Poem(s)

Below is an example of my work. Please, read it and enjoy it, but don't submit it to your English teacher as an example of something you've written, or rename it and give it to your significant other. If, however, his/her name is actually "Maeve", go for it!

To Maeve

Not every night may bear forth a crescent moon,
Nor every day the Sun.
Sometimes, April's promised showers fail,
And never come.
The rain that nurtures may flood the fields,
The hearth fires may scorch and burn,
The giver might ne'er receive,
And all of his life might yearn.
The stars may seem at times much duller in the sky,
And, unlike in the sagas, some bold heroes die.
But, when we two were together,
It mattered not if these things were true.
They were all o'ershadowed by
The love that I bore for you.
