Horses for Sale
Balti
Icelandic horses for sale, aged 6-12. Mares and Geldings. Two are quiet, safe, beginners horses. Two have been shown and are also easy to ride,

All of our horses are purchased as ideal horses for me. I have selected them
as if I would keep, own and ride them indefinitely. Some are easier, quieter
and more ideal as family horses, all are trail ridden, some should be good
competition horses.
We will travel to Iceland with potential buyers to view horses. We have just
returned from a similar trip, we provided housing at a working Icelandic
ranch, entertainment and several horses to ride. Our client found a Blue
Dun, 5 gaited mare that has been delivered to Arizona.
Vikingur
Tolt is his first choice of gait. He is easy to catch in the pasture and
trusts humans totally, with a quiet personality, but ready to work hard and
give his all if needed. He has been used to drive horses and sheep, in all
sorts of terrain, and is very courageous, and has great potential for
jumping. His mouth is soft and the brakes super, and he's not afraid of any
traffic or anything. He is a prospect for kids, for beginners, for people
wanting to show at demos and such, or for the experienced rider that wants
an enjoyable mount. Vikingur will be shipped from Iceland in October.
Balti
Balti is 13 now, he is 4 gaited. His tolt is slow but clear. He is Chestnut
with a blaze. He has been shown in competition and ridden in Trail Trials.
He is reliable and trustworthy. He has been used as a trail horse and as a
beginner's riding horse. Balti is an easy keeper, he is quiet on the ground
and willing to try anything. We have jumped logs, crossed streams, been in
demonstrations and he is a great example of what a first Icelandic should
be. He knows some dressage, he side passes and turns on the forehand.
Vaengur
He is 5, Bay pinto, 4 gaited, quiet, used to pony horses, very calm, knows
some dressage, a pretty, reliable mount. He will be less expensive if shipped directly to purchaser rather than to California.

Eva fra Hlid

Eva is 7, she is 4 gaited. Her tolt is clear and consistent. She is Chestnut
with a blaze. Eva is in Southern California
and she has been in training. She is easy to handle on the ground. She
trailers and ties. She has been taught to back up. She is an easy horse to
ride and doesn't shy at anything in Iceland.
Styrmir
Styrmir is 6 years old, chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. He is sweet, a
real teddy bear horse. He always comes to the fence whenever we are outside.
He won 5 ribbons in 5 classes in Scottsdale. He is 5 gaited but pace hasn't
been utilized very much yet. Styrmir has a fast tolt and will have higher
action and be even faster as he ages. He is very curious and easy to teach.
He has learned to back up/ side pass and turn on the forehand. He is very
willing and foreward but listens and has good brakes. He is probably not the
best choice for a first Icelandic, I would recommend him as a second horse
or your competition horse.
Styrmir and Laura won Novice Rider Tolt, 2nd in Novice Rider 4-Gait, 2nd in
Novice 4-Gait at Del Mar.
Fani
Fani is 7 years old, chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. He is my personal
favorite. He is 5 gaited and won 3 ribbons in 3 classes at the Scottsdale
show. He was a stallion until last summer. He has a huge mane and tail, a
thick neck and wide jaw. He is a very pretty horse. He has a very fast tolt
and a nice flying pace.
Fani and I won Novice Rider 4 gait in Del Mar, we took 2nd in Novice Rider
Tolt and 3rd in Novice 4-Gait.
Fani and Laura took 2nd in Loose Rein Tolt.

Eva fra Engihlid
Our black mare is 7, solid, coal black. She looks like a small Freisian. She
is 4 gaited and has the slowest and the fastest tolt I've ever ridden. Her
gaits are clear and she is a very safe horse. She is very quick to listen
and very light in her mouth. I believe that she will make a
nice family or show horse.
Sola fra Vindasi
Sola is a 9 year old, 4 gaited, 14 hands, bay mare. She is a great family
horse, nice tolt and very calm on the trail.
Osk
SOLD
Osk, 7 yr. old blue dun mare. Good bloodlines (Ofeigur 882), easy tolt, 5 gaited, a little shy on the ground but very brave when riding her. She likes to go out alone and will readily ride away from the group. She will maintain a walk or whichever gait you have requested with other horses cantering past. She is a very promising as a show horse.
This is Vinur, he is 8 years old, a 4 gaited competition horse that has been
successfully shown in Iceland. He is easy to ride, very brave and calm, has
clear tolt with nice action and is an unusual color, it has been described
to me as red silver dapple pinto!!!
