"Will you quit the stupid plink-ing and plunk-ing already?!" Bob said angrily.
"Dave, what's the matter?" Clint tried to say as nicely as he could even though he himself was fed up with Dave hitting the keys at random.
"Dunno." "You're sick? Exhausted? Out of love?" Scott said. The last suggestion really hit Dave over the head.
"Scott, hint: #3."
"#3? #3 what?" Scott tried to figure out.
"Scott, remember those suggestions you gave him? #3...." Clint said.
"Oh......Dave, you're out of love?!" Scott yelped.
"Yup." Dave answered.
"But, why?" Bob just didn't get it.
"Look, I don't want to talk about it. I'm going to go to the beach." Dave said.
"Okay." the other three answered.
"What am I thinking? I can't get a girlfriend when I'm on the road three quarters of the year!" Dave said to himself as he wandered down the beach.
"Man, it's getting hot." he said to himself. He took off his shirt so he could cool down.
"Am I crazy?" he asked himself, as he sat down on a rock.
"I don't know, but you sure don't look like you are." said a female voice.
"Huh?" Dave looked to his left. He saw a girl, about 5'3", brown hair, wearing a dark green halter top, army shorts, and blue sandals.
"Who are you?" he asked her as she sat down next to him.
"Renie Litrell. Renie's short for Serena."
"I'm Dave Moffatt." Up close, he could see she had dark green eyes.
"You have pretty eyes." he said sort of shyly.
"Yeah, well, everyone tells me that. Me and my quadruplet brother and sister."
"Yeah, hard to believe. I have two sisters, Jessica and Alicia, and a brother, Brian Christopher. Oh, and a big sister, Jennifer. She's 16."
"That's so cool!"
"What's so cool?"
"I have two triplet brothers, and an older brother, he's 16, too!"
"Un. Be. Lievable."
"We've got a lot in common."
"Hey, you're right!"
They talked for a about 20 minutes, realizing they had a lot more in common than they thought, until Dave's hand accidently brushed Renie's. Then they became silent out of embarresment.
"Um, well, uh.... Do you wish you knew what's going on? Because I don't!?" Dave said frantically.
"I wish." She responded quietly.
"Uh....Ever since I saw you, I kinda fell for you."
"That's funny, because it's the same way with me." They were quiet for a few seconds until Dave leaned over and kissed Renie. She kissed him right back. Then they kissed for the third time, except Dave slid his arms around Renie's waist and Renie put her hands on his shoulders. They kissed for about 20 seconds and-
"Sis, where were you- Whoo!!! My sister has a boyfriend!"
"Brian, the next time you say that, I'll tell Dad and Carmen about you-know-who." Renie told her brother after she and Dave broke apart in surprise.
"Sis, it's 9:00, and Carmen wants you to come home. So come on." "Brian, wait a few minutes. I have to talk to Dave for a little while."
Renie walked over to where Dave was standing. "Sorry, Dave, but I have to go."
"I know. I'd better head home soon, too."
"So, I guess this is goodbye."
"Wait!" Dave laid a hand on her shoulder. "Are you busy tomorrow night?"
"Well, would you want to come to our concert tomorrow? I could get you a special backstage pass."
"Well my family will pick you up at 9:15. Okay?"
"Fine with me. Well, bye."
Renie went over to Brian and poked him in the shoulder. "Lead the way bro."
Dave watched as Renie and her brother left the beach, and pulled on his shirt and headed for home.
