A Bit About Myself

Hello!! Welcome to my web page!! I decided that I would start things off by telling you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in California, in a modest little city called Bakersfield. I have recently moved from there, and I now reside a little to the north, in Visalia. I am getting to know the city little by little, and it seems a nice change of pace from my hometown. As far as family goes, I have a stepfather and thirteen year-old sister back in Bakersfield. My mother died in the fall of 1997 of cancer, but I feel that she was well-loved, and that I have no remourse over our relationship. My sister and I get along very well, and I feel that our bond is stronger since our mother left us. In Bakersfield I lived on a private piece of farmland with my family and pet cats, which taught me my love of nature. I've grown up around animals all of my life, and so it has given me a special apptitude for them, cats especially. One of my best friends swears that I am part cat, but I just think that I understand them very well.

As far as my interests go, I am pretty easy to please. I do enjoy the occasional video game, but I do feel that they are better with a friend. I enjoy reading a good novel, and I am always in search of new and interesting books to read. My favorite writers are Stephen King and Dean Knootz, but I also like many fantasy/sci-fi novels. I also consider myself a loose artist, as I enjoy making pencil drawings and composing poetry every once in a while. I find that it relaxes me and puts me in touch with nature, which I also happen to have an affinity for. One of my main passions in life is music, and it is very evident in my everyday life. I am normally almost always either listening to the radio or to one of my many CDs, and I find that music helps to put me in a good mood when I am down. I also enjoy singing, and have even occasionaly sung for a close friend or two. My dream is to be a professional singer, but I know that that takes a lot of hard work, money, and the right oppertunities, which I feel I'm too young to care about right now. Basically, I'm an easygoing young woman who wants to get the most out of life. :O)

As far as current news about my life goes, there isn't all that much, but I'll share anyway. I graduated from Ridgeview High in June of 1999, and I attended Bakersfield College for one year. I haven't started college again since I moved, but I am looking to start agian in the fall. I am currently working on getting my driver's license, and learning how to drive my car, which happens to be a stick shift. I am currently in search of new friends for the area, and you can find me online once in a while on the Yahoo! pager in my effort to track down some locals with similar interests. I try talk to my friends from Bakersfield as much as I can, of which I am in contact with the most of a one Rueben Canales, who has been my best friend for almost four years now. I am in serach of a job to fill my time, but I need my licese first, so I am putting all my effort into that. That's all the news for now, but if anything changes, I'll be sure to add it in here.
