//chapter//\\twelve\\

"Come on, you guys!" Jenica cried. "They're gonna get sick of waiting and take off if we don't hurry."

"Jenica, shut up and help me find that one shirt!" Katie called.

"Which one?" Jenica asked.

"The one that I like a lot and I wear it all the time and I look really good in it." Katie said, digging through her suitcase.

"OH! That one!" Jenica said sarcastically.

"Come on, you guys. Let's go." Jenni said from the bed. She had been comfortably sitting there for some time, now. She didn't really believe in going insane just because she was going to meet a few guys. Especially, since Malory had found them and Jenni would trust her life with a anaconda before she would trust Malory's taste in guys.

"Alright," Katie said, finally, "let's go!"

The three girls headed towards the door, Jenni in a hunter green t-shirt and jeans, Jenica, in a dark blue spaghetti strap tank top and denim shorts, and Katie, in a hunter green, striped, spaghetti strap tank top and her favorite jeans which had a dark green stripe going down each side.

They walked out of the room and began heading for the stairs. Once the bottom of the stairs was reached they realized that there was a problem. They approached Malory who was alone on the beach.

"Where are they?" Jenni asked.

"I'm not sure. They told me that they had to go do something and that they would be right back. They didn't say how long it would take, though. I was hoping they would get back before you guys got here." Malory said.

"So, what are we supposed to do? Just wait for them?" Katie asked.

"I guess so. Aw, crap-kabobs! I just remembered something! I forgot my key at the room. Katie, can I borrow yours so I can go get it?" Malory asked.

"You did not forget your key. I saw you grab it when you left to get your sandals." Katie replied.

"Um.....well, yeah, but I came back up there remember? To tell you guys what had happened. I must have set it down." Malory said.

Katie sighed and said, "Yeah, ok. Here." She handed her key to Malory and Malory started for the room.

"What are we supposed to do?" Jenica cried after her.

"Just wait here for the guys. They might come back and I don't think they'll stick around if nobody's here." Malory called as she ran around the corner of their building to the stairs.

"Well, this is fun." Jenni mumbled as she sat down on the hammock. "Where do you think they went?"

"I don't know." Katie replied, sitting next to Jenni.

"I wonder if Malory actually met those guys, and if, maybe, this is just some cruel joke. Do you guys think that she would do that to us?" Jenica asked.

"If that is what's going on, I'm gonna kick her ass soooooo bad. She'll really regret it." Katie said, making a fist.

"I guess we'll just have to wait and find out, huh?" asked Jenni.

Thank God. Malory thought as she walked towards her building. 'I didn't think I was gonna get away from them for a second, there.' She reached the stairs but didn't go up. Instead, she walked around behind the stairs where she had told Scott, Bob, Clint, and Dave to wait.

"Was that them?" Dave asked.

"Yupper. That was them. I almost didn't get away." Malory said.

"What, exactly, are we going to do?" Scott asked.

"Um......I'm willing to listen to any ideas you guys might have." she replied.

"You mean, you don't have an idea? You said you did." Clint said.

"I had and idea that the beach thing wouldn't work, that well, but that was it." she said, laughing. "I was hoping that you guys would come up with something so that I wouldn't have to. Remember? I'm blonde here. I'm not supposed to think, too much." she laughed again and so did they.

"I think I know something that we can do." Bob said.

"Fire away." said Malory.

"Well, how about we just go up to your room and wait there. Your friends will come looking for you when you don't come back and when they walk in, we'll be there. Sound good?" Bob asked.

"Yeah. That could work, and Malory, you could tell us about them, and how you think they would react when they see us." Scott said.

Malory nodded and said, "Well, I guess it's agreed then. We wait there for them to come back. Come on. I'll show you where it is."

They headed up the stairs to lie in wait for her friends to return.

"Where is she?! She's been gone for almost ten minutes!" Katie cried, pacing back and forth in front of the hammock.

"I don't think she's coming back. I doubt she even met those guys. She probably just wanted to see how long we would wait down here for her. That little bitch! I am gonna kill her!" Jenni said.

"We're all gonna kill her!" cried Katie.

"Let's go see if she's still at the room. If she's smart, which she isn't, she'll be gone. Hurry up! Let's go!" Jenni cried as she began to run for the stairs.

They ran up the stairs and to the door of their room.

"Here they come!" said Malory, who was peeking through the window. "They look pissed. HIDE, YOU GUYS!"

They ran into the bathroom and partially shut the door. They felt their apprehension growing as they waited. What were they doing? Were they insane? They had just met this Malory girl and they were practically trusting her with their lives. She was about to release three unpredictable, unknowing fans upon them, and, yet, though they were a tad cautious, they stayed. They heard the girls coming and they decided to go through with it. Besides, it was too late to run.

Katie, Jenni, and Jenica practically threw each other out of the way just to get inside. The moment they saw Malory, standing in the middle of the room, smiling, they ran up to her and started to bombard her with questions.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you make us wait down there for so long, for nothing? What's going on?"

Malory turned her head, so that she could look towards the bathroom door without getting her friends to do the same. She saw that the Moffatts had come completely out of the bathroom, hoping that their presence would be noticed and that they would all stop yelling.

"GUYS! SHUT UP!" Malory screamed. It was loud enough to stop her friends for a moment and she seized the moment to tell them what she wanted to say.

"Don't kill me, just yet. I'd like you guys to meet some people." she cried.

"What are you talking about?!" Katie cried. "There's nobody......here....." Katie gasped, which caught the attention of Jenni and Jenica. They both looked at Katie who was staring wide eyed and open mouthed at the Moffatts. Then Jenni and Jenica saw them and made the same face as Katie.

"That...is what I was trying to tell you!" Malory said.

Clint's eyes lit up as they fell on the short blonde girl in the center. His eyes met with Jenica's and they both looked away shyly. At the same time, Katie and Bob were locked in a staring contest.

As her friends watched, Malory walked up, put one arm around Dave, the other around Scott, and said, "Guys, I'd like you to meet my friends, Katie, Jenni, and Jenica."

She pointed to each of her friends in turn. Then she said, "As for you," referring to her friends, "I don't believe that an introduction is necessary."

Suddenly, Katie found herself able to speak again. "You're the.....Moffatts."

"Well, thanks for clearing that up for us, Katie." said Jenni.

Katie blushed and turned her attention back to Bob.

"Hi!" Dave said, cheerily, stepping forward to shake Jenni's hand. The other Moffatts followed suit, except for Bob, who was still watching Katie. Once they shook hands with them, the girls seemed to loosen up, a little bit, and they found themselves able to walk and speak again.

"So, what island thingy are you guys staying at?" Jenica asked Clint.

"We're at Barbados." he replied.

"Cool!" said Katie. "That means you're, like, right next door."

Bob still hadn't said anything or moved.

"Hey, Bob. You ok?" Malory asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine, Mal. Just a little stunned." he said.

"'Bout what?" Katie asked.

"You know the first verse to 'Love'?" he asked.

"Yeah." she whispered.

"Well, there ya go." he said as he walked up to her and took her hand in his.

Her face grew bright red as she stammered, "Th-That's so sweet."

They had forgotten that everyone else was there and they walked out of the room, arm in arm, talking.

As they disappeared through the doorway, Jenica said, "Ok, did I miss something, here?"

"I think we all did." said Malory, still staring after them in disbelief.

"Looks like they're planning on having a little fun, tonight." Clint said, trying to lighten everyone up and not succeeding.

Needless to say, this left the other six of the group feeling a tad uncomfortable.
