Then there was the how do I work, return to my old (prebroken toe
and piled on pounds) workout schedule and add these walks? Not
possible. Oh sure, I could wake up at 4am and drive to a training
walk then drive the 23 miles to work and then hit the gym afterward -- I could, but I'd burn out in about two weeks. So what? Give up on the idea? Or maybe, get back to walking, build the mileage and do a lot of cross training (read back to the gym) too.
I'd already been tracking my mileage and gym time starting on the day I did the Making Strides walk (I walked the 2 miles to the event, did the event and walked home). When doing bike or cross trainer, I always select either a random interval programme or a hill for the challenge. The run down to date:
