties, at least on Saturday, because the apartment complex DID NOT!! I came home to kitties with no food, no water in bowl, litter disgusting and the poor babies had knocked over plants, dug up plants and had EVERY KITTY TOY they own strewn all over the apt. Can we say they were VERY BORED!!! Poor babies.

Anyway, got up early Friday morning and headed out to the aiport. (better get coffee now because you will be EXHAUSTED BY THE END Of this!) Darcie picked me up and we headed off to LAKE TAHOE for ED AND TAMARAS wedding. We checked in and did some gambling and all met in the bar for a "pre-reception". SO MANY OF my friends were there. It was so much fun. We ended up across the street at another bar with a guitar playing singer and he was wonderful. THink we made it to bed around 4am.

Darcie and I were up early on Saturday. We had a lovely brunch downstairs and then headed to do some gambling, then we went and laid out at the beach. Back for showers and off to grab a cocktail at my favorite spot, Bridgetenders in Tahoe City and off to the wedding.

The wedding was great and they had changed thier vows... "Tamara please repeat after me....blah, blah...and then the minister said "and I promise" and Tamara says "and I promise" to "not spend all of our money and drive us into bankruptcy" and Ed had to say "and I promise....to let Tamara set the thermostat."

IT was nice and light, yet serious. THe church was amazing nestled in Tahoe with a lot of windows. We headed back to the reception. IT was beautiful!! I have to say one of the better weddings I have been too. Everything was just perfect. Ed and Tamara did a great job!!

So, here I am in Lake Tahoe and I go for a walk down on the dock during the reception and I hear "SUZANNNNNNNNE" and their are some of my friends from Sac, up in Tahoe boating for the weekend. TOo funny! We danced the night away...and I got to see so many of my friends, and the reception was wonderful, food, white xmas lights. Every chair with a white cover and giant blue bow, giant windows over looking the lake and the setting sun...GORGEOUS!. Lovely! After the reception we all ended up in the casino until who knows how late.

Still with me? We're just getting going. That was only Friday and Saturday.....Sunday AM, Darcie and I got up and had brunch again, then drove from North SHore, to South SHore Tahoe where a bunch of our friends were camping. We sat around the campsite and when everyone got there, we all went across the street. Theres a bar right on the beach!! with a great great band. It was sunny and breathtaking and we sang and danced. About 10+ of my friends were there.! and in the bathroom I hear SUZANNNNNNEEEEE!!!! and more of my friends from Sac were also up there. Around 5pm Darcie walked back and grabbed the car (bless her heart so I could spend a few more minutes with my friends.) We (she) drove the 2.5 hours back to Sacramento and she dropped me right off at the State Fair. I met my friend, Daniel out front, we dropped off my suitcases and went in and found all of his friends. HOW OR WHERE I had energy at this point is beyond me.....There was an 80s band playing and we all stood on the chairs and danced and sang. Then we went and rode all of the "BIG RIDES" at the fair....FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I got to bed around 1am, Monday We dropped Beth at the airport, Daniel and I went out to lunch and then I headed back to the airport. LIKE A TRAIN WRECK. I flew, I took the subway, I took the streetcar. I got home at 7pm......WHAT A CRAZY WEEKEND!!!!!

I miss everyone so much and I had such a great time with everyone. THANKS!! It was a special (though exhausting) weekend.

August 19th-25th

A BIG HELLO TO EVERYONE from "where the sun dont shine" hahahahahahahahaha. I havent seen the sun in days (as of Thursday AM).....and it is VERY DEPRESSING, glad "its the nicest month of the year! here!" Hope im not on Prozac by January....But, let me tell you what I have found out. There is a small pool of folks, healthy, skinny, tan, athletic folks....they are all at my GYM.. and you know what else? they ARE ALL from California, all of them sporting CA t-shirts, and when I meet people they are all from CA...too funny!! It made me laugh HE-HE.

Monday it was off to work, grey day...then that much needed trip to the supermarket.

Tuesday, off to work...grey day..... and 55! way to heat up with August! Went to the gym.

Wed. off to work...grey day..unable to hold the steering wheel due to pain from Tuesday at the gym...60! get out your swimuits folks!!!

Thursday. off to work...grey day...50..but promises of 70 and raining by this afternoon. I can hardly wait!!! HEhehehehe.

Well, at last, no rain, INSTEAD THE SUN came out. YEEEEHAAAAAAAA. David (38, race car guy) came and picked me up in his convertible Porsche. I met David right when I moved here, super nice guy, just looks kind of older to me..not my usual type...but anyway, we went for a drive and then out to eat on the river in WA. Watched the sailboats out racing. It was nice. Dinner was yummy (steak,clams,salad....)After ward we drove around the city, PRESIDENT BUSH was in town and so a lot of the roads were closed. We went up to the hills and drove around really fast in the Porsche, that was REALLY FUN. So, talking with David, he can get me into one day RACING SCHOOL with a car, helmet and roll bars and everything for cost. HOW FREAKING COOL WOULD THAT BE!!!!!! I have never gotten to drive a race car before....GO SPEED, I mean ZAN RACER GO!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday was sunny and I was in a good mood. ABSOLUTLEY NO PLANS for the weekend, but this is how it shaped up....Friday I got home from work and got a call from "Manny", he is from match.com, wht the heck, its that or stay home...I met Manny and he was very cute, but 5-7, he told me he was 5-11, WHATEVER!!!! (like I wouldnt notice??????) we went to a huge brewery (NOTE HERE. I CANNOT DRINK MICROBEER, I know this, it makes me very very sick the next day). We then went to my new favorite bar, Boogie Woogies, the dueling piano bar and then to Kells Irish pub. We had fun, he is a nice guy, no one I think Ill date but we may hang out again....

Saturday, refer to note A. I DID NOTHING. I AM NEVER DRINKING MICROBEER AGAIN. I knew this, I ignored it, I was reaffirmed in the fact I get illllllllllll.

Sunday....STILL had a killer headache, but managed to get up and do the Sunday stuff, laundry, trash, vaccuum, dust...etc...rant to the supermarket, went to find a supplier for a Monday meeting. Around 5pm, a guy named Sean called. His friend Jenn found my name on match. and contacted me. I thought this was kind of outgoing, so we had been emailing. He picked me up at Starbucks and we went out for pizza...AHHH PORTLAND HAS GOOD PIZZA...we played video golf and drove up in the hills in his JEEP and did some sightseeing. (55 and cloudy,,,burrrrrr). He is a nice guy too. OK cute. We will go out again, he has total friend potential, he said hes not in the market for dating either, but thought is was funny his friend from BOston worked so hard in his behalf for people to date. He is truly a nice guy.

Off to Tahoe this weekend for some SUN AND FUN and Ed K.s wedding.

August 12th-18th
Hi Everyone-

I hope this week finds you well. Monday I was still very sad, I am doing much better this week. Monday after work I went on home. My new friend Tanya from work, she just moved here from the Bay Area, came over with her boyfriend. We had pizza and chatted and then I gave them my old coffee table and end table.

Tuesday after work I headed up to PARAGON, a trendy restaurant by my apt. I met with RIC, who is the neighbor of one of my coworkers. HE just moved here from Texas..also in the market for friends. We had a great time chatting and discussing a strategy for getting our old social lives back. He is a social planner just like me, so maybe we can double the power here..a hockey fan too. We talked about how NONE of the women here wear makeup and all look like they just threw on whatever was in the top drawer of the dresser, how the guys dont shave and have piercings all over their bodies.,...how dating might be quite the challenge for both of us...it was good to console. (YES I KNOW I SAID I WAS NEVER DATING AGAIN...but I moved so I have to try).

Wed. after work I headed up to the rooftop deck and BBQd with apt. dweller Brian. We met in the elevator and he just moved here from Chicago. He is 23 and went to U of M and is from Beverly Hills, MI. Small world. We had pork tender loin, salad, and potato and corona's. It was a great day to be on the roof and overlook the city. At 8pm he was meeting friends at a local pub and asked if I wanted to go. We walked the strenuous 3 blocks to get there and there were about 10 of them. I CAN NOT GET USED TO PORTLAND. Out of the 20+ women in the bar, NOT ONE had ANY make-up on and EVERY LAST ONE of them looked like they just jumped out of the shower, didnt comb their hair and put it up in a scrunchy or clip and threw on whatever was laying next to their bed (EVERYONE LOOKS like this!)...TOTO, your not in California anymore....SOMEONE shoot me if I come home FAT (really fat) with no makeup in a t-shirt with nappy hair.....PLEASE!!!!!!!PROMISE ME!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, it will always be remembered as the DAY FROM HELL!!!! I spent the entire day on the phone with people that have no clue. It turns out they have LOST all of my relocation paperwork and I dont exist. They have LOST all of my work mail and I do not existin CA or OR....they HAVE LOST MY INSURANCE INFORMATION and I no longer exist in CA and NEVER existed in Oregon. Tell me, what are the chances. Am I here? Do I exist? or am I a figment of my own imagination? Then, being new to the area I made a total stellar move. Walked to the streetcar, waited, then walked to the light rail, waited, then walked a ways to the Radisson to meet John Gourlay, a friend and coworker from Roseville. I FINALLY get tot he Radisson 45 minutes later and realize I could have walked over the big red bridge and pretty much been right there!!! Duh!

I have been out on match.com. I am finally going to meet someone for a drink after work. He WILL NOT send over his picture so I am expecting an old, fat, bald, short man......we will see.

Friday I went and met John, typical sales guy, ok looking, our "date" lasted about an hour and that was it. No loss. I called my new friend RIC, who thankfully was up for going out. We drove around a little and then went to KELLS IRISH PUB. This place was really fun and we met a lot of people. LAter in the evening Ric left and I decided to stay. I made new friends.......YES LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, THE BLUE ANGELS were in town for the air show and they were all at KELS, flight suits and all....they took me "under their wing" hahahahaha since I was there alone. (One of them looked so much like my EX, CHP MIke. It was almost scary!!!!!!!) We went across the street to a dance club and I hung out with them, and met some other people. It was fun. TOok a cab home.

Weekends are still lonely during the day. I took a long walk up to Pioneer square, grabbed a starbucks and sat on top of the fountain watching a Christian rock band for awhile. Headed to the mall and bought some new skirts. The length here is just below the knee which looks better on my figure than mini skirts.

My friend Rick from Sacto was in town. We headed out to sushi and then to BOOGIE WOOGIES piano bar. The home of the bachelorette party. We HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!! That place is a kick in the pants!!!! At midnight we had to leave because someone drank too much...and it WASNT me.

Sunday at 3pm I went and met a guy named Erik,(match.com) we went biking all over town, grabbed a beer and biked all over again. He was pretty fun, ok looking...

So I was at least very busy last week. The weather here is HORRIBLE today, and I am back in the office, looking forward to a much quieter week. Gym,work, bed...I miss you all. Take care!!!!

August 7th-August 11th

Hi Everyone - Things are going OK here in Portland. I was very sad yesterday and was ready to "go home", but I am home and need to get used to it.

Work has started. LAst week everyone was on vacation so it was really quiet. I expect this week to pick up and next week is already going to be crazy busy, which is good.

Wed. I went to the gym after work.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED " THE WORDS REVERSE COMMUTE ARE WONDERFUL"

The gym is very convenient being across the street from my apt. I understand there's one by HP also if I want to work out over here.

Thursday I went over to my friend Nycoles house. SHe used to work with me in Roseville. She lives next to HP now. We went and picked up her daughter from bible school, I got to wash my car (much needed) and I stayed for dinner. She has a 10 year old and 7 month old. Her husband is very nice too.

Friday after work I took myself out for a cocktail. I went to OBA, there was no one in there. Then I came home and I went out with "DAVID". He is 38 and I met him last weekend. A very nice guy, though I am not physically attraced to him. WE went for a drink on the river, then we went to an Irish pub and went dancing.

OK. WHAT I HAVE LEARNED: I am fat in California and I am VERY VERY VERY skinny in Portland. There is no reason to lose 20 pounds, just move NORTH 600 miles. :-)

I was SO SKINNY compared to almost ALL of the women in this place. Did great things for my ego (though I am still dieting - as always).

Saturday I waited around for my new tables. They arrived around noon. Then I had to take the coffee table base and take it up to the store because I couldnt get it together. My new tables weigh about 100 pounds and are almost all glass and metal. Very modern, very very heavy. I have sealed the deal that movers will have to move me from now on. After the tables were all set I walked my bike up to the bike shop. Had a late lunch at an outdoor cafe and embarked on a two hour ride around town.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED: THE MEN IN PORTLAND fall into one of three categories. GAY,HOMELESS OR JUST PLAIN EARTHY GRUNGY SCARY.

I am not planning on expecting much out of the dating world. Against my better judgement I put a profile back on match.com, but havent gone out with anyone yet.

I was supposed to go out with my friend Nycole Saturday night, but she didnt return any of my phone calls, I hope everything is OK.

While out n about I met some people at the river. They over heard me on the phone to Darcie and asked if I wanted to meet them out Saturday night. We were going to go to a gay bar, but at the last minute we headed to an Irish pub and just sat outside. It was a mellow night, but fun to be out. COLD too, I wore pants boots and a jacket. My friends called from a party in SAC, which made me me feel great, but when I told them I was "out with my new friends" they hung up on me, not sure why, but nonetheless it really hurt my feelings and made me sad. Yes I have been out n about and keeping busy, but it doesnt take away that nagging perpetual feeling your ALONE and your friends arent here. I"m sure it will get better, its just tough in the beginning. (Poor poor me :-)

Sunday I slept in and was the epitomy of lazy and bored, but it was really nice to DO NOTHING. I watched TV until 3pm when I finally dragged myself out for another 2 hour bike ride. I rode up and down the river and over bridges. Reminded me a bit of Sac and I started to cry, but realized I would probably wipe out on my bike so I stopped crying. Enough of the Poor me syndrome for the day. Went home and watched TV till 11pm. Sundays are generally long boring days anyway.

This Saturday my friend Rick from Sac is going to be in town, we are going to SINJU SUSHI by my apt. and out n about to check out whats "going on in the PEARL".

Talk to you all soon.

AUGUST 8th!!!

Hi Everyone! I am here in Portland. Before I left I went on a four day houseboating excursion with the "gang". As usual it was filled with sunshine and way way way too much alcohol. I came back burned, bruised and hungover. ( I believe, this is still called TONS OF FUN!) Good thing we only do this once a year. We played umpteen hours of catch phrase, floated around, had a hot tub and enjoyed many entertaining moments from each and every individual in the group. A good time was had by all. Again, glad its only once a year!!!

While Darcie was in Tahiti I was able to stay at her house the last week i was in town. I left for Portland on the AM of Tuesday July 30th. The drive took about 10 hours and was OK for 8.5 of it. I had Tuxxie and Tazzie and they both werent too happy to be in the car for that long. But some kitty tranquilizers and a few caffeine pills and we made the journey. I arrived at my new digs around 7pm EXHAUSTED!! I opened the door to find a ton of boxes just piled everywhere. Moving from a larger apartment to a smaller apartment was quite a chore, but two days from 6am to 9pm of solid unpacking and organizing and I am in.

The location of my new apartment is incredible!!! Starbucks is below me, 24 hour fitness, ATM, sushi, restaurants, salons, bars, post office, Whole Foods Supermarket, all within blocks of my new apartment. The new apartment is pretty nice, lots and lots of windows, track lighting and very modern. (still hate the carpet, but I put down a throw rug and it will do) I did make one BIG purchase as a moving present to myself and bought the COOLEST coffee and end tables you have ever seen!! The are chrome and glass, very very very modern!!! The coffee table is kidney shaped and the end tables round.

After unpacking I started to look around town. I found Portland City Grill on the 30th floor of the financial building and took myself out Friday night for a glass of wine and dinner. Still kind of hard doing everything by myself, but I"m doing OK at it. I have ridden the streetcar around in a circle (it stops in front of my apt!!) and my new apartment overlooks all glass $600,000 townhouses and the ALL GLASS GYM in the building. YES, ladies, my bedroom overlooks wealthy men working out!!!! woo-hoo

Everyone seems pretty nice, though I havent really met anyone yet. I took myself out to sushi one night, and had lunch in the "Northwest district" one afternoon. Tuxxie and Tazzie love the view, they are buidling townhouses next door and it is very very busy at my place! There are also two birds that seem just as interested in kitties as they are in the birds, so Tuxxie and Tazzie spend half the day "hunting" the birds from my bedroom to the living room. It is pretty entertaining as Taz jumped right into the bedroom window trying to get one. I have put birdseed out to make sure they stay around, though they "chirp" a lot, its a little annoying, but I"m gone everyday.

I have started my new job, and thankfully everyone is on vacation this week. This has given me some time to get acquainted with the new buildings, projects and the few people that are here. They are upgrading my building for earthquakes so we have to windows, and the office furniture and phones are a hodge podge of all thats old and left over from who knows when, but it's ok. Since it rains here all winter anyway. So far, The weather has been OK. It will take some getting used to, thats for sure, I just keep waiting for the clouds to go away and they never do!

No plans for the weekend..imagine that!!!!! I have been working out a bit (cardio) and just trying to get established into a routine. I will probably just go out and go exploring again this weekend. I need to get my bike tuned up as there is a great bike trail along the river that I am looking forward to biking on.

Take care and I miss you all.....

LOVE, ZAN

June 27th- July 8th

Hi Everyone-

OK, I can sum up this past week as CRAZY and trying to get ready to move.....

As you all know by now I AM MOVING TO PORTLAND so this will be the last Zans World for a few weeks. I just found out my new division doesnt have a computer for me, so if I cant take mine (and it doesnt look good), things could be quiet for awhile, that or I will finally have to break down and buy one for home since I"m losing my laptop.

Vacation was EXCELLENT. I got home late Thursday night. Friday my mom and I went shopping and then mom, dad and I went to the yacht club for dinner. I love the yach t club!!!!!!!

Saturday I went and Saw Jessica and family and saw the little ones, then went over to visit a VERY PREGNANAT Julie Keeler, then for dinner and cocktails with Kelly and Becky. We went to Dick O Dows in Birmingham, the Kelly and I headed to the Post in Fernadale. I TALKED TO DOMINCK HASEK ( The Red Wings Goalie!!! and saw SERGEI FEDEROV theree!!!!!!) it was pretty fun. Sunday I met mom and dad and friends at the yacht club again for dinner.

Monday I helped my dad build a shed out back and all I learned from that experience is that I have no deisire to go into carpentry!!!!

Tuesday, was a quiet day., then that evening mom, dad and i went out to dinner and we took my mom to see the travelling CIRQUE DE SOLEIL show. It was really really good.

Wed. mom and hit the country club for lunch and then I went out with my neighbor and old babysitter, Susan. We went out to the bar and my friend Brian met us up there. He shows up with his friend Kyle, who turned out to be my 8th grade boyfriend!!!!!!! How crazy is that!!! My 8th grade boyfriend is pretty darn hot too!!!

Thursday it was off to Indiana. My friend Kimmy came over and we embarked on our 5 hour drive to see Karen and family and Lisa and Daughter. We BBQd and watched some fireworks and caught up. It was so great to see my old friends from college I cant even tell you!!!!!!!

Friday back to Michigan. Saturday night MOm, Dad and I headed over to the yacht club again for dinner and fireworks. We had our private show and it was so incredibly to be right under the fireworkks!!!!! It was really great!!!!!!!!

Sunday I packed and relaxed, had some Michigan pizza and to bed early to fly back.

June 17th-23rd

Hi Everyone-

hmmmmmmmm let me see. Monday I just went home after work and relaxed. Tuesday and Wednesday I went to the gym. (Try not to be too shocked).

Thursday I had a softball game and then the team and I went up to the Owl Club. Sadly.....the Owl CLub is closing down and our Thursday night bar of choice, will be gone. And our softball team, " THE PINT KNIGHTS" in honor of pint night at the Owl, will be homeless.... :-(

Friday I had the day off and took care of this and that around the house. Then My friend MAtt and I went to the concert in the park and met up wtih some other folks, headed over to STREETS OF LONDON pub and made it home by midnight again.

Saturday I didnt really do anything, waited for my friends to come over all day. Around 4pm, Rick, Nancy,Jeff and I headed to Fresno (3 hours) to see our friend Eric. We havent seen him in quite a while. He looks great. Saturday night the four of us went out to a really nice dinner and hit a bar. Saturday AM Eric came over and we all went out to lunch and then to his parents cabin on Schafer lake. We went out on the pontoon boat and sat around on the veranda. It was nice. Made it back to Sac around 8pm.

June 10th-16th

Hi Everyone- The job req.for Portland has officially been approved and opened, now I wait to hear if I got the job. I went down to Cuptertino (Silicon Valley) and had an informational interview session there, both really great jobs. Houston, TX wants me, but they need a job req.

Monday after work I was exhausted so I went home and just relaxed. Zans "boaty weekend" took it's toll.

Tuesday I went to the gym.

Wed. I had an MSU alumni meeting and then went home and did some chores around the house.

Thursday......GO RED WINGS. I played softball and left after half the game and hot footed it over to the OWL CLUB to watch the Wings take home the STANLEY CUP!. Again, alone, in the corner, with my jersey on, yelling all along.....Well, here I was counting, 10,9,8,7,6, for the end of the game.....and so was everyone in the bar!!! but you know why? the hot dog eating contest was ending at the exact same time. hmmmm. Happy we won the cup, my jersey and I went over to the Onyx, there I saw 3 guys wtih Jerseys on and you would have thought we had been friends for years!!!!

Friday after work Darcie and I headed up to the concert in the park. That was fun and relaxing. Afterward I joined the Davis family (TAd, Deanna, Adena (9) and Trevor (3) back to their house for pizza. I saw Adenas dance video (very good) and we hung out. I did manage to make it home by an impressive 12am.

saturday morning I putzed around the house and ran some errands, then around 2pm I headed up to see Mark and Andreas new place. They bought a great house with an incredible view up in "the hills". Tonie and beau Brian came up to. SO, the 5 of us chatted, checked out the neighbors and property and stuff. Then we started playing croquet....well, we were playing while drinking Marks giant tumblers of Margharitas....needless to say getting the big ball under the little coat hanger things was quite the challenge while drinking GIANT margharitas in the sunshine!! This made for an incredibly loud, challening, laughter filled, non-rule following long game of croquet!!1 But an incredibly fun one!!! Diana and daughter (14) came over and we had a great candlelight BBQ outside. We were all out by 11:30pm.

Sunday... after driving home, because all croquet members were now legally required to spend the night...my friend Jeffy came over. He had an extra ticket to the "Modesto Summerfest 5". This was an all day concert just like "A Day in the Zone" but it was in Modesto. We sat around all afternoon listening to bands (Dishwalla, Remy Zero, the Calling) and soaking up the warm (HOT) California sunshine. It was a good day. I am VERY VERY tan now.

June 3rd-8th

Hi everyone!!!!! It was a fun "boaty" weekend, but all this fun might be over soon. I am interviewing for jobs within HP in Porltand, Oregon and Cupertino (Bay Area) so we will see what happens. It is time to make a move............

Monday after work I went and watched the Red Wings game with my friend Doug.

Tuesday I actually went to the gym and worked out, I think I remember what the gym is?!!!!!!!!

Wed. I went to the dentist, no cavities! and then my friend Trish had a BBQ. It was all women, and one guy, Brian, and he was a good sport playing cabana boy to all of us.

Thursday we had a "bye" for softball, so it was off to watch Red Wings hockey again. When I got home some of my neighbors were hanging out by the pool, so i did that for awhile too.

Friday I had the day off and my friend Mike (Lint) took me out on his boat. Afterward, we went and met Darcie and Diane at the concert in the park. Then headed over to Streets of London for dinner. I did manage to get home by 10pm. Pretty good.

Saturday I drove down to the marina and helped my friend Mike (Porter) and Kevin polish and clean their new boat. It is 28 feet, an older boat, but really nice. It was a great day to hang out on the dock. I started to watch the Red wings game and then went home. I packed up my stuff and decided to spend the night at Gregg and Mikes house since we were getting an early start on the boat on Sunday. (or that was the original plan) The Red Wings went into triple overtime!! so we watched the end of the game, and did some late night "boat" shopping for groceries and beverages for the boat.

Sunday came and so did the winds! It was so windy out!!!!!!! We piled onto the boat (28 footer) and headed up the river. Stopped for gas at Miller Park marina. THIS IS WHERE YOU ALL WILL BE ENTERTAINED WITH ANOTHER ZANS WORLD EXCLUSIVE STORY.

The guys pumped 33 gallons of gas into the boat....something came loose and the hose fell off and now 25 gallons of gas were pumped right into the bilge and was rolling around in the bottom of the boat. WELL, we are now a floating fire hazard and the marina was shut down. The fire department came (5 of them) and so did the marine sherrif. Luckily, we discovered the problem, and no one was injured, but it did put a bit of a delay in they day. 2.5 hours later we had the gas pumped out and in "safe" containers, the fire department left and the boat was aired out...so off to the river we went. Sunday was "A DAY IN THE ZONE", which is a big day where 7 bands played. We anchored out in the river behind the concert where EVERYONE ELSE was too!!!!. I knew everyone on the river and they all had their yachts out. It was fun to see everyone again, and jump from boat to boat, talking with people. I generally don't do the "river crowd" scene, but it was fun for a day.

We left around 8:30pm and then headed over to the Virgin Sturgeon. At this point we ALL should have just gone home and I will leave it at that. Too much sun and beveraging promotes drama...nothing too terribly bad, but I felt bad for Mike, he had the responsibility of the boat and trying to keep tabs on everyone, which didnt seem to be an easy task. but we all lived through it.

May 28th - June 1st

Hi Everyone. Well things are just crazy here in the world of professional sports. Since I have quit dating forever! I have lots of time to dedicate to other stuff. Tuesday after work if was off to Mandangos to watch the Kings!!!!! Great fun.

Wed. it was back to Mandangos to watch the Red Wings....GO WINGS!!!!!!!

Thursday I had softball. WE lost and it was 100 degrees outside. Tough game. Too hot.

Friday afternoon we had a work picnic out at the lake. Then I went to Mandangos at 3:20pm!!! and barely was able to get the 12 seats I needed. The REd Wings started at 4pm. and I alone, 1 TV out of 40 wore my SHANNY jersey and yelled at the TV. 7-0! What a game, what a game....after the Wings, the Sac Kings came on. So I stayed and cheered for the Kings. Finally got home about 11pm exhausted...and ready for bed.

Saturday I was up early and off to see the new Cox Mansion in Folsom. Chuck and Sandy have bought a new home and it is ABSOLUTELY gorgeus. (and huge). Randy came over and the four of us went out to the lake in their new X-5 wakeboard boat. Unfortuntaly it wasnt that nice out and extremely windy so we couldnt wakeboard, but got a lot of sun tooling around and eating and beveraging all day long. Afterward, Chuck made us burgers and we watched a wakeboarding video. Home to bed.........ahhhhh two nights in a row on a weekend, in bed by 11pm!!!!!

Sunday I got up early and spent 3 hours cleaning, which is a long time for an apartment!!! Balcanced the checkbook and headed over to SUDWERKS to watch the game. Darcie joined me and were both on CHANNEL 3 TV!!!! My other friends were at another bar (McGees) and they all called to say they saw me on TV. Cool huh? my brief claim to fame!!!!! After the game I headed home (we lost) and went to bed. Busy week.

This week is filled with RED WINGS hockey....go WINGS!!!!!!!!!

MAY 21st 27th

Above, the San Diego shoreline

Hi, I was hoping to get back into the gym and into diet mode, but guess it's going to have to wait one more week.

Tuesday I went and replaced my $100 toothbrush that Tuxxie "wayne gretzky" kitty hockey pucked off the counter while I was out of town.....and then had a glass of wine with my neighbors girlfriend.

Wed. after work headed to MANDANGOS to watch the Red Wings CRUSH the Avalanche 2-1 in OT. About 7 of my friends went, I dont think anyone really likes hockey out here, but the support was nice. !!!!!! Wed. was also supplemented by the GORGOUS DOZEN RED ROSES that Sean sent me. They were so tall I had to measure them, 23'!!!!!!! crazy. They are so pretty and smell so wonderful.

Thursday I had a softball game after at 5pm. Headed home and got ready to go out to dinner with my friend Manfreid. We headed to Hukilau and then met up with Deb and went to Maces and to the Club 2-me. Got home about 12pm.

Sean and I caught the early flight out of Sac and headed down to San Diego. Well, we ate lunch at the airport and I got really really sick. We managed to go to Jose's in LaJolla (la-Hoya) to watch the Kings game, but I was pretty sick and just sat there with my water. Needless to say we went back and went to bed.

Saturday i was feeling better, but not great. We went shopping for some things at the mall and then headed over to the San Diego Zoo. It was fun, but really really crowded on the holiday weekend. After that, we drove to Pacific Beach and had a late lunch. Sean got a really bad migrain, so we went back to the hotel about 6pm.

Sunday we got up and had brunch and then headed to Tijuana,Mexico. Spent the day in TJ, walked around and stuff. IT was a very long line to get back over the border and about a 3 mile walk. without going into detail, my friend Alison ended up picking me up at the Marriott Sunday night, (THANK YOU ALLY, I owe you big) and she took me to the airport in the morning. Sean and I will no longer be seeing each other again. AND just for the record, Im never dating again.

I had caught the 8am flight home. Got unpacked and stuff and then went over to my friend Tonies house. She and I sat in her front yard and ate sunflower seeds and gabbed. After that, I headed over to Darcie's for awhile. Went home and then back over to Darcies, she made me dinner.

MAY 13th-20th

Hi Friends! After being sick all weekend I finally felt better on MOnday. So I celebrated by getting a manicure and a pedicure.

Tuesday after work I went to the gym (yes, we remember that place :-) and did 35 minutes of cardio. I didnt want to overdo it.

Wed. I had an MSU alumni club meeting at Sudwerks. It was a great day so we sat outside, and then Darcie and her friend Jeff met me for a beer and some German food. mmmmmmmmmmm.

Thursday I should have worked out but ITS MY TV NIGHT. I know, I know, but everything I like to watch is on Thursdays. Survivor at 7, friends at 8 and Will and Grace at 9......what a lineup!!! I was sidetracked after work by Tonie and Doug for cocktails and beers, but still managed to get back in time to see Sean voted off Survivor.

FRIDAY OFF TO VEGAS. Sean's mom took us to the airport. Let me just preface this by I WILL NOT FLY UNITED THROUGH SAN FRANCISCO FROM SAC!!!!! 9 HOURS! YES< I SAID 9 HOURS! WE finally got to Vegas. Then to make matters worse, our suite was on the 4th floor.(manadalay Bay). Not to be a spoiled "you know what" but this was completely unacceptable and our view of valet parking made me sad. Fortunately, Sean got a hold of the manager and we were moved to the 24th floor!!! Luckily our rough start didnt upset the rest of the weekend.

We headed down to the floor to play some black jack. Sean gave me $100 to play with. Well, little miss 7 hands in a row, got 4 blackjacks and 3 21s!!! Together we made $1200, nice way to start out the weekend. We had decided to split anything over $500, but decided to have Sean take all the money and pay for everything!!!! So, on the plane we met a guy that gave us comp. passes to The Rum Jungle, we skipped the 3 hour line and walked right in. Hung out for awhile and then decided to go to the nudie bar. We got a limo (no taxis for us). We went to a bar called the Spearmin Rhino. The two bouncers out front were Actually the bouncers in the movie OCEANS 11. We said hi to them. Our limo driver got us right in, no line (We were ALL KINDS OF SPECIAL ALL WEEKEND, NOT SURE WHY, BUT WE WERE VIP ALL WEEKEND). We had a nice table, and let's just say we both had an interesting time at the nudie bar. Finally rolled home around 4:30am.

Woke up really early, ordered some room service for breakfast, threw on our suits and shorts and headed to the Stratosphere to ride the BIGSHOT ride on top. (took a cab there). Then it was back to Mandalay to the pool. AAAHHHHHHHH 102 and sunny. I relaxed with my Dacquri's in the shallow water section of the wave pool. It was Grande!!!

Sean wanted to watch the Kings/Lakers game so we showered and got ready for dinner and headed to the PALMS CASINO. This is owned by the Maloof family, who also own the Sacramento Kings. We watched the game and when we went to leave, there was about 100 people in line for a taxi, so we politely went to the valet captain and asked for a limo (we were dressed nice to). Well, she wasnt' able to get us a limo and went out of her way to pull a Valet off of duty and drive us to the restaurant in one of the Maloofs private cars. (If that was OK with us). We tipped and were off. Well, when we pulled up to the Golden Stampeded steakhouse(awesome place!!! a lot of history in Vegas) in the maloofs private car (the valets knew each other). The owner of the restaurant immediately sat us at the best table in the house, and gave us complimentary Cognac after dinner. Not to mention is the second best service I have EVER had in my life. Well, the restaurant got us a limo and we were off.

The limo driver gave us VIP passes to Coyote Ugly and the House of Blues, but SOMEBODY (not me) got really intoxicated and I had to escort him upstairs to bed. NO I WAS NOT HAPPY BEING IN THE ROOM BY 10PM in VEGAS and watching TV. In fact, I was NOT A FUN PERSON AT ALL!!!!!!!!! But Sean doesnt usually drink and now I know why, he's not a fun happy drunk. But enough of that. Since we got so much sleep we were up and had breakfast at 7am and then went and hit the tables. We won another $900 and headed over to the Shark Reef exhibit in Mandalay. It was pretty cool.

AGAIN, 9 hours later we got home and I will REPEAT DO NOT FLY UNITED THROUGH SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday I got up to torrential rains and thunder. Unheard of in May here in Sacramento. Wouldnt have been a problem, but i was playing 18 at Del Rio Country CLub at 1pm in Modesto. I called and they said to come down. Pacific Southwest Container rented out the club. We had lunch, and did get rained and hailed on, but there was some sun. Got 18 in and then had awards and appetizers. I got home around 8pm. What a fun day. I definitely am buying new clubs. I drove about 30 yards with mine and the 3 guys I played with let me use their drivers and I was averging 160+ yards. I did note that out of the 150 people at the tournament only 7 of us were women. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Sean is taking me to San Diego next weekend. We are staying at the LaJolla (La-Hoya) Marriott and are planning on hitting Sea World and Tijuana. (and the pool).

MAY 6th-12th

I can hear my parents now: "Those that burn the candle at both ends will get sick" and......... "You are not as young as you used to be".

Monday I felt horrible, but thought that might just be a reverberation from Cinco De Mayo, but Tuesday I felt worse and WEd. even worse. Needless to say everyday after work I went home and put on my jammies and went to bed.

Thursday, hardly able to talk, sick and stuffy I went home at lunch. I did lay out by the pool for awhile, because I am under the delusion that I can "bake" sickness out of me......whatever.....didnt work but I started to get a good tan!!!! Thursday I went to bed around 5pm.

I have to say that being sick all weekend I didnt do too much (in my mind), but I guess compared to the average Joe, I had a pretty average weekend. hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Friday I had the day off. Tried the pool theory again for awhile, still sick, but a little better (and a little tanner). I had to go into work for about an hour, then Sean and I went to the mall and bought shorts and he took me to dinner at PF CHANGS. We rented movies (Senseless -stupid, but ok and OCEANS 11 - MUST RENT). To bed early.

Ahhhhh Saturday. Felt a lot better. Headed over to Bleachers sports Bar with Darcie, Diane and Sean to watch the KINGS play and win in OT by 2 points. Great Game. After that, Sean and I went across the street to Cal Expo to the Sacramento County Fair. Seemed like a good idea. Looked at the exhibits and the animals. Had a corn dog (the beginning of the end). Got "all you can ride" Midway passes. Wasnt feeling so well....remember I had and still was sick .....spinning.......greasy food........spinning....... went home. Let me just say that corn dogs dont taste as good the 2nd,3rd or 4th time. (Just had to gross you out!!!!!!). I had Sean go home and again at 7pm, now on a Saturday I lay on my death bed.

Woke up Sunday morning. SICK,SICK, REALLY SICK. Finally made it to the sofa around 10am. Around 1pm I drove to Seans sofa, watched Scary Movie 2 and drove back to my sofa........watched TV and went to bed.

Overall a pretty quiet and lame weekend. Today I feel better, but am still REALLY TIRED and still hacking out a lung.

NEXT WEEKEND I AM HEADED TO VEGAS. HAVE A SUITE AT MANDALAY BAY!!!!!!!!!!!1 Woo-Hoo.

April 29th - May 5th

What a crazy busy week this was!!!!! Monday it was a friends Birthday so I went and had a drink with the boys from Mark Container and then I went home and watched the Kings game.

Tuesday Darcie, Carol and I had dinner at Darcie's and then we went over to her friend Dave's house.

Wednesday Sean took me to Chevys for dinner.

Thursday Sean and His mom and I went to Dinner at PAesanos. That was yummy. (and I went to the gym and worked out)

Friday - Happy Cinco De Mayo weekend! It was Lisa Price's Birthday and I went over to Lisa and Natalie's. Sean came with me. We headed over to Hacienda and had dinner and cocktails, then a few of us went over to the Powerhouse Pub. We didnt stay out too late.

Saturday I got up pretty early. Sean came over and we went to the mall and bought him a swimsuit and some dress shirts. Then we went out to lunch at a restaurant called the Elephant Bar. Hung out in the afternoon and then he headed home.

Saturday night I went out with Darcie,Jen,Chele,Laura,Tonie,Debbie and we all went to Centro. They had the back parking lot roped off and a salsa band. Later we headed over to Harlows to see Funkengruven and dance. It was fun. Centro was jam packed!!! but Harlows was a lot less crowded, which suited us fine.

Sunday Sean came over and went to lunch at Bernardos. Jennifer came over and the three of us went to Crawdads on the River. The place was packed for Cinco De Mayo and everyone was their on their boats. I saw my friends Ruben and Penni and they invited my friends and I to party on their pontoon boat. We had a great time. There were boats everywhere, it was about 85 degrees out and being on a boat was GREAT!!! Got home aorund 7pm and my neighbor was having a little shindig on our porch, so I hung out with them for awhile.

April 22nd-28th

HI everyone!!!!

The work situation continues to look grim. Not sure what will happen to Storage but my resume is getting a facelift. I am still waiting to hear from San Diego.

Monday i went home from work and watched TV and went to bed VERY early.

Tuesday to the gym. (at least one day)

Wed. I won tickets on the radio to see Meredith Brooks (Im a bitch, I'm a tease, I'm a goddess......) at the Radisson for the ZONES BEACH PARTY. My friend Darcie came with me. They had this make your own bikini contest out of cotton balls and little things like that. The MOST ANOREXIC girls you have ever seen did this and were basically naked. Not too much class going on there!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday I worked pretty late and then went to PF CHANGS for dinner with my supplier and his designer. Got home around 9pm and watched some TV.

Friday I had the day off. I had a date at 3:30 with SEAN (30,divorced, no kids, gorgeous, retired cop. PI and bodyguard, pilot, Just passed the Air MArshall exams, Irish and Mexican, 6-0). WE HAD THE BEST TIME EVER!!!!!!! He took me to the shooting range and taught me how to shoot his police issue 9mm. LEt me tell you I am a bad ass now!!!!!! (made sure to get the yellow glasses and matching yellow ear things I WAS SO CHARLIES ANGELS!!!!!!!!!!!) Then we drove to Jackson Rancheria casino and did a little gambling. We drove back to Sac and he took me out to a romantic dinner at Andiamos.

Saturday I cleaned the house and then went to a wedding. I took Gary and he was a big loser date!!!! he was NO FUN to be around, hardly talked to me and was hitting on all of my friends. The wedding was beautiful and the reception held at Beermans was really fun. We did a lot of dancing.

LAter in the evening we went to a party. Gary left me at the party to go and meet his friends. He told me this when he came to pick me up for the wedding. I was not thrilled at this point in the evening. LESS THAN THRILLED with Gary all together. It's pretty bad when someone comes up to you at the wedding reception and says "did you know your date is hitting on your friends" BUT......SEAN came and saved me at the party, met all of my friends, played charades and drove me home. Everyone seemed to like him and all said he's hot!!!!

Sunday JEnnifer and Josh came over (and SEAN) and we went to lunch at the Virgin Sturgeon. Then over to the IMAX theatre to see the new SPACE movie narrated by Tom Cruise. This is a definite must see if you can get to an IMAX theatre. afterward we went for DESSERT at the TOWER CAFE. Sean is a pretty awesome guy.
