Since this save has been tested and appears to work as well as any other save for this game (which isn't saying much) I'll dispense with the disclaimer. Just understand that many of the items you find in the upper levels of Taris are very different than the base items they're built on. This save was not made by hacking the file itself. The modified items were created in the same way they're created for the PC version.
So let's get to it.
I've modified many items as well as their descriptions. At some point, I expect that the custom descriptions will revert to their original text (with a few exceptions), but this will NOT affect the item in any other way. This happens because all text strings are drawn from a single local file which will be different from mine. Again, this will not affect the function of the item.
Let me be clear about this next issue ...CHECK ALL CONTAINERS AND DROPS! Many containers that were originally props, are now useable and contain special items ...DON'T MISS THEM! This is especially important in Kebla's Equipment Emporium. There are 11 containers there, check them ALL. Check all the stores as well, there are 4. Look for unusual items and descriptions. A few of the containers are empty, these may have items in the final release of this save. USE THE WORKBENCH!. Most of the new items are upgradeable, so check the workbench. I've made sure there are more than enough upgrades available (and they're cheap).
The biggest issue I've had with this is in using disguises. There are a total of 12 disguises (not counting the disguises for the droids). All of them are modified armbands with one exception, the dark robes are esentially a disguise added to the Revan's Robe item.
To use a disguise without freezing the game at the equip screen, first remove any clothing, armor, or other disguise you may have equipped. I can't stress this enough, DO NOT EQUIP A DISGUISE UNTIL YOUR CHARACTER IS WEARING NOTHING! DO NOT APPLY A DISGUISE OVER ANOTHER!
The armbands are named for the disguise they represent, so pay attention when equipping them. If the disguise doesn't appear properly, unequip it, leave the equip screen, then try it again. If you follow those rules, you should have no problem.
The droid "transforms" are modified armor items, so there's no possibility of applying one over another.
You should find that all of the meds, stims and grenades in this area are unlimited use items. The grenades don't say so in their description, but you should be able use the same grenade through the entire game. The meds and stims clearly state "Uses: unlimited" in their description. This also applies to a couple of personal shields, the level3 environmental droid shield, and the droid utility items (lvl3). So don't be spending credits on things that will last the whole game.
You'll notice a limit to stat bonuses and some strange behavior in the damage numbers when some weapons are fully upgraded. This doesn't accurately represent the potential damage dealt by the weapon, it's just the game. You can see the accurate damage in the battle log.
That's about it for now. If I think of anything else, or someone points something out, I'll add it. Until then, have at it.
