Yesterday,
we were so close, and shared so much,
as I sat upon your knee.
Yesterday,
I told you how much I loved you,
and heard you say you loved me too.
Yesterday,
we talked and laughed and I spent
the day with you.
Yesterday,
you listened to my troubles, and
wiped the tears from my face.
Yesterday,
I was part of your life and knew
that was my Special Place.
Yesterday,
you died, and now I am
without you, and now
I cry today.
Today,
I long for yesterday, when the world
felt safe and right.
Today,
I long for the days, when you held
me, in your arms so tight.
Today,
we are not together, and my heartaches,
and I miss you so much.
Today,
what I would give, just to see your
face, and to feel your touch.
Today,
I tell you how much I love you,
but silence fills the air.
Today,
I need to hear you say you love me,
this all seems so unfair.
Today,
I am fighting to be strong, and keeping
your memory ever so near.
Today,
I must carry on, for tomorrow God will
dry all my tears.
Tomorrow,
when God calls my name, I will die
and leave this world too.
Tomorrow,
just as God Promised Us, I will
spend eternity with you.
