Annex 10 -- Missing Cousins
Some leads to follow in finding descendants of Robert and Julia Jickling of Comstock2
The Brighams:
Did Robert (4-1) and Martha (4-2) Brigham leave descendants?
Did Roy (4-3-1) and Stanley (4-3-2) leave any descendants?
If so, they probably lived or may live today in the Kalamazoo area.
The Christensens:
What was Pauline Newell (3-1-1) Christensen's husband's first name? What happened to her two sons? Do they live in the Bloomingdale, IL area, where their mother was in 1962?
This business might be a good lead:
Christensen and Associates, 21 N. West St.,
Waukegan, IL 60085-4301, tel. 708-249-9901
This is an outside chance:
Pauline Christensen, Drummond Island, MI
The Eggstaffs:
Charles Eggstaff (2-1-3) died in California in 1972 according to the Social Security records. There are two Eggstaffs listed in the Select Phone for California. Neither has a street address, but they may be available in the San Diego phone book.
Charles Eggstaff, San Diego, CA
Thomas Eggstaff, San Diego, CA
Eleanor Eggstaff (2-1-4) probably married, but any descendant of Charles (2-1-3) would know about her family. Eggstaff is an uncommon family name so we should be able to trace them. Here is one in the Mid-West:
James C. Eggstaff, Schaumburg, IL
The Bert Jicklings:
What became of Elaine (2-2-1) and Arlene (2-2-2) Jickling? Somewhere I encountered reference to Arlene's two children. Did Elaine have children? What were their married names? Did they live in the Kalamazoo area? Why was there so little communication between the two Bert Jicklings, one the uncle (7) born in 1862 and the nephew (2-2) born in 1878, both living in Kalamazoo?
Maxine Jickling:
Did Maxine (2-3-1) marry? Did she have children? Western Michigan University has no record of her, although I understand that she was a student there in the mid 1930s. Does she live on the north side of Chicago, where she grew up? She would be 79 years old if she were alive today. If she was unmarried, the Social Security system has no record of her death as a Jickling.
The Newells:
What happened to the children of Ulysses S. Newell (3-3)? If we can locate one of them, we may have information on all five. Jean Newell Kitzinger (3-3-5) may be a good lead as it is an uncommon family name. The Select Phone has two possibilities:
Lura Kitzinger, Lansing, MI
Russell Kitzinger, Saint Joseph, MI
Here are two possible Newells:
Larry Newell, Spring Lake, MI
Larry F. Newell, Battle Creek, MI
The Rix:
Did Minnie Bell Rix (2-4-1) marry? Did she have children? These people may know:
N. Rix
William Rix
Robert M. Rix
Judith Rix
Elmer Rix
Bonnie Rix
all of Kalamazoo,
MI

2 Most of these addresses and phone numbers are from Select Phone, a CD ROM which lists every telephone in the U.S. It is available commercially and in major libraries. Any genealogical society will also give suggestions on tracing "lost relatives".
