chapter 9:

the Quartermaine mansion the next morning:
Edward-what In the San hell is going on here! I get summoned here by Ned's secretary and Ned is no where to be found!!
Monica-for Ned to have called us all here it must be important.
Emily-im sure Ned will be here any minute grandfather calm down.
Just then AJ and Carly breeze into the room.
AJ- Well,well,well, I wonder why Ned has called us all here. Whatever it is its better be good. I have more pressing matters to attend to.
Edward-like what AJ its not like you have been taking care of ELQ. I have practically been running that company for the last year. maybe that's what Ned's announcement is he's quitting that L&B nonsense and wants to rejoin ELQ. With the way you have been handling ELQ maybe all let him!
All at the same time:
AJ-Grandfather I have been doing a great job at ELQ!
Carly- I don't appreciate you talking to my husband like that!
Emily-Ned is never going to come back to ELQ L&B is at the top of its game.
Carly-Your just saying that because Ned let you be in Migel's music video!
Monica-don't speak to my daughter like that!
Ned and Alexis walk in to the Q. Living room. When they see all the fervor Alexis turns around and starts to leave. Ned grabs her hand to stop her.
Ned-(whispers)Now is as a good of time as any. We can do this (takes her hand in his) together.
Alexis-I love you
and with that they walk into the "Big Top"
Ned-(screams)all of you stop yelling now!!
Edward- There you are Ned. what in the world have you called us all here for, and what in the world is she doing here?!? (points to Alexis)
Ned-She is here because I love her, and were getting married!!
Edward-to a Cassidine. I don't think so!!
Ned-oh you have no say in what I do but, I thought you would like to know now if none of you are going to be happy for Alexis and I then will just go!
Emily-No Ned don't go. congratulations, im so happy for you!
she runs up to him and gives him a hug
Emily-and you too!
She goes and gives Alexis a hug.
Monica- Im happy for the both of you too. Congratulations Ned, Im very happy for you both.
Monica gives Ned a hug and shakes Alexis'hand
AJ-so Ned-o what is this you 6th trip down the isle I give it a year. oh and Alexis my condolences on your mistake.
Alexis- Excuse me! You have no right to say that to me. especially with your choice in brides.
Carly-You know what Alexis im not suprised by your comments ever since I have met you You have acted like your so damn above it all. but,in reality I know your more screwed up than AJ and I put together. so do us all a favor and get over your self!
ned-(coming to Alexis defense) listen you gold digging tramp! Alexis is the best woman I have ever met and I know this is a hard concept for you to grasp but, im marring her for love. Unlike your and AJ's sham of a marriage that I cant even believe has lasted this long by the way. So if anyone is acting superior here its you and I frankly have no patience for it so why don't you and AJ take you matching laundry carts, and take a long ride off a short hill.
Carly's mind is racing she is so peeved by Ned's comments she doesn't even know where to begin. Some of what Ned said had rang true in the beginning but not now she wasn't staying married to AJ for the money. Her marriage wasn't a sham but before she could find the right words to express this out loud Lila came into the room.
Lila-Everyone! Please stop yelling. Ned has come to share happy news with us not to start a fight.(she turns her attention toward Ned) Ned I couldn't be happier for you and Alexis.
Ned kneels down and kisses his grandmothers hand
Ned-thank you grandmother that means a lot to me.
Lila-Alexis dear could you come hear please?
Alexis takes the spot just vacated by Ned.
Alexis- yes Lila
Lila-congratulations you make my grandson happy and that makes me happy.
Alexis-thank you Lila that means a lot to me.
Lila-(whispers so only Alexis can hear her)- id like to talk to you later alone if you don't mind will you visit me later in my rose garden.
Alexis- of course I will.
Ned-well as much fun as this is. Alexis and I really must be going.
Ned takes Alexis hand and proceeds out of the house
That Night:
Carly and AJ sit with Michael on his bed.
Michael- (sniff sniff) read me a story.
Carly- ok Michael all read you a story. Do you feel ok sweetie?
Micheal-(coughs) I feel icky.
AJ-its probably just a little cold. All have leticia get some medicine for you.
Michael starts to whine.
Michael- I don't want it!! no its yucky!
Carly-but it will make you feel better.
Carly presses the intercom button and tells leitcia to bring up some medicine for Michael. she does and after some protests Michael finally takes the medicine.
Michael-read me a story daddy.
AJ- ok Michael what one?
Micheal-the one with the sleeping princess.
AJ gets up and goes to the book shelf to pick out the book Michael snuggles into Carly's chest and AJ comes on to the other side of the bed and begins to read.
AJ-once upon a time in a far away land..............

A light drizzle falls on Simon and V's bodies as they lay asleep in the sand. A towel draped haphazardly over their bodies. in there own private paradise. In the distance a man silently watches them.

Ned and Alexis lay in bed at the gatehouse. Alexis is asleep on Ned's chest. Ned is stroking her hair.
Ned-(whispers) im not gonna screw things up with you Alexis. All prove Edward,AJ,and everyone else wrong. I will give you the happily ever after you deserve. I love you.
Alexis opens her eyes witch are filled with tears but, she says nothing just lets Ned's word wash over her. She doesn't say she heard his promise but keeps it in her heart. She closes her eyes once more and drifts back into a peaceful sleep.

carly slides her arm out from underneath a sleeping Michael. Carly gives Michael a kiss and so does AJ as they tightly tuck Michael covers around him. AJ puts his arm around carly and they walk out of Michael's room together.

Jax comes into a sleeping Chloe's room with a dozen roses, and a velvet box. he gazes at her appreciatively and gives her a light kiss on the lips. He brings a chair up to her bed takes her hand and falls to sleep.
