HUE CITADEL-THE OLD CAPITAL(above)--The Royal Citadel is located on the banks of the Perfume River. The construction, using exclusively bricks, of the square citadel started in 1805. The wall is 9 m high, 20 m thick and surrounded by a moat.The citadel has 10 gates: Nha Do, Sap, Ngan, Thuong Tu, Dong Ba, Ke Trai, Hau, An Hoa, Chanh Tay, and Huu gates.

Ha Long Bay, located north of the East Sea of Vietnam,is 165 km east of Hanoi, in Quang Ninh province. Ha Long Bay, a famous Vietnam tourist attraction was ascertained by the UNESCO as one of the World Cultural Relics.Ha Long Bay covers an area of 1,500 km2. Among the several nice beaches Halong its winding coastline is Bai Chay, located north of Cat Ba Island. The marine reserve in the bay is flourishing and offers great potential for snorkeling. The bay is filled with thousands of islets of all shape and sizes; most of them get their names after their unusual shapes such as Voi Islet (elephant), Ga Choi Islet (fighting cock), and Mai Nha Islet (roof).
