David Jickling of Washington, D.C. prepared the first edition in 1994 of this family history with the help of Stan Langley of West Winch, King's Lynn. This 1995 revision is primarily the result of Stan's further work. The manuscript has travelled back and forth across the Atlantic several times. We trust that we have caught most of the errors.

Much research remains to be done on the origins of the Jicklings and on the linkages between many of the family members recorded here. We hope that future family historians will continue our work.

This family history would not have been possible without the early work of Alec Jickling of Kindersley, Saskatchewan and Jean Locke Matthews of Dundas, Ontario. We have also been helped and encouraged by Ron Jickling of Estevan, Saskatchewan and John Jickling of Birmingham, Michigan and their computer outputs.

The careful research of Charles Farrow of Scarning, East Dereham has been invaluable.  Freda England of Heacham and Cynthia Tuck of Wells-next-the-Sea have opened their parish registers most willingly to us.  We owe a special vote of thanks to Pat Midgely of the North End Trust, King's Lynn who first enabled David and Stan to get together on this project.

We dedicate this study to the
early members of our family
who lived in Norfolk.

Printed copies are available for $20 from David L. Jickling.

Further information is available from Stan L. Langley, 15 Hall Lane, West Winch, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE33 OPJ UK.
